Backgraound and Objectives : The voice change can occur in acute epiglottitis or peritonsillar abscess, and the labelings of both changes as a "muffled voice" or "hot potato voice", The aim of this study was to investigate the difference of changes in acoustic feature of voice before and after treatment in patients with acute epiglottitis or peritonsillar abscess. Subjects and Method: 13 patients with acute epiglottitis and 12 patients with peritonsillar abscess were enrolled in the study. Acoustic analysis on sustained Korean vowels /${\alpha}$/, /u/ and /i/ were performed before and after treatment. Results: In patients with acute epiglottitis, the first formant frequency (F1) of /${\alpha}$/ was increased, and the second frequency (F2) of /i/ was decreased. In patients with peritonsillar abscess, F1 and F2 of /${\alpha}$/ were decreased. F1 of /i/ and /u/ were increased, while F2 were decreased. Conclusion : The anatomical and functional changes of oropharynx and larynx by acute epiglottitis and peritonsillar abscess can cause different change in resonance and speech quality. We suggest that these changes could be the cause of 'muffled vocie' in patients of acute epiglottitis or peritonsillar abscess, but different characteristics of phonation in each disease should be distinguished.
GPU를 이용한 고속 스페클 제거 알고리즘에 관한 연구

합성 개구면 레이다(synthetic aperture radar: SAR) 영상 생성 시, 영상의 한 해상도 셀 내에 다수의 산란자가 존재할 경우, 산란자들로부터 반사되어 돌아오는 신호가 상호간에 간섭을 일으켜 영상 내의 화소의 강도를 불규칙적으로 변화시키며, 이러한 불규칙적인 강도를 지닌 화소들을 스페클이라고 한다. 스페클은 화소 탐지 시 오탐지율을 증가시키고, 탐지율을 떨어트리며, 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 스페클 제거 필터들이 개발되었다. 그러나 스페클 제거 성능이 우수한 필터들은 처리 시간이 길어 실시간 처리와 같은 고속 처리가 중요한 상황에서 사용할 수 없었다. 본 논문에서는 스페클 제거 필터의 처리 속도를 증가시키기 위하여 그래픽 처리 장치(graphics processing unit: GPU)를 사용하였으며, 기존의 스페클 제거 필터의 알고리즘을 GPU의 병렬화 연산에 맞춰 최적화시키고, SAR 영상에 대하여 최적화한 알고리즘과 기존의 알고리즘을 수행하여 수행시간 및 필요로 하는 데이터 공간을 분석하였다. When a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image is created, if there are some scatterers in the resolution cell, the reflected signals from the scatterers interfere with each other, causing irregular changes in the intensity of pixels in the image called speckles. Speckles increase the false alarm rate and decrease the pixel detection rate. Therefore, speckle reduction filters have been developed to reduce the influence of speckles. However, filters that reduce large amounts of speckles have a long processing time; therefore, they are costly to use in real-time applications, in which quick processing is crucial. This study used a graphics processing unit (GPU) to increase the processing speed of speckle reduction filters and optimized the existing speckle reduction algorithm to run in parallel with a GPU. Furthermore, we compared the processing time and data capacity of existing and optimized algorithms.

PC 성능의 향상 및 컴퓨터 그래픽스 기술의 발달로 인해 사회 각 분야에서 고품질의 컴퓨터 애니메이션이 점차 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 해저의 풍경을 표현함에 있어 가장 핵심이 되는 어류 객체의 역동적이고 자연스러운 움직임을 표현하는 과정을 모핑 기법을 통하여 구현하기 위한 기준점 적용 보간법을 제안한다. 어류 객체의 꼬리 움직임에 적용시킴으로써 기존 모핑 기법이 가지고 있던 부자연스러운 속도감을 해결하고, 단조로운 움직임을 탈피한 현실감 있는 유영 방식을 구현한다. Due to the improvement in PC performance and the development of computer graphics technology, high quality computer animation in various industrials is on the rise. This study suggests pivot interpolation to realize the process of expressing dynamic and natural motion of fish, the key of expressing the ocean landscape through the morphing technique. By applying fish tail motion, this study solves unnatural speed of the previous morphing technique and realizes the realistic swimming way without simple motion.
다양한 조건에서의 $Ba_{1-x}K_xFe_2As_2$ 박막 제조

Potassium doped $BaFe_2As_2$ superconducting thin films by using an ex situ pulsed laser deposition technique were fabricated in various conditions to find out an optimal growth condition. Controlled conditions were annealing temperature, annealing time, and mass of potassium. The $Ba_{1-x}K_xFe_2As_2$ thin films which has most good quality is fabricated at a condition of annealing temperature at $700^{\circ}C$, annealing time of 60 minutes, and 0.6 g of potassium lumps. In this condition we were able to fabricate good quality films with high transition temperature of ~ 39 K.

As functional requirements of automatic office machines like printers, Automatic Tellex Machines(ATMs), copying machines are on a trend for the higher speed and precision, extensive technical advances are being developed and implemented in the industry. Media transport system is a device to convey a sheet of paper in ATMs and printers. The stability of media transport system is a matter of concern as their operating throughput rapidly increases. And defects of belts or rollers in a transport system directly affect the level of stability of the system. Therefore an automatic diagnostic system for predicting various defects is necessary for the stable operation of the media transport system. A simulation based on multi-body dynamics has been done for a feasibility study of a system design for the defect anticipation.
