Information obtained from DFD(Data Flow Diagram) are very important in system maintenance, because most legacy systems are analyzed using DFD in structured analysis. In our thesis, we propose an algorithm for deriving design sequence of database tables based on DFD. We present an idea for transformation of DFD into a directed graph, design a method for removing cycles in it, and complete our algorithm by combining them with topological sorting algorithm. We show practicality of our algorithm by applying it to a system in operation.
자료흐름도를 사용한 테이블 설계순서 추출기의 설계 및 구현

현재 운용되고 있는 리가시 시스템에 대한 요구명세서는 대부분 자료흐름도를 사용하고 있어, 시스템의 유지 보수를 위해서는 자료흐름도로부터 획득한 정보에 의존하지 않을 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 자료흐름도로부터 데이터베이스 테이블 설계순서를 추출하는 추출기를 설계, 구현하였다. 추출기는 자료흐름도를 입력 받아 저장하고, 이를 방향그래프로 변환하여 데이터베이스 테이블 설계순서를 추출하여 제시한다. 구현된 추출기는 실제 운용 중인 소프트웨어 시스템에 적용함으로써 실제 적용가능성을 보였다. Our extractor gets DFDs as input data, transform them into a directed graph, and extract design sequence of DB tables. We show practicality of our extractor by applying it to a s/w system in operation.
Vienna Definition Language를 이용한 실행 가능한 Specification 구성 방법

본 논문에서는 요구 분석 및 설계 단계에서 널리 사용되고 있는 자료흐름도를 표현하기 위하여 실행 가능 명세 언어인 EXERSL을 제안하였으며 이것을 사용하여 자료흐름도에 대한 실행 가능 모델(executable model)을 추출해 냈다. EXERSL의 연산적 의미(operational semantics)를 Vienna Definition Language로 정의하엿고, 실용성을 입증하기 위해 이러한 VDL 정의를 수행기로 구현하였다. We propose an EXEcutable Requirements Specification Language (EXERSL) to accurately express data flow diagrams which are widely used in system analysis and design. A requirements specification written in EXERSL serves as an executable model for the diagrams, The operational semantics of this specification language is defined using Vienna Definition Language (VDL) and those definitions are implemented in the form of an EXERSL executor in order to show the practicality of EXERSL.
RDB환경에서 테이블 변경에 따른 유지보수용 도구인 MATTAC의 개발에 관한 연구

We develop a Maintenance Tool for Table Change (MATTAC) under RDB environment. Our tool finds positions to be updated in 4GL programs and reports them when Tables of current DB are changed. We design efficient algorithms for finding positions affected by those changes by using Finite Automata, and implement it using C language on Sun Workstation. MATTAC consists of 4 portable components, so it can be easily implemented for other systems.

When an applicant may submit several applications for Entrance Examination, it is very important to supplement candidates fast and correctly after first public announcement of successful candidates. We propose a model for supplementing candidates and show correctness of it in a strict method. Proposed model is based on Finite Automata, as a result, it can be implemented reliably and productively. In order to show usefulness of our model, we develop a S/W system using it. INFORMIX-4GL language is used for implementation in RDB Environment working on Sun workstation.

In this paper, an effective phoneme recognition method for large vocabulary speech recognition system has been studied. VQ(Vector Quantization) is used as a front-end system for HMM(Hidden Markov Model) recognizer. Optimum number of phoneme classes and optimum size of code book for phoneme basis recognition environment has been proved by the result of computer simulation.

An executable specification language for Structured Analysis specification and its execution model are presented. The model is based on Applicative State Transition system and the interpretation of data flow diagram in a viewpoint of data availability. AST system receives at most one input and does not accept until an output is issued. Our model is extended with availability list so that concurrency inherent in DFD can be treated.
