인공 지능체의 감정을 표현하는 기법으로 제안된 RIDE(Robot Intelligence with Digital Emotion) 감정 표현 기법은 기존의 James-Lange 이론과 Cannon-Bard 이론을 모두 수용하며 Schafter-Singer 이론에서 제기된 감정의 연상 작용을 가능하도록 하는 감정의 기억을 수용하는 모델이다. 또한, 감정 간의 유사성과 상대성을 규정하여 인공 지능체 간의 감정 교류가 가능하도록 되어 있다. In this paper, we propose a representation method of emotions in RIDE(Robot Intelligence with Digital Emotion) project. The method used in RIDE not only represents the emotional state in James-Lange Theory but also represents that of the Cannon-Bard Theory. Furthermore, our method allow the memorization of an emotion so as to process the self-inflicting emotion mentioned in the Schafter-Singer Theory. We also allow the similarity and differences in the characteristics by compaing of two emotions.

본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 객체지향 데이타베이스 관리 시스템인 BADA-Ⅲ에서 제공하는 스키마 관리기의 설계 내용을 기술한다. BADA-Ⅲ 스키마 관리기는 사용자가 생성한 클래스들의 단일 계승을 지원하여, 단일 스키마의 진화를 기본으로 하는 스키마 변경 연산을 제공한다. 또한 스키마를 변경할 때, 인스턴스 객체에 즉각 반영하는 즉각 갱신 방법을 채택하고 있다.

Sensor node"s mobility brings new challenges to data dissemination in large sensor networks. Frequent location updates of sensor nodes can lead to both excessive drain of sensor"s limited battery supply and increased collisions in wireless transmissions. Conventional studies for routing protocols in wireless sensor networks are not enough to cover energy consumption and migration of sensor nodes. This study proposes a dynamic routing protocol based on the SPIN considering energy consumption and the migration, and also shows the effectiveness of the proposed routing protocol.

바다 - Ⅲ / C++ : 바다 - Ⅲ 에서의 C++ 결합 방법

본 논문에서는 한국전자통신연구소에서 개발중인 바다-Ⅲ 시스템, 즉, 고속 정보 통신망을 이용해 데이타베이스 서비스를 지원하는데 적합한 멀티미디어 객체지향 데이타베이스 시스템 중 C++ 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하는 바다-Ⅲ/C++에서 채택한 데이타베이스 시스템과 C++ 언어의 결합 방법에 대하여 서술한다. 기존 관계 데이타베이스 시스템에서 데이타베이스 언어를 프로그래밍 언어에서 사용시 발생했던 불일치성을 제거하기 위해 객체지향 데이타베이스 시스템에서 연구되어온 방법들을 비교, 분석하여, 바다-Ⅲ 시스템에서 채택한 방법에 대하여 서술한다. 바다-Ⅲ 시스템에서는 이식성, 유지 보수성 및 표준화에 중점을 두어 ODMG-93 에서 제시한 방법을 채택하기로 한다. 부분 결합 방식으로, 영속클래스의 계승에 의해 영속성을 부여하고, 영속 객체의 참조는 이중포인터 방식을 이용하고, 클래스의 정의는 C++ 클래스 정의문을 이용한 유틸리티 방식을 채택한다.

본 논문은 망 환경의 클라이언트-서버 DBMS를 위한 멀티미디어 확장 SQL Call Level Interface(CLI)의 개발을 기술한다. SQL CLI는 클라이언트-서버 환경에 적합한 데이타베이스 응용 프로그래밍 인터페이스로서, 현재의 표준 사양에는 멀티미디어 데이타의 처리 기능이 충분히 명시되어 있지 않다. 본 논문에서는 첫째, CLI의 멀티미디어 확장을 제안하고 평가한다. 본 확장은 현재의 CLI 표준 사양에 멀티미디어 데이타에 대한 분할전송 연산, 부분연산, 그리고 유출/유입 연산을 수행하는 새로운 함수들의 추가로 구성된다. 둘째, 제안된 멀티미디어 확장 CLI를 한국전자통신연구원에서 개발한 바다-II DBMS 상에 개발한 결과를 기술한다. This paper describes the development of the SQL Call Level Interface(CLI) with multimedia extension for a client-server DBMS in the network environment. The SQL CLI is a database application programming interface for the client-server environment, whose current standard specification lacks the multimedia data handling capability. In this paper, we first propose and evaluate the multimedia extension of the CLI. New functions are added to the current CLI standard specification to support segment transfer, partial, and export/import operations of the multimedia data. Secondly, we describe the development of the extended CLI on top of BADA-II DBMS developed at ETRI.

With the recent improvements in information and telecommunications technologies, we expect revolutionary changes in the way of collecting information. That is, digital libraries will be one of the most important sources of information in the next century. To build a digital library today, we have to solve many problems such as intellectural property, the interoperability, etc.. However, one of the most important subject will be the management of the information once a digital library is in operation. With the huge amount of multimedia data generated in nowadays, effective management of a digital library will be no small task. The management problem of digital libraries can be alleviated using proper S/W tools. Traditionally, DBMS have been the tools of managing huge databases. A DBMS will bring many advantages to the management of digital libraries. In this paper, we will discuss such advantages together with the recent changes in DBMS technologies.

GSS 보안 기법은 다양한 운영체제 및 사용자가 혼재되어 사용하게 되는 SAN 기반의 시스템에 적절한 인증 시스템으로 독자적인 인증 시스템이 아니라 시스템 또는 사용자가 요구하는 인증 시스템을 호출하여 보안을 수행한다. 이 논문은 GSS 보안 기법에서 서버에 보관하도록 되어 있는 신분증명(Credentials)의 관리에 대해 제안한다. The GSS(General Security Service) provides a security service by selecting an appropriate authentication system from a list of authentication systems using SPENGO algorithm. Such mechanism is well suited in SAN(Storage Area Network) environment where various mix of operating systems and file systems can be stored. This paper proposes a credential management mechanism to be used the GSS in the SAN environment.

SAN(Storage Area Network) has many advantages in light of growing demands on the network based storage systems. One of the main obstacles to clear before having the network based storage systems is the integrity and protection of the data in such systems. In this paper, we present the loopholes of SAN and the working solutions for such deficiencies. Next, we present the advantages of IP SAN with VPN security.

The Bound of Optimal Solution for the Classical Ladder Problem

사다리 이동 문제는 오랜 기간 동안에 연구 되어온 문제이다. 지금까지 알려진 최적 해법은 trapezoid을 이용한 Ο(n²log n)복잡도를 이용하였다. 이론적으로 사다리 이동 문제는 Ω(n²log n)의 복잡도를 갖는 것으로 알려져 있어 보다 나은 해법에 대한 연구가 수행되었으나 별다른 소득을 보이지 못하고 있었다. 이 논문에서는 사다리 이동 문제의 이론적 최적 해법은 Ο(n²log n)임을 보여 trapezoid algorithm이 이론적인 최적 해법임을 보였다. 이어서 Reachability Graph(RG)를 제안하며 RG의 복잡도는 trapezoid를 이용한 것과 같으나 훨씬 작은 노드들로 이루어져 실질적으로 훨씬 유용함을 보인다.

중요도 기반의 네트워크형 가상현실 시스템의 설계 및 구현

오디오, 비디오를 취급하는 네트워크형 가상현실 시스템에서 가상공간의 품질은 사용 가능한 네트워크 및 컴퓨터의 자원에 크게 영향을 받는다. 본 논문에서는 가상공간의 품질을 제어하기 위해 IoP(Importance of Presence) 개념을 도입하고 이를 실제 네트워크형 가상현실 시스템에 적용하여 구현하였다. Due to the heavy use of multimedia data such as audio and video, the quality of a networked virtual reality (NVR) system largely depends on the availability of system resources such as CPU power and Network bandwidth. In this paper, we have proposed a measure, IoP(Importance of Presence), to quantify the quality of an NVR system. This measure has been applied to build a cyber shopping mall.
