This study presents a development of the cleaning system in a nuclear power plant condenser. The tube cleaning system is very important equipment in a power plant condenser. Specially, removal of the fouling is a key process in the condenser tube. The objective of this study is development of a ball collector system for cleaning a condenser by using a sponge ball. This study uses CFD in order to optimize design of the ball strainer screen. Through the CFD, the implication of the ball strainer screen for static pressure distribution is examined. Results of research, this study have developed a 1/5 scale model for application to the power plant and developed a performance test equipment.

From the flow analysis of the silencer for 8 kW diesel generators, the following results were obtained. For silencer-1, it was confirmed that the holes formed at the inlet-side portion connect into the exhaust pipe in the chamber. The exhaust pipe installed inside silencer-1 was integrally connected through the holes in the chamber. As a result, it was confirmed that the pressure inside the chamber was kept stable. It was confirmed that the pressure loss generated inside an absorptive type silencer such as silencer-2 was small. The differential pressure of the inlet-outlet of silencer-1 and silencer-2 was confirmed to be 494 Pa at 15 m/s, 859 Pa at 20 m/s, 1326 Pa at 25 m/s, and 1911 Pa at 30 m/s.

This study is about the distributions of flow in an air conditioning duct used for marine and oil drilling ships. Three-dimensional steady state turbulence was assumed as a governing equation for describing the flow in the air conditioning duct in this study. We compared the flow field with the pressure distribution according to the inlet velocity for two types of air conditioning duct, and stress and safe factors were simulated using ANSYS W/B. The result of fluid analysis showed an increased pressure drop in the duct according to the inlet velocity. Furthermore, secondary flow and complicated flow characteristics occurred at the bellows zone.

This study is about distributions of flow in a ventilation system used in a louver for marine. In this study, to describe the flow in the ventilation opening louver, 3-dimensional steady-state turbulence was assumed to govern the equation. The flow field with pressure distribution according to the inlet velocity at the louver types is also compared. Flow analysis was performed for the louver numerical analysis on two types. The numerical analysis results in the louver blade indicated increased flow resistance at type-1.

This study describes the development of a 1-inch cryogenic glove valve for an LNG pumping system and localization development achieved through the performance test. The cryogenic valve used in the LNG pumping system plays an important role in maintaining a flow rate by LNG transportation. This trial manufactured goods, which was achieved through reverse engineering and developing the assembly process. The result of the leak test satisfied the internal pressure condition using the 78-bar normal temperature test and maintained the anti-leakage condition. Also, the result of the cryogenic leak test (BS 6364: low temperature test procedure) maintained anti-leakage at -196 and 52 bar, which satisfied the test standards.

In this study, it was grasped to the flow characteristics of injection nozzle installed in high pressure holder for improving productivity. Chip curling occurred during cutting process for difficult-to-cut material detracts product qualities and productivity. Among of method preventing the phenomenon, high pressure injecting cutting oil is an alterative. In this study, the optimal nozzle was designed by CFD method and it was conducted to analyse on the effect of high pressure injection on chip shape generated during cutting process and wear of insert by experimental method. As the result, it could be confirmed that high pressure injection is favorable for preventing chip curling and insert from wearing.

This study is on SCR reactor, NOx reduction system in Marine that has been an issue nowadays. Especially design data was obtained by numerical on flow uniformity that is one of the design factor in SCR reactor. Also pressure drop on catalyst size inserted into SCR reactor was compared by experiment and numerical analysis. S/W, numerical analysis used for this study was confirmed that the result of numerical analysis used STAR-CCM+, common use CFD code, pressure drop on catalyst is not big different from the result of numerical analysis. In addition, degree of uniformity of liquid on SCR reactor was over 0.9. Whereas it was assured that degree of uniformity of liquid was changed depends on the shape of pipe at the entrance of SCR.

This study is about comparison of thermal and flow characteristics on the wind & radiant heat shield with STS mesh type screen for offshore. Numerical analysis was conducted to find transmission coefficient in the mesh and then analyse the flow characteristics about wind & radiant heat shield. The experiment method of solar radiation has been used as thermal radiation source to get the performance of radiant heat shield measurement. The sensor radiation device has been used to measure the reduction of solar radiation with various size of cells and at a distance of 0.5m and 1m from the cold face of the wind & radiant heat shield.

In this research, to cope with the exhaust being reviewed to establish legal regulations for domestic small vessels, a basic experiment on an exhaust emissions post-treatment system was conducted to construct the design data required for securing a localized technology. The data was secured based on the arithmetic mean calculated through setting the engine load to 25%, 50%, and 75% and conducting five. A 2800-cc turbo charger diesel-type engine was used in the experiment, and an engine dynamometer was used in the conducted tests. As a result, NOx was reduced by approximately 20% and PM was reduced by approximately 97%. Although the results indicated no significant changes to CO in test mode-1, it was greatly reduced as it transitioned into the next phase.
