The purpose of this study was to investigate the Influence of self-perceived physical attractiveness on self-esteem and appearance management behavior of adult women. The data for this study were collected using questionnaire from 511 adult women living in Kwangju, Korea. The data were analysed using frequency, variance analysis, Duncan`s multiple range test, and cross-taps. The results were as follows 1. The focuses of respondents` appearance management behaviors were largely centered on facial and skin texture improvement and hair styling. The frequency of all the plastic surgeries was not so high, but intention of them was much higher than the practice. 2. The self-perceived physical attractiveness of the respondents influenced significantly on their self-esteem. 3. The self-perceived physical attractiveness of the respondents influenced significantly on their several appearance management behaviors excluding plastic surgeries. 4. The self-esteem of respondents influenced significantly on their several appearance management behaviors excluding plastic surgeries.
자기조절이 이직의도에 미치는 영향 : 보육교사에 대한 자율성 지지의 조절효과

본 연구는 보육교사의 이직을 관리하기 위한 예방적 접근에서 출발하였다. 이를 위해 자기조절과 이직의도 간의 관계에서 보육교사에 대한 자율성 지지의 조절효과를 검증하는 데 목적을 두었다. 보육교사 186명을 대상으로 기본적 배경정보와 함께 자기조절, 자율성 지지, 이직의도를 포함한 자기보고식 검사를 실시하였으며, SPSS(PASW) 18.0과 PROCESS Macro를 사용하여 연구대상인 보육교사의 배경정보(연령, 결혼유무, 일평균근무시간)를 통제한 후에 조절적 회귀분석을 실시하여 자료를 분석하였다. 이에 더하여 단순회귀선 검증과 Johnson-Neyman(J-N) 기법의 유의영역을 통해 조절효과의 패턴 및 조절효과가 발휘되는 지점을 보다 정확하게 검토하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 자기조절은 보육교사의 이직의도에 통계적으로 유의한 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 자기조절 수준이 증가할수록 보육교사의 이직의도는 감소하였다. 둘째, 보육교사에 대한 자율성 지지는 자기조절과 이직의도의 관계를 조절하였다. 특히 자율성지지의 패턴은 자기조절이 이직의도의 감소에 미치는 영향을 강화하면서 조절효과를 보였다. 이에 본 연구는 보육교사 개인자원인 자기조절과 보육교사의 역량인 동시에 교육환경에서 제공 가능한 자율성 지지를 인적 관리의 방향으로 제안하고자 한다. This study started with a preventive approach to managing childcare teachers" turnover. In addition, it aimed to examine the moderating effect of childcare teachers" autonomy support in the relationship between their self-regulation and turnover intention. A sample of 186 childcare teachers completed a self-report battery that included measures of basic background information, self-regulation, autonomy support, and turnover intention. Subsequently, a moderated multiple regression was performed on the self-report battery data using SPSS (PASW) 18.0 and PROCESS Macro after controlling the childcare teachers" basic background information (age, marital status, and average working hours per day). In addition, the patterns and point of moderating effect were investigated in more detail using a simple slope test and the Johnson-Neyman (J-N) technique for the significant regions. First, the above analyses indicated that the childcare teachers" turnover intention decreased as self-regulation increased. Second, the childcare teachers" autonomy support pattern strongly moderated their self-regulation"s effect on turnover intention reduction. Finally, this study suggested the childcare teachers" self-regulation (a personal resource) and autonomy (a competency to be supported by an educational environment) as directions for effective human management.
활동보조인의 감정노동과 이직의도의 관계에 대한 매개된 조절모형 검증: 직무스트레스의 매개효과와 전담인력지지의 조절효과

본 연구는 활동보조인의 감정노동과 이직의도 사이의 관계에서 전담인력이 제공하는 사회적 지지를 통한 직무스트레스의 매개된 조절효과를 검증하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 활동보조인 249명을 대상으로 감정노동, 전담인력지지, 직무스트레스, 이직의도에 관해 측정하였고, SPSS 18.0과 SPSS PROCESS macro를 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직무스트레스는 감정노동과 이직의도 간의 관계에서 부분 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 전담인력지지는 감정노동이 직무스트레스에 미치는 부정적 영향을 완충하는 조절효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 직무스트레스가 전담인력지지와 상호작용하여 이직의도에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 감정노동이 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 대한 직무스트레스의 매개효과가 감정노동과 전담인력지지의 상호작용에 의해 조절되면서, 본 연구의 매개된 조절모형이 지지되었다. 마지막으로 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 시사점과 제한점, 후속연구를 위한 제언에 관해 논하였다. This study was designed to examine the mediated moderation of job stress through social support from coordinators in the relation between emotional labor and turnover intention. A total of 249 personal assistants for the disabled answered a questionnaire including measures of emotional labor, social support from coordinators, job stress, and turnover intention. These data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro. The main results were as follows. Frist, job stress turned out to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship between emotional labor and turnover intention. Second, social support from coordinators was found to have a moderating effect in terms of buffering the negative effect of emotional labor on job stress; whereas, the influence of job stress interacting with social support on turnover intention was not significant. Third, the moderating effect of social support on job stress mediating the relationship between emotional labor and turnover intention (the mediated moderation) was supported. Finally, implications, limitations, and suggestions for future studies are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the perceived facial attractiveness and appropriateness of clothing on the evaluation of task performance of target person mediated by subjects` likability toward and trait evaluation of the target person. The facial attractiveness of the female university students were used as index of physical attractiveness in this study. Three levels of facial attractiveness was manipulated based on the judgements by 30 female university students. Four types of clothes were selected perceived appropriate for two assumed situations by female university students. Three female faces having high, medium, and low attractiveness were simulated with the same body dressed four types of clothing respectively using CAD system, and a total of 12 stimulus persons were created. The design for the experiment was a 3 x 4 x 2 randomaized factorial, with three levels of facial attractiveness (high, medium, low), and four types attire (formal-masculine, formal-feminine, casual-masculine, casual-feminine), two kinds of context (job interview, dating) in which perceptions were occurred. The subjects of this study was 524 male and female(262 of male, 262 of female) university students from 3 universities in Kwangju, Korea. The data were analysed using factor analysis, descriptive statistics, regression, path analysis. The results were as follows: 1. In bogus job interview, the direct effect of perceived facial attractiveness on task evaluation was .175 and the indirect effect mediated by likability and trait evaluation was .285 in path analysis model. The direct effect of perceived appropriateness of clothing on task performance evaluation was .111 and the indirect effect mediated by likability only was .0564 in pass analysis model. 2. In dating situation, the, direct effect of perceived facial attractiveness on task performance evaluation was .355, the indirect effect mediated by likability and trait evaluation was .188 in path analysis model. The direct effect of perceived appropriateness of clothing on task performance evaluation was .108. the indirect effect mediated by likability and trait evaluation was .060 in pass analysis.

SLE is an acute and/or chronic disease of a complex autoimmune nature affecting the skin, joints, serous membranes, kidney, central nervous system, cardiovascular system, and other organs of the body. Cardiac abnormalities are one of the most important clinical manifestations of SLE, contributing significantly to the morbidity and morality of the disease. We report a woman, a 30-year-old with SLE, who developed symptoms and echocardiographic signs of dilated cardiomyopathy. She had a history of acute myocardial infartion 7 months ago and has taken cyclophosphamide pulse therapy owing to lupus nephritis. The diagnosis of the condition was based only on clinical and echocardiographic grounds without coronary angiography or endomyocardial biopsy. She received high dose steroid (methylprednisolone pulse therapy: Img/kg for 3 days) and conservative therapy for heart failure. The association of SLE with dilated cardiomyopathy has not been described with review of previous literatures. For the probable causes of her dilated cardiomyopathy, we suggest that they are due to coronary arteritis or cyclophosphamide-induced myocarditis with regard to her past history of myocardial infartion and cyclophosphamide therapy for lupus nephritis. The incidence of dilated cardiomyopathy, complicated with SLE is rare, but it has an increased risk for untavorable outcome. It reserves to pioneer the method of early diagnosis and management which will improved the morbidity and mortality of the disease.
