A case of disseminated lymphoblastic lymphosarcoma is reported in an aborted bovine fetus 7 month in gestation. Grossly, numerous tan firm nodules, 2 to 5 mm in diameter were scattered throughout the myocardium and skeletal muscle. The corticomedullary junction of the kidney was discolored to whitish tinct. Histologically, compact sheet of monomorphic lymphoblastic lymphoid cell infiltration was noted in the myocardium and skeletal muscle. Neoplastic cell infiltration was also noted in the corticomeullary junction and deep cortical regions of the kidney, lung and the liver. This is believed to be the first reported case of lymphosarcoma in an aborted bovine fetus in Korea.

Neospora caninum infections have been associated with neonatal paresis as well as abortion around the world. Bovine abortion induced by N caninum was first reported in 1997 in Korea. Diagnosis of N caninum infection is usually based on histopathology and immunohistochemical detection of organism. However, often the tissues having lesion suggestive of N caninum infection were negative on immunohistochemistry. Here, we describe establishment of PCR-based diagnostic strategy for N caninum infection using DNA extracted from paraffin blocks containing the lesion. PCR was able to amplify N caninum-specific bands from the paraffin blocks containing at least moderate degree of inflammation. Compared to paraffin-blocks, DNA extracted from fresh tissues were less sensitive than that of paraffin blocks. This PCR-based method can be practically applicable for rapid diagnosis of bovine N caninum infection with high specificity and sensitivity. Based on this method, 17% of bovine abortion surveyed during a designated period was associated with N caninum infection.
천음속/초음속 Projectile 에 관한 실험적 연구

Two-stage light-gas gun has a large number of applications in various fields of engineering. A two-stage light-gas gun can produce an extremely high pressure in a very short interval of time. In general, the twostage light-gas gun is made up of a high pressure tube, a compression tube and a launch tube, each stage being separated by diaphragms. In the present study, by using a technique schlieren visualization, visualize to the projectile of launched by two-stage light-gas gun. Experiments are carried out to investigate visualization of the flow around the projectile according to angle and mach number of projectile. As the result, small angle and large mach number of projectile were created a strong shock wave.

This can be employed efficiently in the application of ultra-high pressure liquid jets. In the present study, experiments are carried out toinvestigate the projectile velocity and visualization of the flow around the projectile. As a result, the mach number increased from 0.98 to 1.70 and the flow around of projectile was visualized.

과팽창 로켓 노즐에서 발생하는 충격파 경계층 간섭형태는 엔진 시동 및 정지 과정중 예기치 않은 횡력 변동을 수반한다. 본 연구에서는 노즐의 형상 및 구동 압력비의 변화가 유동장의 천이 형태 및 횡력 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 수치해석적 연구를 수행 하였다. 3 종류의 노즐 모델의 유동장 변화를 비교하였으며, 노즐의 구동 압력비를 변화하여 엔진의 시동 및 정지과정을 모사하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 실험적 연구 결과와 잘 일치 하였으며, 공동를 적용한 Ideal nozzle 형상에서 횡력이 발생할 것으로 예상된다. The shock wave and boundary layer interaction patterns in an over-expended rocket nozzle are associated with the production of undesirable side-forces during the start-up and shut-down processes of the engine. In the present work, computational study was carried out to investigate the effect of different nozzle shapes on the flow fields during the transient nozzle pressure ratio(NPR). Three shape of the nozzle on the flow fields, were employed during the startup and shut-down processes. The results obtained well predicted previous experimental data and side-force were expected in the shape of the ideal nozzle with cavity.

Exergy is defined as the energy that is available to provide useful work. Exergy analysis is performed in industries to use energy more efficiently. Application of the exergy concept in describing various heating and cooling systems enables us to have a better picture of the systems. Inlet fogging is an evaporative cooling technique for turbo machinery. In this paper energy and exergy analysis is made on the inlet fogging system employed in the inlet air cooling of turbo machines. Different ambient conditions are considered in the analysis.
