        Effects of Total Mixed Fermentations with Bean Curd Dregs on Growth Performance of Growing Hanwoo Heifers

        본 연구는 비지박을 이용한 섬유질발효사료(TMF) 급여가 육성기 한우 암소의 증체, 사료섭취량 및 체형변화에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 수행하였다. 6개월령 한우 암소 30두(평균체중125.9±12.0 kg)를 공시하여 3처리로 각각 10마리씩 완전 임의배치하여 6개월간 사양시험을 수행하였다. 처리구는 T1 (볏짚 자유급여와 배합사료(체중1.7%/일) 제한급여구), T2(TMF 자유 급여구) 및 T3 (TMF, 볏짚 자유급여와 배합사료(체중 1.0%/일) 제한급여구)로 수행하였다. 섬유질발효사료는 비지박 60%, 옥분 16.5%, 밀기울 10.4%, 볏짚 5%, 왕겨 7%, 요소 0.5%, 고토석회 0.5%, Lactic acid bacteria 0.1%를 첨가하여 제조하였다. 섬유질발효사료의 화학적 성분과 pH 값은 저장 0, 24, 48 및 72시간에 측정하였다. 비지박을 이용한 TMF의 저장기간에 따른 결과에서 건물, 조지방, 및 조섬유의 함량은 차이가 없었다. 저장 72시간에서 ADF 및 NDF함량은 0시간에서 보다 각각 9.52 및 3.15% 유의적으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). pH 또한 저장시간에 따라 점점 감소하였다. 체중, 사료섭취량 및 일당증체량은 TMF 급여구(T2, T3)에서 T1급여구 보다 높았다(p<0.05). 체형변화에 있어서도 T1처리구 보다 TMF 급여구가 높았다(p<0.05). 따라서 본 연구의 결과 비지박을 이용한 TMF 사료의 급여는 육성기 한우 암소의 발육을 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. This study was conducted to determine the effects of total mixed fermentation (TMF) with bean curd dregs on body weight gain, feed intake and body size of growing Hanwoo heifers. Thirty Hanwoo heifers, 6 months of age and weighing 125.9±12.0 kg, were randomly allocated to 3 experimental groups of 10 animals each for a 6-month feeding trial. The groups were T1 (rice straw offered ad libitum with restricted (1.7% BW/day) concentrate), T2 (TMF only offered ad libitum) and T3 (TMF and rice straw offered ad libitum with restricted (1.0% BW/day) concentrate). TMF feeds were composed of 60% bean curd dregs, 16.5% corn meal, 10.4% wheat bran, 5% rice straw, 7% rice hulls, 0.5% urea matter, 0.5% magnesia lime and 0.1% lactic acid bacteria. The chemical composition and pH value of TMF feeds were measured at 0, 24, 48 and 72 hr after storage. In TMF with bean curd dregs, there were no differences in concentrations of DM, EE, and CF according to storage periouds. The ADF and NDF at 72 hr of storage time showed a significant decrease (9.52 and 3.15 %, respectively) compared to 0h of storage time (p<0.05). The value of pH was gradually decreased during the storage periods. Body weight gain, feed intake and average daily gain were higher in the TMF groups (T2, T3) compared to the T1 group (p<0.05). Changes in body size were also higher in the TMF groups compared to the T1 group (p<0.05). Thus, the present results indicate that TMF with bean curd dregs may help improve growth performance in growing Hanwoo heifers.

        소 재조합 somatotropin 단백질을 이용한 한우 유량 증진 효과

        This study was carried out to increase the breeding rate using sustained recombinant bovine somatotropin (bST) and examine the reproductive disorder and disease prevalencies of cow and calf, respectively. Sixty cows were allotted randomly to three groups in randomized complete block design; (1) No treatment, (2) 500 mg bST two times + 250 mg bST SC injection five times from 3 weeks before to 9 weeks after parturition every two weeks, (3) 500 mg bST two times before 3 weeks parturition + 250 mg bST SC injection three times from five to 9 weeks after parturition every two weeks. Developmental data of birth weight, weaning weight, total gain and average daily gain in control was 22.9±3.45 kg, 88.0±11.13 kg, 65.1±9.74 kg and 0.54±0.08 kg, respectively. There is no significant difference between Group 1 and 3 in the examined factors. However, there is significant difference between Group 1 and 2 in the birth weight (24.4±2.88 kg), weaning weight (101.0±11.77 kg), total gain (76.7±7.9 kg) and average daily gain (76.7±7.9 kg). Total gain was showed higher in Group 2 and 3 than Group 1 in the >2nd parity, and in Group 2 than Group 1 and 3 in the 1st parity. There is no significant difference in the BCS, no return days and disease occurrence of cow and calf by bST treatment. Number of service per conception was slightly increased in the Group 3 compared to Group 1 and 2. To increase the breeding ability of Hanwoo, it is recommended that 500 mg bST two times + 250 mg bST injection five times from 3 weeks before to 9 weeks after parturition every two weeks.

        한우와 젖소 신생 송아지의 말초혈액 림프구아군 특성비교

        The present study was undertaken to establish reference values for the composition blood lymphocyte populations and compare forty three Hanwoo neonatal calves (KC) with twenty one Holstein calves (HC) by blood cell count and immunophynotying. The percentages of CD2+, CD4+, CD8+, CD26+, ACT2+, MHC class, MHC class II and WC1+ T cells, B cells were determined by flow cytometry. The number of lymphocyte and monocyte in HC were higher than those of KC. However, the number of neutrophils was higher in HC than KC. The proportions of CD2+, CD4+, CD8+, MHC class, and WC1+ lymphocytes remained relatively stable during the study period, while there was a moderate increase in the relative percentage of CD26+, ACT2+, MHC class II and B cell from birth to approximately 3 weeks of age. Marked differences in the relative proportions of the lymphocyte subpopulations were noted between the individual calves. The present study shows that the T-cell subpopulations are present in peripheral blood of KC at levels comparable with HC, while the MHC class II and B cell population of KC increases significantly with age. The absolute number of WBC in KC was due to the decrease of absolute number of neutrophil rather than the increase of lymphocyte. The results indicated that KC have significantly higher number of neutrophils, and proportion of MHC class II and B cell than HC.

        임신말기 자궁내 발육상태와 자궁적출 시기가 특정질병 제어 형질전환 복제동물 생후 생존에 미치는 영향

        Bioorgan transgenic cloned mini pig has a problem of growth retardation in uterus during end of pregnancy so that survival rate is very low in newborn piglet. In order to support their life after birth, cesarean section of fetus with sufficient growth in uterus was tested in this study. First of all, fetus growth measured using a ultrasound scanner during pregnancy in transgenic mini pig, comparing normal pig. After 113 days for delivering, fetus was removed out of uterus. Fetus growth for normal pig was 1.8 cm at 4weeks and 14.4 cm at end of pregnancy (15 weeks). At 113 days, fetus growth was 15.9±4 cm in ultrasound scanner and real growth measurement from fetus removal out of uterus was 16.0±2 cm. It is very a similar result between measurement of ultrasound scanner and real measurement. Therefore, using ultrasound scanner for measuring fetus growth will be useful to predict fetus growth in uterus.

      • Studies on In Vitro Maturation of Pig Follicular Oocytes

        본 실험은 돼지난포란의 체외성숙과 체외수정 효과를 높일 수 있는 방법을 찾기 위하여 시도 되었으며 직경 1-2㎜와 3-7㎜ 난포로부터 채란된 난자를 mKRB(-BSA)에 돼지발정 혈청(ESS), FCS 또는 투석돼지난포액(DFF)을 첨가한 성숙배양액에서 24-48시간, 37℃에서 배양하였다. 성숙된 난포란은 정소상체정자와 24시간 배양 후 전핵형성 여부를 조사하였다. 36-48시간 배양에서 50-60%의 난자가 metaphaseⅡ에 도달되었고 난포크기(1-2㎜와 3-7㎜) 간에 체외성숙률의 차이는 없었으나 3-7㎜ 난포란에서 성숙분열이 다소 빨랐다. 체외성숙배양액에 5% ESS,15% FCS 및 DFF 첨가시 대조구보다 다소 성숙률이 높았다. 체외수정율(전핵형성)은 5% ESS와 15% FCS 첨가 성숙시킨 난포란과 체내 수정능획득 정자와의 수정에서 각각 높은 경향이 있었다. 따라서 돼지난포란의 체외성숙과 수정에 ESS,FCS 및 투석난포액이 유효한 요인이 됨을 알 수 있었다. Experiment were designed to define and optimize efficiency of a system whereby pig follicular oocytes could be matured and fertilized in vilro. The pig oocytes removed from 1-2㎜ and 3-7㎜ follicles were cultured in vilro in mKRB(-BSA) solution containing estrous sow serum(ESS),FCS or dialyzed pig follicular fluid for 24 to 48h at 37℃. The oocytes matured in vilro were evaluated after epididymal spermatozoaoocytes incubation for 24h for pronucleus formation. 50-60% of the oocytes reached metaphaseⅡ during 36 to 48h of culture. There was no difference in oocytes maturation between two groups of follicular size but meiosis was slightly faster in the 3-7㎜ follicular oocytes. The oocytes matured in mKRB(-BSA) plus 5% ESS, 15% FCS or dialyzed follicular fraction showed slightly higher maturation rates than the control mKRB. In vilro fertilization, pronucleus formation, tended to be increased when mKRB(-BSA) plus 5% ESS or 15% FCS was used for oocyte maturation and in vivo-capacitated spermatozoa were inseminated, respectively. It is concluded that ESS,FCS and dialyzed pig follicular fluid may be effective factors for in vilro maturation and fertilization of pig follicular oocytes.
