Gagné의 DMGT모형을 통한 석주명의 영재성 발현 기제 연구

본 연구는 탁월한 학문적 성취를 이룬 과학자의 전기적ㆍ생애적 연구를 통해 나타난 영재성의 발현 기제를 살펴보기 위해, 그의 위인전, 역사기록, 학술지 등을 분석하는 '내용분석법'의 질적 연구방법을 적용하여 살펴보았다. 그리고 Gagné의 '영재성과 재능에 대한 차별화(DMGT) 모형의 틀에 기초하여 석주명의 영재성 발현 기제를 분석하고 영재교육에 미치는 교육적 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 연구결과를 종합정리하면, 첫째, 영재성(G)에서는 석주명은 언어능력과 창의성(유창성, 독창성)이 뛰어났으며, 사회정서적으로 활달한 성격과 리더십으로 학술 탐험대에서 대장으로 팀을 이끌었다. 둘째, 개인내적촉매(IC)인 내적 동기, 가치, 노력, 철저한 자기관리 등은 영재성 발달과정에 지대한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 환경적 촉매(LC)로 주위 환경과 다양한 인간관계(어머니, 지도교수, 선교사 등)가 영재성 발현에 영향을 주었다. 넷째, 우연 혹은 기회의 촉매(CH)는 개인내적촉매(IC)와 함께 상호작용을 한 요인이 되었다. 다섯째, 발달과정(LP)에서 제도적이고 체계적인 학습이 영재성 발현에 좋은 영향을 미쳤다. 이와 같이 석주명과 같은 탁월한 성취를 남긴 인물들의 재능 발달 요인은 향후 영재성의 발현 기제를 이해하고 영재학생을 위한 지도방안과 프로그램에 유용한 교육적 시사점을 제공하고 있다. This research applied an qualitative research method of 'context analysis', which analyze one's biography, historical records and journals to find out manifestation mechanism of an academically outstanding scientist's giftedness through his biographical and lifetime researches. And this study was to analyze manifestation mechanism of giftedness of Seok Ju-myeong and to draw educational implications to gifted education. To sum up this research results, first, Seok Ju-myeong had a linguistic ability and creativity(fluency, originality) and leaded a academical expedition party as a commander with his social emotional outgoing personality and leadership. Second, inner motivation, value, effort and strict self-discipline of individual catalyst(IC) affected his giftedness development process. Third, he has a relation ship with surrounding environment and various people (a mother, an academic advisor and a missionary etc.) of environmental catalyst(EC). Fourth, chance (CH) was a factor interacted with intrapersonal catalyst(IC). Fifth an ,institutional and organized learning in informal/formal learning & practicing(LP) helped to reveal his giftedness. Likewise, the factors developing talents of excellent achiever such as Seok Ju-myeong help people understand manifestation mechanism of giftedness and give them useful materials and implications to teaching method and program for gifted students.
