본 연구는 5명의 여성과학인을 대상으로 그들의 성장기 환경에 대한 의미를 살펴보고, 여성과학인으로서의 공통적인 특성에 대해 살펴봄으로써 부모와 유아교사로 하여금 유아기 과학적 경험과 태도의 중요성을 깨닫고 가정과 교실현장에서 활용할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적을 두고 수행되었다. 면담을 통해 수집된 자료의 분석결과 첫째 연구대상은 유아기부터 가정과 기관에서 과학과 관련한 놀이를 개방적이고 자율적으로 경험하고 있었으며, 가족구성원과 교사의 끊임없는 격려와 긍정적인 지지를 받고 있었다. 둘째 연구대상은 주면 환경에 대하여 호기심을 갖고 관찰하고 실험하고 예측하는 과학의 과정을 실천하고 있었으며 호기심. 인내와 끈기의 과학적 태도를 보였다. 또한 섬세함과 꼼꼼함을 여성성의 장점으로 인식하여 문제 상황에 대처하는 한편 과학인과 여성의 역할에 대한 균형을 유지하기 위해 노력하는 것으로 나타났다. This study show the characteristics of female scientist drawn from a survey of their childhood education in order to provide the groundwork to educate teacher and parents. The data for this study was collected from in-depth interviews of five female scientists. The results are as follows. First, subjects experienced the play related to science in toleratant and self-controlled family atmosphere and support from family members and teachers. Second, subjects were interested in their environments and implemented the process of science in their life, which indicats that they had scientific attitudes. In addition, to subjects have recognized the effects of gender and scientifically applied it to their life. on the other hands, subjects have tried to balance our their roles as a scientists with their roles as women.
