A case of rapidly grown, huge ovarian cyst in an 18-year old woman is presented with a brief review of literature. This tumor was measured 30x40x45 cm in size, and weighed 13kg. The pathologic diagnosis was mucinous cystadenoma, left ovary.

The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of microstructure and pre-strain on shape memory effect(SME) and transformation behavior in an Fe-32Mn-6.5Si alloy. The alloy was annealed at various temperatures from 600 to 1200℃ for 1 hour to vary microstructure after cold rolling. Shape memory effect and reverse transformation behavior were examined through bending test and TMA after deforming the alloy with various degrees of pre strain Austenite grain size increases with an increase in heat treatment temperature, except the specimen heat-treated at 600℃, which remains unrecrystallized. The specimen heat-treated at 600℃, retaining cold rolling effect, exhibits the best SME due to a high Md temperature. In the recrystallized specimens, the larger grain size, the better SME. As grain size increases, the reverse transformation range becomes shorter, indicating that reverse transformation takes place with less constraint. The better SME in a large grain size can be attributed to the easiness of the reverse transformation.

This Paper is about the Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) control and monitoring system, which brings protection against the corrosion of the ship's hull in the sea. Protection of the ship's hull can be made because iron's corrosion potential can be transferred to an immunity range when the ICCP system compels a protective current to be sent to the ship's hull. The ICCP system is composed of a power supply, anode, reference electrode and controller. AC sources from the ship's generator are converted to DC sources in terms of power supply, and a protective current is sent to ship's hull though anode. The controller operates to increase the protective current at the anode if the value of the detected potential is lower than that of the setting potential, but it operates to decrease it if the former is higher than the latter. The controller fully senses whether or not the detected potential is within a range of protection and then it is automatically controlled to increase or decrease the amount of protective current to be sent to the anode. The monitoring system with RS 232/485 communication is also studied in order to check the normal state of the system at a long distance, because an operator does not always watch over this system and thus the system cannot operate well because of his or her negligent management. I suggest that this system can accomodate a vessel's automation and will be very useful.
