Thermal efficiency and output in variable cooling water temperature of internal combustion engine was examined. High temperature cooling system, as a methods which have applied in aero-engine, have not tried to application on automoble engine. This paper is a result that the testing on variable temperature of cooling water respond to power output and thermal efficiency of piston type recipro-machinary, automobile engine. The objectives of this examination is for the data of possibility whether high temperature cooling system should be able to automobile engine or not. Cooling water temperature at outlet port from engine set up from 30℃ to 170℃ ans each 20 degree interval as the input farameter for this experiment. The result of thid examination showes that (1), thermal efficiency and power output are significantly increase with cooling water temperature rising, especialy in low degree of throttle valve and low speed range. (2), comparison between current engine(90℃) and high temperature cooling method (150℃) with several figures.
