        족삼리(足三里) 봉독약침자극(蜂毒藥鍼刺戟)이 Formalin-induced Pain Behavior 에 미치는 영향(影響)

        This study was designed to evaluate the analgesic effect of bee venom (BV) Acupuncture into different treatment points, Chok-samni (ST36) and blank loci of the gluteal muscle and back. We investigated the changes in formalin-induced pain behavior according to the pretreatment with different concentrations of BV, thirty minutes before the formalin injection. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The formalin-induced pain behavior was suppressed by pretreatment with BV into Chok-samni (ST36) in a dose dependent manner. During the early phase, 0.08mg/kg of BV showed a statistically significant suppression in the formalin-induced pain behavior. Moreover, 0.008mg/kg, 0.016mg/kg, and 0.08mg/kg of BV, except 0.0016mh/kg of BV, had significant suppresive effects on the formalin-induced pain behavior during the late phase. Therefore, these data indicated that the suppressive effect of BV acupuncture on the formalin-induced pain behavior was stronger in the late phase rather than the early phase 2. In order to investigate the analgesic effect of BV acupuncture into different treatment points, the experimental animals were divided into three groups: Chok-samni (ST36) group, gluteal group and back group. In the Chok-samni (ST36) group, the formalin-induced pain behavior during all the phases was significantly reduced as compared with that of the back group. However, as compared with that of the gluteal group, the formalin-induced pain behavior in the Chok-samni (ST36) group was decreased only in the late phase, not in the early phase. The formalin-induced pain behavior in the gluteal group was significantly reduced as compared with that of the back group in the late phase, not in the early phase. We suggested that the analgesic effect of BV acupuncture into Chok-samni (ST36) was most effective among Chok-samni (ST36), gluteal, and the back groups in formalin-induced pain behavior.

        족삼리(足三里) 봉독약침자극(蜂毒藥鍼刺戟)이 척수내(脊髓內) Fos 양성반응(陽性反應) 신경세포(神經細胞)의 활성(活性)에 미치는 영향(影響)

        This study was designed to evaluate the analgesic effect of bee venom (BV) Acupuncture into different treatment points, Chok-samni (ST36) and blank loci of the gluteal muscle and back. We investigated neuronal activity in the spinal cord using the Fos immunohistochemical technique according to the pretreatment with different concentrations of BV, thirty minutes before the formalin injection. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The number of Fos-like immunoreactive (Fos-LI) neurons in L2 segment of the saline-formalin treated group was significantly increased in NECK and VENT of the spinal cord as compared with that of the room control group. However, there was no significant change in the number of the Fos-LI neurons in L2 segment of the BV-formalin treated group as compared with that of the room control group. 2. The number of Fos-LI neurons in L3-5 segment of the saline-formalin group was significantly increased in all the regions of 142 the spinal cord as compared with that of the room control group. However, the Fos-LI neurons in L3-5 segment of the BV-formalin treated group was dramatically decreased in all the regions of the spinal cord as compared with that of the saline-formalin group. Therefore, these results indicated that the BV acupuncture suppressed the nociceptive neuronal activities in L3-5 of the spinal cord induced by formalin injection. 3. There was a strong positive correlation between the formalin-induced pain behavior and the number of the Fos-LI neurons in L3-5 segment.

        Objective : This report is written to inform of the 3rd WHO Informal Consultation on Development of International Standard Acupuncture Points Locations, held in Kyoto, Japan, on October 12-14, 2004. Results : Eight experts from China, Japan and Korea, participated in this meeting discussed the locations and the point finding methods of 92 controversial points based on the fundamental principles established through the 1st and 2nd meetings. Through the discussion in this meeting, agreements were made on most of 92 controversial points, but 8 points(LI12, ST31, PC8, PC9, TE18, LR8, GV1, GV26) still need to be researched in the next meetings. Conclusion : A reasonable and practical International Standard of Acupuncture Point Location for acupuncture education, research and practice is expected to be accomplished in the near future.

        음식섭취에 따른 좌우(左右) 촌관척(寸關尺) 6부위 맥압 변화 연구

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of food intake on radial pulse amplitude. Methods: Thirty one healthy male subjects participated in this study. Radial pulse was measured using 3 dimensional pulse imaging system (DMP-3000) before, right after, 40 minutes after, 80 minutes after and 120 minutes after food intake. Results: 1. The amplitude of h1 increased significantly right after food intake compared to ``before food intake`` at all 6 measuring points. Later on, it decreased back as time passed, however, even 120 minutes later, it was still higher than ``before food intake`` 2. Pulse energy, which is calculated from pulse waves acquired with five sensors, increased after food intake as well. Conclusions: Food intake exerts an influence on radial pulse amplitude, resulting in increase of h1 and pulse energy.

        위정격(胃正格) 및 비정격(脾正格) 자침이 맥파에 미치는 영향 비교 연구

        Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find parameters to compare the effects of Sa-Am acupuncture with stomach-tonification (ST) and Sa-Am acupuncture with spleen-tonification (SP) on radial pulse. Methods : Forty healthy subjects participated in this study. Radial pulse was measured using 3 dimensional pulse imaging system (DMP-3000) before, right after, 30 minutes after, and 60 minutes after acupuncture. Results : 1. The parameters analysed in this study were changed in the same direction with different degrees by ST and SP. 2. In males, SP manipulation showed significantly increased pulse period and (T-T4)/T, and significantly decreased T1/T, T4/T, T4/(T-T4), and F1 F3 frequencies compared to ST. 3. In females, ST manipulation showed significantly increased (T-T4)/T, and significantly decreased F1~F3 frequencies compared to SP. Conclusions : The parameters analysed in this study may be used to differentiate the effects between ST and SP on radial pulse. These parameters are more strongly affected by SP than ST in males whereas more strongly affected by ST than SP in females.

        음곡(陰谷)(KI10)에 시술한 오가피(五加皮) 약침(藥鍼)이 난소적출 생쥐의 골다공증(骨多孔症)에 미치는 영향

        Objective: The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of herbal-acupuncture with Acanthopanacis cortex extract (AC-HA) at KI10 (Eumgok) on osteoporosis in ovariectomized (OVX) ddy mice. Methods: We carried out several experimental items to analyze the changes in body weight, uterine weight, uterus index, tibial Length, the ash bone weight, tibial BMD, serum ALP, serum creatinine, serum osteocalcin, serum Ca, and the Levels of Ca, P, Ca/P ratio in tibia, and we performed histological and histomorphological analysis as well. Results: Tibial BMD was significantly decreased by OVX, while significantly increased by AC-HA at KI10. Serum creatinine Level was significantly increased by OVX, while significantly decreased by AC-HA at KI10. Serum osteocalcin Level was significantly increased by OVX, while significantly decreased by AC-HA at KI10. Tibial TBV(trabecular bone volume) was significantly decreased by OVX, while significantly increased by AC-HA at KI10. AC-HA at KI10 significantly suppressed the OVX-induced increase of GPL(growth plate Length) of tibia in mice. Conclusion : These results suggest that AC-HA at KI10 has a therapeutic effect on osteoporosis in OVX mice.

        음곡(KI10) 편축 약침의 LPS 유도 급성신장염 억제 효과

        Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Polygoni avicularis Herba Herbal-acupuncture(PaH-HA) at KI10(Umgok) on nephritis induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS) in rats. Methods: Rats were allocated into normal, control, and 3 experimental groups. The rats in the control group were intra-peritoneally injected with LPS for nephritis induction. The rats in the groups of experiment 1, experiment 2, and experiment 3 were treated with single needle prick, saline injection, and PaH-HA, respectively at KI10 three times for a week and then injected with LPS. To evaluate the effects of PaH-HA at HI10, WBC count in blood, serum CINC-1, renal TNF-α and renal MPO were measured. Results: Needle prick at KI10 suppressed the increase of WBC in blood and CINC-1 in serum of LPS-stimulated rats. Saline injection at KI10 suppressed the increase of WBC in blood. PaH-HA at KI10 suppressed the increase of WBC in blood, CINC-1 in serum, and MPO in kidney of LPS-stimulated rats. Conclusions: PaH-HA at KI10 has an anti-inflammatory effect on LPS-induced nephritis in rats and there may be a synergism between KI10(Umgok) stimulation and PaH-HA Solution.

        CCl4로 유발된 흰쥐 간손상에 대한 삼황혈(三黃穴) 수기침자극(手技鍼刺戟)의 간기능 보호효과

        Objectives: To investigate the hepatoprotective effect of manual acupuncture at Sam-hwang points on hepatotoxicity in CCl4-intoxicated rats. Methods: Rats were injected intraperitoneally with CCl4(1㎖/kg) and treated with manual acupunctrue at left Sam-hwang points 3 times a week for 10 weeks. A non-acupoint in left Gluteal area was selected as a sham point. Acupuncture was performed by an experienced acupuncture doctor using tonifying manipulation technique. To estimate the effects on hepatotoxicity, body weight and liver weight of rats were measured, and biochemical assays(ALT, AST, ALP, Total cholesterol, etc.) and blood cell analysis were performed. Results: Manual acupuncture with tonifying technique at Sam-hwang points reduced liver weight, ALT, AST, ALP activities and total cholesterol in serum significantly compared with control group. In blood cell analysis, WBC and lymphocytes were reduced but neutrophil was increased by manual acupuncture at Sam-hwang points in rats. Conclusions: Manual acupuncture with tonifying technique at Sam-hwang points has an hepatoprotective effect on CCl4-induced liver damage in rats.

        삼음교 유침, 저주파 및 고주파 전침의 전.후 처치가 실험적으로 억제된 흰쥐의 장운동에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to compare the effect of acpuncture and electroacupuncture of low(EA(L)) and high(EA(H)) frequencies at San Yin Jiu($SP_6$) and sham point in rats. We made suppressed state of intestinal motility with loperamide in rat and carried out needle retention acupuncture, low frequency electro-acupuncture and high frequency electro-acupuncture at ($SP_6$) in rat devided into pre-treatment group and post-treatment group. We fed charcoal to them after the treatment and measured the travel rate of charcoal in the gastrointestine track to analyze which treatment affected more in intestinal hypermotility Results : 1. Examining intestinal motility of normal rat treated with electro-acupuncture at $SP_6$, high frequency electro-acupuncture significantly increased intestinal motility. 2. Pre-treated with acupuncture at $SP_6$ significantly suppressed intestinal motility. 3. Post treatment with acupunture and low frequency electro-acupuncture at $SP_6$ showed significant increase of intestinal motility. Conclusions : As folowing study there were 21 groups to find out which treatment showed significant increase of intestinal motility and pre-treated acupuncture, post-treated with acupunture and low frequency electro-acupuncture at $SP_6$ was highly significant with control at the figure than any other groups.

        한열허실변증(寒熱虛實辨證)을 이용한 비정격(脾正格) 적응증 고찰

        Objectives & Methods : We investigated the cases for which spleen tonifying Sa-Am acupuncture was applied in ${\ulcorner}$Sa-Am-chim-gu-jeong-jeon(舍巖鍼灸正傳)${\lrcorner}$ and classified them according to the concepts of cold-heat & deficiency-excess for a better understanding of the application of spleen tonifying Sa-Am acupuncture. Results : 1. Tonification of Spleen Sa-Am acupuncture can be used to treat heat syndromes such as deficient fire caused by collapse of the spleen qi, stagnation of evil qi or spleen yin deficiency, by way of tonifying spleen qi, activating the flow of qi and blood or harmonizing spleen yin and yang. 2. Tonification of Spleen Sa-Am acupuncture can be used to treat cold syndromes such as weakness of spleen yang by way of promoting fire to generate earth, strengthening spleen yang and raising the clear yang. 3. Tonification of Spleen Sa-Am acupuncture can be used to treat deficiency syndromes such as malnutrition or poor appetite caused by spleen deficiency by way of tonifying spleen qi. 4. Tonification of Spleen Sa-Am acupuncture can be used to treat excess syndromes such as stagnation of qi and blood, abdominal mass or toxication by way of tonifying spleen qi and promoting the flow of qi and blood.
