The ballast, one of track components, plays an essential role as intermedium in transmitting train load to subgrade safely, and the deterioration of ballast directly effects the growth of track irregularity. In this study, we determined the main factor of ballast deterioration was miniature of ballast gravel caused MTT(Multiple Tie Tamper) works and accumulated traffic loads. Toestimate the deterioration characteristics of ballast, we carried out field test through track construction for test and the model test simulating the actual operation environment, have done a comparative analysis with the sample"s result(crushing rate) of high-speed railroad runningactually.

The ballast, one of a track components, plays an essential role as intermedium in transmitting train traffic-load to subgrade safely, and deterioration of ballast caused by cumulative load effects growth of track irregularity. Especially in the case of Gyeongbu high-speed railway, the deteriorating speed of ballast by dynamic vibration is faster than conventional line because KTX is longer than normal trains in length and it"s velocity is very fast with high speed of 300㎞/h as well. In addition, ballast is a nonlinear material contrary to ordinary metal which has homogeneous property and this property of ballast may cause transformation of ballast. Therefore the theoretical modeling of ballast is quite complicated and it is hard to ensure the reliability of the result. The objective of this paper is to examine the availability of GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar) in estimating the thickness and the degree of deterioration of ballast. First, We figured out the principle of GPR which is the technique of evaluating the condition of ballast and then analyzed data which were measured at Gyeongbu high-speed railway where KTX is running now.

The ballast, one of track components, plays an essential role as intermedium in transmitting train load to subgrade safely, and the deterioration of ballast directly effects the growth of track irregularity. So far, gravel fining of ballast track was mainly related to the repetition of train loads, but was gradually increased with using MTT(Multiple Tie Tamper) recently. Therefore, in this study, an evaluation of the abrasion and crush process of ballast particles was performed with outdoor field test by MTT works. From this study, the amount of abrasion and crush of ballast particles appeared to increase linearly with MTT works, and the gradient of particle size distribution curve appeared to deviate gradually from a criterion of aggregated ballast size distribution in high-speed railroad.

At this current, KORAIL track maintenance system has been worked with the method of corrective maintenance which is repaired some location exceeded the track management criteria as a result of track measurement. It brings about a lot of additional expenses that the corrective maintenance might be a way of missing an appropriate maintenance time, after occurring some trouble on the track due to track maintenance characteristic. We sincerely need a track maintenance system including the concept of preventive maintenance that track is corrected with predicting the trend of track irregularity. I would like to present a development direction for Korea track maintenance system having a good application in our track with analyzing TRAMS21 and RAMSYS as overseas railway company has operated a track maintenance system.

In the field of maintenance of domestic high-speed railroad which has cost a great deal more than any other fields since it was opened; 1) We found out the conditions of current domestic railroad by understanding the status of track maintenance and analyzing operative processes of track maintenance. 2) The main factors in track maintenance of high-speed railroad, that is, the elements for success to help decision-support in track maintenance were derived from a research on literature about the condition of railroad R&D in these days and about the prediction of the irregular progresses of track. 3) We derived the order of priority and weights from AHP analysis which was based on the survey regarding elements for success.
부직포를 활용한 급경사 녹화보강토공법의 적용 가능성에 관한 연구

선진국 진입의 길목에 있는 우리나라는 급경사면 축조 및 유지관리에 심혈을 기울이고 있으나, 급경사면 축조를 위해 철근콘크리트 옹벽이나 보강토 옹벽(블럭식, 판넬식) 등이 시용되어지고 있다. 이러한 구조체는 전면형태가 콘크리트 벽체로서 미관의 한계성과 친환경성이 부족한 상태이다. 본 연구는 녹화를 병행할 수 있는 식생토체를 형성하고 현장에서 발생된 불량토를 보강재(부직포) 감싸기(wrapping)방법을 적용한 80°의 급경사 성토체를 현장에서 직접 축조하였으며, 보강성토체에서 발생될 수 있는 수평변위, 침하량 및 법면에서 발생된 토압 등에 대한 계측을 실시하여 분석하였다. 이러한 보강성토체의 계측 및 시간경과에 따른 법면의 식생활착 등에 대한 조사결과, 향후 녹화가 가능한 급경사 보강토 구조물에 대한 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. The steep slopes have been increased of new roads, industrial site development and large scale residential development. The preservation administration and steep slope construction are currently investigated by many researchers in Korea. However, concrete retaining wall or reinforced soil (i.e. Block or Pannel) are being applied for the steep slope, which results in the front face form of the structure being limited. This research investigates the method that can make up afforestation environment-friendly circumstances during the construction of steep slope structure. It is considered that steep slope reinforced structure would be possible based on the monitoring results about earth pressure, horizontal displacement and consolidation quality generated during the construction of whole constructing reinforced structure. Also, there no problems in grassy surface, drainage, and deformation in spite of rainy season after construction period and until now. So that the seeding soil layer surface reinforced soil method could be adopt for steep slope reinforced structure and others.
