In this study, the probability of plaque rupture was considered in terms of peak radial stress and peak radial stress gradient. In particular, when the peak radial stress gradient was considered, it was possible to explain phenomena that cannot be explained by conventional stress alone, including the rupture of caps > 65 μm and the occurrence of rupture at stress distributions < 300 kPa (the critical rupture stress). A numerical simulation using idealized plaque of each type and mechanical behavior analysis demonstrated that plaque rupture is affected by plaque type. It can be concluded that a higher probability of rupture can be expected when high stress and a high negative stress gradient occur near a thin fibrous cap.

In designing Vacuum Insulation glazings(VIG), edge conduction is an important factor in reducing the energy efficiency from insulating effect. In this study, edge structure made up of thin-steel for increasing heat transfer path was proposed to reduce edge conduction. Finite element models composed of soda-lime glass, stainless steel and solder glass was constructed using edge seal and thin-steel, respectively. After analytic validation was carried out, thermal and structural performance was analyzed for pillar array and thickness of glasses. As a result, with increasing pillar array and thinning glass thickness, total heat transfer coefficient is reduced and stress tend to increase.

To understand the mechanism of the development of pressure ulcer, it is important to know contact pressure between human body and mattress. In this study, we generated simplified finite element model of human. We also generated a diversity of shape and material with FE model of mattress, and then we performed numerical analysis in contact condition. In this result, we found correlation between several condition of mattress and contact pressure in FE model of human.

Plant design program is fairly large-data program which is mostly used for plant design engineering. So other part or division except for performing the design department is difficult to use plant design program. It is hard to share software information with external part or related departments. In other tosolve this problem, it is necessary to have a convert data lightweight technology which utilizes the geometry information or other drawings information in software designed data. In this study, both structure properties and geometric element can be connected and expressed, by matching shape corresponding SAT shape in XML range based on the information in the XML and SAT in order to reduce weight of shape information in SP3D(plant design program). Through this study, by reducing large capacity data’s weight, Technology of CAD data format Conversion to check rapidly design information of plant was developed.
