신소설 <빈상설(鬢上雪)>에 나타난 윤리가치 혼재 양상

이 논의는 동농 이해조의 신소설 <빈상설(?上雪)>을 대상으로 근대계몽기 윤리의 가치혼재 양상 및 당대 윤리관과 현실 사이의 불일치를 구체화하였다. <빈상설>은 구소설의 권선징악적 모티프를 갖고 있지만 선인과 악인의 모습은 구시대의 전형성에서 벗어난다. 선한 인물들은 고난을 의지와 선택으로 타개하는 적극성을 보여준다. 악인들은 당면한 조건을 날카롭게 분석하고 이를 처세에 이용하는 근대적 특성을 갖고 있다. 이해조가 인물의 표현을 위해 중시한 점은 바로 ‘윤리학’이었다. 특히 그가 『기호흥학회월보(畿湖興學會月報)』에 발표한 논설 <윤리학(倫理學)>은 명분과 실익의 괴리가 극심했던 당시 가치의 간극을 조율하고 해소하려는 고민의 결과였다. 윤리학의 핵심인 실천성은 근대적 학교 교육과 <빈상설>을 필두로 한 초기 소설을 통해 구체화된다. <빈상설>은 기존의 가치관이 붕괴되고 새로운 가치관이 미처 성립되지 못한 시기를 살아가는 사람들을 내세워 보수적 삶의 무기력과 이익만을 추구하는 삶의 패배를 동시에 비판한다. ‘구’와 ‘신’은 혼돈의 상태이며 양자의 관계는 결국 동전의 양면이다. <빈상설>을 통해 작가는 새롭게 유입된 가치들이 기존의 논리를 보완할 가능성과 근대적 가치들이 현실화되며 벌어진 폐해를 봉합할 가능성을 동시에 찾는다. 이해조는 권선징악의 도식을 재생산하는 대신 변모하는 시대와 변화하는 인간관계를 위해 새로운 윤리 기준을 모색하였다. This study maternalized the mixture of ethical values during the modern enlightenment period and the contradiction between the ethical view of the time and reality based on Binsangseol, Lee Hae-jo"s "Sinsosul," or new novel. Practice, the ethical value to which he attached importance, was emphasized in modern school education and his early novels, starting with Binsangseol. In Binsangseol, both the helplessness of traditional ethics and the failing of life seeking only benefits are described through characters at the time when modern values were not formly established. Furthermore, the novel does not follow an old typical way in expressing good people and bad people, though it has the age old, typical theme of the good triumphing over the evil. The characters face hardships, but carve out their destiny with strong will. Evil characters sharply analyze objective situations based on rationality and use them to make their life best. The active embrace of ethics is the effort to alleviate the difficulty of conventional values facing the contradiction between rationale and practical interest. Through Binsangseol, Lee Hae-jo explores the possibility of supplementing modern values and the possibility of resolving harmful effects detected during the settlement of modern ethics. He fundamentally examines such possibilities instead of accepting and reproducing the theme of the good triumphing over the evil. Such examination was an experiment on new social ethics created by changing human relations under the under the periodical change rather than the clear conflict like confrontation between old and new.

한국여성학과 지역 여성주의의 모색

한국여성학의 발전을 위해서는 지역여성의 구체적 현실에 대한 관심과 이를 반영한 이론적 관점이 필요하다. 이 글은 지역여성 연구의 위상을 살펴보고 지역 여성주의 관점의 중요성과 특성을 논하고 경남지역 여성운동 사례를 중심으로 검토하였다. 중앙과 지역의 이분법을 지양하고 여성주의의 차이와 다양성, 지역의 주체성, 역동성을 한국여성학이 중요하게 다루어야 한다는 점을 경남지역 여성운동을 중심으로 접근함으로써 지역여성주의의 모색가능성을 살펴본 것이다. 한국 여성주의의 중앙과 지역의 관계는 불균등 발전을 해 왔다. 그러나 이를 단순히 이분법(발전/비발전)으로 볼 것이 아니라 중층적으로 보면서 지역여성의 경험을 주체적으로 이해해야 한다. 지역 여성주의는 중앙의 시선에 의해 외부로부터 규정되었던 지역에서 벗어나 지역내부, 지역적 차원에서 여성경험의 특성과 지역여성의 다양성과 다층성, 주체성에 관심을 두고 접근하는 것을 의미한다. 여성학과 지역여성운동이 어떻게 연대하고 소통할 것인지, 지역여성의 경험을 드러낼 수 있는 효과적인 방법은 무엇인지, 연구자들간의 학문공동체 네트워크는 어떻게 가능한지 등 지역 여성주의의 관점에서 보다 적극적으로 관심을 가지는 것이 한국여성학의 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것이다. Attention to local women’s realities and theoretical perspective for local women are needed in order to develop the women’s studies in South Korea. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the current situation of the studies about local women and to look at the activities of women’s movement in Gyeongnam province at a local feminist point of view in order to show the local women’s realities. This paper tried to deal with the difference and diversity, regional identity, dynamic aspects of local area rather than the dichotomy between development and non-development and emphasized the importance of the studies of local women’s realities. The local feminism are interested in the local women who differently experienced in the locational context of spaces. In contrast to the universalizing and homogenizing notion of feminism, this notion of local feminism emphasizes the specificities and multiple natures of women’s realities in local area. The local feminist point of view will be able to contribute to the development of women’s studies in South Korea. So we should consider the ways such as research networks among academic community, communications between the women’s movement and women’s studies and the effective approaches to reveal the experience of local women.

지역여성운동의 조직과 성격

경남여연은 경남지역을 중심으로 여성문제 전반에 주된 관심을 두고 있는 지역여성운동단체연합이다. 이 글은 사회운동에 대한 이론적 자원들을 이용하여 경남여연의 조직과 성격을 살피고 이를 지역여성운동의 정체성 논의와 관련시켜 보았다. 구체적으로 첫째, 지역여성운동의 인적, 물적 자원동원은 어떻게 이루어지고 있나? 둘째, 지역여성 운동의 조직구조는 어떠하며 소속단체의 성격은 무엇인가? 세째, 지역여성운동의 활동은 무엇이며 어떻게 전개되고 있나? 네째, 지역여성운동의 연대는 어떻게 이루어지고 있나? 다섯째, 지역여성운동의 세력화는 어떠한가? 등을 살펴보았다. 연구방법으로는 경남여연 정기총회 자료 및 지역신문 등을 이용한 문헌연구, 설문지를 이용한 조사연구, 관련단체 인터넷 홈페이지 검색, 단체 관련자와의 전화 및 전자메일, 심층면접을 통한 자료수집 등 다양한 방법을 이용하였다. 연합체운동으로서 어려운 점이 있음에도 불구하고 지역에서 활동하고 있는 다양한 여성운동단체의 목소리를 하나의 창구로서 압력화하고 조직대응하는 연합체 운동은 지역사회 안에서 여전히 유효하다고 하겠다. 앞으로의 전망과 과제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경남여연은 인적 자원과 재정적 자원의 지속적인 확보 뿐 아니라 경남지역의 현실과 관련하여 대중조직으로서 어떤 프로그램을 어떻게 만들 것인가에 따라 그 가능성과 한계가 달려 있다고 보여진다. 둘째, 지역여성운동의 특징에 따른 연대의 문제로 지역여성운동은 여성운동에서 제기된 차이에 기반한 소통과 연대라는 과제를 실천해 나가야 할 것이다. 셋째, 지역수준에서 지역여성운동 활동가, 여성정책 담당자, 지역연구자들로 이루어진 지역여성정책네트워크가 보다 활성화될 필요가 있다. There are ten women's organizations perfoming various activities in Gyeongnam Women's Associations United. The main purpose of this paper is to examime the current conditions and the characteristics of women's movement organization in community focused on Gyeongnam Women's Associations United in relation with the organization's identity, issue and the resource mobilization. Using survey and interview, this paper tries to examine following questions. What are the characteristics of women's movement in terms of the members, issues and organizational structure? What is the current situation in terms of solidarity among women's movement organizations on local level? What are processes of personal and financial mobilization of women's movement organizations? What are the concrete activities by women's organizations? With regard to the prospects of local women's movements, suggestions are as follows. 1. The possibilities and limits of women's movements in Gyeongnam province depend on the personal and financial resources. In addition, program for women should go well with the conditions and needs of women in Gyeongnam Area 2. Women's movements need to clarify the contents of their activities and to formulate the movement agenda which can contain the daily interest of women in this community. So it requires a strategy of solidarity in consideration of difference. 3. Women's Network among activists, femocrats and scholars on local level is very important

지역여성운동의 조직과 세력화의 전망

이 연구의 목적은 경남여성회 사례를 중심으로 지역여성운동의 조직변화와 자원동원 현황을 살피고 이를 지역여성운동의 세력화와 관련하여 검토하여 전망과 과제를 제시하는데 있다. 주요 질문은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역여성운동의 성립과정과 활동, 인적·물적 자원동원은 어떠했나? 둘째, 지역여성운동의 조직변화과정과 제도화의 특성과 성격은 무엇인가? 셋째, 이러한 자원동원과 조직변화과정은 지역여성운동의 세력화의 맥락에서 어떻게 평가할 수 있나? 앞으로의 전망과 과제는 무엇인가? 이 연구는 경남여성회라는 한 지역여성운동단체에 대한 사례 연구이지만 한국 지역여성운동의 성립과정과 활동, 조직변화과정의 특성과 성격 등을 구체적이고 심층적으로 알 수 있다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있으며 지역여성운동 및 사회운동연구의 지평을 넓힐 수 있다. 지역여성운동 세력화의 전망과 과제와 관련한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역여성운동의 세력화는 소모임의 활성화와 다양한 일상활동을 통한 조직의 확대와 분화 과정 속에서 이루어졌다. 그러나 조직의 정체성을 어떻게 유지할 것인가, 소통이 원활한 조직구조를 어떻게 만들 것인가 등이 지역여성운동의 향후 세력화에서 중요한 과제이다. 둘째, 차이에 대한 인정과 다양한 활동을 통한 인적 자원의 동원과 활동가의 안정적인 충원, 운동리더십이 중요하다. 셋째, 지역여성운동의 제도화와 세력화의 관계는 지금까지는 긍정적인 면이 좀 더 컸다고 할 수 있으나 향후 어떻게 여성운동의 자율성을 유지할 것인가 하는 점이 중요하다. 넷째, 여성운동의 대중화와 관련하여 풀뿌리 활동이 보다 가능한 조직을 어떻게 만들어 나갈 것인가를 모색해야 한다. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the prospect for empowerment focused on Gyeongnam Women’s Associations in relation with the organizational change and resource mobilization. The questions are as follows. What are the programs and resource mobilization in the development of women’s movement organization? What are the characteristics of women’s movement in terms of institutionalization and the change in organizational structure? What is the prospect for empowerment in relation with organizational change and resource mobilization? With regard to the prospect of local women’s movement organization in terms of empowerment, suggestions are as follows. First, the organizational identity and communication in consideration of member’s difference are very important in the expansion and differentiation of women’s movement organization. Second, the empowerment in women’s movement depends on the continuous recruitment of members and the role of activists and their leadership. Third, women’s movement organization was developed with the politics of institutionalization in terms of finance. But women’s movement organization tris to keep the autonomy from the government. Fourth, various programs for women should go with the conditions and needs of women in Gyeongnam Women’s Association in order to make grass-root local women’s movement organization.

한용운 시의 초월성(超越性)과 세속성(世俗性)

본 연구는 『님의 침묵』을 초월성과 세속성의 관계양상으로 구명하고자 하여 이를 세계관과의 관련성, 작품에 나타난 인식적 층위, 표현적 층위로 나뉘어 분석하였다. 그간 한용운의 시는 종교적 깨달음과 시적 역설을 주된 분석기준으로 삼아왔는데, 본 논의가 초점화한 초월성과 세속성은 이러한 기준의 연장선이자 변별화이다. 한용운 시의 세속성과 초월성은 작가의 사상적 바탕인 불교 철학과 깊은 상관성을 갖고 있다. 주해서나 산문을 통해 짐작할 수 있는 그의 언어관은 시론을 추출하기에 적절한 근거이다. 작자는 여러 산문을 통해 언어에 대한 견해를 밝힌 바 있다. 그는 언어가 초월 세계를 나타내기에 근본 적 한계가 있지만 그럼에도 언어 없이는 초월이 불가능함을 적시하였다. 세속 경험은 초월 경지로 나아가기 위해 버려야할 것들이지만 세속을 통하지 않고서는 초월도 불가능하다. 감각적 수사와 풍부한 정서를 활용한 세속언어는 초월로 도달 할 하나의 방편이다. 방편 활용을 위해 작자는 일상의 경험을 ‘님’과 ‘사랑’에 대입한다. 세속적 시간과 공간, 만남과 이별, 그리움과 사랑 등 다변화 하는 오욕칠정은 감각적 표현에 힘입어 구체성을 갖고, 극단화된 세속성은 초월로 도약하는 매개항 역할을 한다. 그러므로 한용운의 시적 인식은 세속의 세계와 초월의 세계가 둘이 아니며 하나도 아닌, 변증법적 하나라는 세계관을 보여 준다. 동일하지 않지만 둘이 아닌 초월성과 세속성의 속성은 비유, 응축, 암시 등의 시적기법을 통해 효과를 얻게 된다. 구체적 대상과 맺는 관계와 감정의 세속경험은 수행자가 깨달음으로 가기 위해 거쳐야 할 필수 단계이기도 하다. 세속 경험은 수행의 부분을 이루고 이를 통해 다시 깨달음의 세계로 닿을 수 있다. 추상적 사유와 초월적 경지를 대중에게 전파하기 위해 한용운은 세속의 언어를 선택 하였고 이를 다양하고 화려한 표현과 자유로운 형식으로 펼쳐 놓았다. This study set out to investigate Silence of Lover in transcendence and secularity, and to classify the two features into world view, epistemic layer, and expressive layer for the investigation. Han, Yongwoon"s poems had been written focusing on poetic paradox based on religious enlightenment, and the transcendence and secularity of the study were also to examine Silence of Lover. First, transcendence and secularity shown in Han, Yongwoon"s poems had a great correlation with Buddhology. Particularly, the thought of language in Siphyundamjuhae(『십현담주해(十玄談註解)』) was the foundation of Han, Yongwoon"s poetic theory. There was a limit to express transcendence by using language, but it was impossible to reach the transcendence without the language. Secular experiences should be also given up for transcendental realms, but it"s impossible to reach the transcendence without going through secular society. Second, sensible rhetoric and plentiful emotion could be interpreted through the above mentioned thought of language. Han Yong-woon defined secular daily life as falling in love with lover. Poetic expression including secular time and space, meeting, falling in love and parting with lover, and longing for the lover had made reach transcendental realms, Third, internal recognition in his poetic work showed the unity of secular society and transcendence. Language was used to reveal the unity of secular society and transcendence, and implication by trope and condensibility showed effectively the features of transcendence and secularity. Secular expressions which contained daily human affairs and sensibility, a relation with lover, and a skinship with her, had led to the conclusion of enlightenment by regarding secular experiences as the course of practicing asceticism. To introduce Buddhist priest"s highly condensed abstract thinking and transcendental realms to the public, Han, Yongwoon had used highly poetic expression and free form by selecting secular languages.
