Subfertile 정자처리에 Modified Mini-Percoll 방법의 효용성에 관한 연구

Semen preparation for Assisted Reproductive Technology(ART) involves the separation of the motile sperm from non-motile, dead sperm, cellular debris and seminal fluid. The aim of this study is to compare the motile sperm recovery rate and motility index of different sperm preparation method(swim-up method, 80% isotonic continuous percoll method, two-layer discontinuous percoll method, mini-percoll method). In Mini-Percoll method, pellets from patients were suspended in 0.3ml of medium and layerd on a discontinuous percoll gradient consisting of 0.3ml each of 50, 70, 95% isotonic percoll. All semen samples are divided into normal and subnormal sperm group(oligo-, astheno-, oligoasthenozoospermia). Especially, we evaluated the effect of mini-percoll method in subnormal sperm group. In normal sperm group, mini-percoll method and two layer discontinuous percoll method (40%/80%) allowed increasing of motile sperm recovery rate. But motility index was higher in swimup method than the other methods. In subnormal sperm group, mini-percoll method has advantages as compare with the other methods in motile sperm recovery rate and motility index. These results suggest that modified mini-percoll method could be certainly a valuable tool in some cases of severe male factor sperm.
탐구적 과학 글쓰기 수업이 초등학생의 탐구 능력과 과학 태도에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of science writing heuristic (SWH) instruction based on Tolumin`s structure of argument, on students` science process skills and scientific attitude. In the instruction, unstructured problems were selected with issues to be argued, in which interactions among students are stressed. This research involved 58 students of 5th grade at an elementary school, and divided them into an experimental group with 29 and a control group with 29. The former was treated with instruction using argumentation as SWH, while the latter with conventional ways of instruction. Science process skills and scientific attitude were compared between the two groups and within each of the groups. The results implied that science instruction using science writing heuristic is effective in improving learning science process skills and scientific attitude.
하지 신경ㆍ진동 잡음 자극이 균형 조절 능력에 미치는 영향

연구배경: 최근 균형 조절 능력을 호전시키기 위해 지속적인 촉각 자극을 주거나 진동 깔창 등을 이용한 몇몇 연구들이 이루어진바 있다. 본 연구에서는 발과 발목부위에 자체 제작한 잡음공명을 이용한 역치하 진동 자극이 청년 및 노인에서 균형 조절 능력의 향상을 가져오는지 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 청년 20명(평균 27.78세)과 노인 20명(평균 62.65세)을 대상으로 양말 내측의 전극이 발바닥 뒤쪽 1/3지점에 2개, 다리 원위부 앞부위, 뒤 근힘줄 부위에 각각 1개씩 양측 발에 부착시키고, 가변저주파(0~100 Hz)에 백색 가우스 잡음(Gaussian White Noise)이 가해지도록 컴퓨터에 연결하였으며 진폭은 대상자의 역치하(sub-threshold)로 하였다. 자세 조절 평가 시스템은 불안정판, 힘판, 안전 지지대, 안전띠, 모니터 및 컴퓨터로 구성되었으며, 불안정판 위에 힘판을 설치하여 피험자의 압력 중심점의 이동을 측정하였다. 대상자를 불안정판 위에 서도록 한 후, 모니터에 위치한 원안에 압력중심점을 30초간 유지하도록 하였다. 자세동요의 정도를 알기 위해 원안에서의 압력중심점 유지시간, 동요면적, 동요거리를 측정하였다. 평가는 진동 자극을 준 상태와 없는 상태에서, 시각적 피드백을 준 상태(VF), 눈을 뜬 상태(EO) 및 눈을 감은 상태(EC)로 각각 3회 반복한 평균값을 결과로 하였으며, 모든 평가는 무작위로 시행되었다. 결과: 진동 자극 시 노인에서는 특히 EC에서 자세 동요의 유의한 감소를 보였고, 청년에서는 대부분의 경우에서 자세 동요의 유의한 감소가 없었다. 진동잡음 자극 제공시 청년군과 노인군에서의 균형조절 향상의 정도의 비교에서는 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 노인에서, 특히 시각적 피드백이 없는 균형 조절이 더 어려운 경우 진동잡음 자극에 의한 균형조절능력 향상이 더 크게 나타났다. 따라서 진동자극은 보행이나 일상생활과 같은 동적 상태에서 균형을 유지하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단되며 추후 말초 신경 병변이나 뇌손상 환자 등 자세 균형 조절 능력에 어려움이 있는 환자를 대상으로 한 연구가 필요할 것이다. Background: To investigate whether using a self-developed vibration socks, attached to the feet and ankles, that give a sub-threshold vibration stimulus improves balance control abilities in young and old people according to the presence of visual compensation. Methods: Subjects were composed of young people and old people they were given vibration socks to wear through which sub-threshold vibratory noise stimulation was given. Subjects stood on an unstable board and had to keep the center of pressure (COP) within a circle displayed on a monitor for 30 seconds. To evaluate the degree of disturbance in posture, the maintain time of the center of pressure within the circle, the area and distance of COP sway were used. The evaluation was conducted with and without vibratory noise stimulation, with and without visual feedback and with the eyes open and closed. Results: When vibratory stimulations were given, young people showed not improve in postural balance at all visual condition. Old people showed a significant improve in postural balance in absence of visual feedback when the vibratory stimulation was present. In comparison of young people and old people, there was not significant difference of balance control. Conclusion: In the presence of vibratory stimulation, there was an improvement in maintaining posture balance in old people in conditions of the absence of visual feedback. Therefore it can be concluded that vibratory stimulation can help maintain balance in dynamic conditions such as walking or day to day activities. Additional researches on patients that have difficulty in controlling postural balance, are needed in the future.
옥상물탱크 경유에 따른 수돗물 수질 변화 및 직결급수방식 도입에 의한 수질개선 효과 연구

In order to compare the effect of water quality on two service systems, tank and direct connection service, we selected randomly 30 rooftop tanks installed in the buildings with five or fewer floors, and collected water samples from each tank as well as tap water by direct service. At the same time each tank was investigated on their cleanliness and sanitary control. 30 water samples from direct service met Korean Drinking water quality standard. But 5 tank water samples(17%) were not able to meet Coliform or Total Colony Counts standard and free chlorine of 12 tank water samples(40%) were less than 0.2㎎/L. Also Fe, Turbidity, TOC, Total Algae in tank water were higher than tap water on direct service. We concluded that thorough health control of water tank is necessary and conversion into direct connection service results in improving tap water quality importantly.
