Due to progress in manufacturing techniques, the performance of the harmonic drive has been improved but not sufficiently. One of the important problems which the current harmonic drive has is that while there is the potential for having a wider tooth contact area, the total number of teeth engaged simultaneously is still small. This is mainly due to the involute tooth profile. Hence, in this study, the cycloid-type tooth profile is developed to improve this problem. This paper represents the design methodology and performance evaluation f the cycloid-type harmonic drive. Cycloide tooth profile was derived by analyzing geometry of the tooth engagement and the contact mechanisms of the tooth which were examined and analyzed by load analysis. The stress due to elastic deformation of a flexspline was also obtained by approximate formula and computer analysis. Finally, the cycloid-type harmonic drive with 1:100 speed ratio was manufactured and the performance of the harmonic drive was evaluated.

기술준비수준(TRL)은 미항공우주국(NASA)에서 1995년 처음 제안되었다. TRL의 정의는 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 제품에 적합하도록 변형되어 사용되었다. 많은 국가 연구개발사업은 이와 유사한 평가기준을 가지고 있으나, 전문가의 개인적 역량에 따라 평가결과가 많은 영향을 받게 되며, 상대적으로 개발기술의 성능과 시작품의 신뢰성도 낮은 편이다. 본 연구의 목적은 부품소재사업에 TRL을 적용하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 부품소재사업에 적합한 TRL 개념을 정의하고, 기술 분야별로 세 가지로 나누어 구체적으로 다시 정의해 보았다. 이렇게 정의된 TRL 개념의 적용 가능성을 검토하기 위하여 2007년도 신규 제안서의 TRL을 평가하여 보았다. 이로부터, 부품소재사업 신청 과제들에 대한 TRL 특성을 알 수 있었으며, TRL과 같은 객관적인 R&D 사업 관리 요소 도입의 필요성을 인식할 수 있었다. 이를 위하여, 향후 기술 분류의 세분화를 통한 구체적인 TRL 판단기준을 개발하는 것이 중요한 요소이다. Technology Readiness Levels were initially proposed by NASA in 1995. TRL's definition and range were modified within adopted fields such as hardware and software products. Many national R&D programs have similar evaluation conditions. However, they are influenced by the experts' ability. Relatively, they have shown the little reliance and the low performance of the developed prototype and technology. The purpose of this study is to apply the TRL to the materials and components development program. We defined TRLs for the program and devided them in three technology fields. Proposals, which were submitted for the program in 2007, were assessed with our TRL definitions for the study on the applicability. As a result, we could understand the characteristic TRLs of the technical proposals to the materials and components development program. This shows that the objective tools such as TRLs are required as the R&D program management factors. For the sake, it is the important factor that the detail directives to assess TRL should be developed according to the branches of industrial technology fields.

High precision speed reducer which has a cycloid or involute teeth profile, used to in Robot. In this study, suggest to a new teeth profile, which has basically a triangle teeth profile. We had a stress analysis compare to convenient speed reducer for teeth profile. We has a good results in new teeth profile for strength, stress and stiffness.

하모닉 감속기는 산업용 일반 감속기와는 달리 높은 감속비와 정밀 제어가 필요한 곳에 사용되므로 조립, 측정시스템 등 적용분야의 요구특성에 충분히 만족되어야 한다. 특히 로봇 등과 같이 정밀제어가 요구되는 경우에는 백래쉬가 없어야하고, 효율, 위치결정과 회전 정밀도면에서 우수한 성능을 가져야 하며 아울러 높은 감속비에서도 큰 토크 전달이 가능한 강성과 내구성 등이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 감속기의 주요 시험항목중 로스트 모션과 강성 등의 전달특성 시험 시스템을 활용하여 사이크로이드 치형을 갖는 하모닉 감속기에 대하여 로스트 모션을 측정하여 감속기의 강성을 측정하였고 각도전달시험을 통하여 감속기의 전달특성을 시험하였다. Harmonic drive has an excellent characteristics such as high reduction ratio and good efficiency. Also, it has compact size compared with any other speed reducer, In this paper performance evaluation of a harmonic drive with cycloide teeth profile was studied. Performance was evaluated by testing non load driving torque, transmission efficiency and transmission torque loss for driving type. Results of test show that continuous driving values of transmission torque loss are larger than those of step driving, and non load driving torque has similar pattern with transmission torque loss.

The hydroforming process is rapidly gaining popularity in the sheet metal forming industry. In this study, hydroforming process is applied to the seat back frame. The load-deformation characteristics of seat frame are simulated according to the test requirements by FMVSS. Structural analyses were performed with an analysis package program named I-DEAS for the conventional and the hydroforming seat back frame. The seat back frame made by hydroforming is not only about 23 percent lightweight, but also about 20 percent high strength compared with conventional that.
