신도시 개발에 따른 표면 열섬현상 변화분석 및 도시 형태와의 상관관계

Land cover change due to urban population concentration and urban expansion can cause various environmental problems such as urban heat islands. In particular, New towns are considered an appropriate study site to analyze changes in urban climate due to rapid urbanization in a short period. This study used Landsat satellite imagery to compare and analyze the land cover changes before and after the development of two new towns with different plans, and the resulting changes in surface urban heat island (SUHI) phenomena. Correlation analysis was also conducted between urban structural features that may affect the SUHI intensity. The results of the analysis confirm the rapid change in land cover as new town development progresses and the direct intensification of the SUHI phenomenon. This study confirms the differences in SUHI caused by different urban plans and suggests the need for three-dimensional urban planning to improve the thermal environment.

The English Industrial Revolution which had happened between in the late half of the eighteenth century and in the first half of the nineteenth century became the most important opportunity about the establishment of the modern civil society together with the French Revolution. In addition to the renovation of the technigue and the rapid lasting progress of the unprecedented productivity, new machines are invented in the industrial production and its influence extended to the whole industrial fields followed by the revolutionary change even in the structure of economy and in the structure of industry. So it supplied mankind with the means and the foundation of rich society and overcoming poverty. Therefore European society converted into that of industry and capitalism was completed. Such industrial technique and great change in productivity spread throughout the whole world and today it is continuing with the use of the term “Industrialization”or “Modernization.” But because of its own inconsistency in the capitalistic society and various problems, socialistic ideology came into being. In the period of the Industrial Revolution the technical and the action of the management in the action of the enterprise was experientially accomplished by the pure civil enterpriser. And their subjective and creative action played an important role in the development of the English Industrial Revolution attained by the endogenous process in the first time of history. Modern economic historians including A. Toynbee and P. Mantoux had negative opinions about the labor condition of the working classes and the dispute of the standard of living controversy, but some famous persons such as J.H. Clapham in 1920's or T.S. Ashton in 1930's explained that through the economic growth in the period of the Industrial Revolution suitable and continuing developement showed, and right as well as interests of working people were gradually protected. The change in the manner of the productivity in the period of the industrial Revolution brought about great social and economic reform besides simple technical revolution. Consequently, increase and the movement of population, and reorganization of social classes followed. That is, new classes such as the owner of a factory and the working classes appeared, and between there two classes petit bourgeoisie came into being.

제1차 세계대전 전후의 트리에스테 : 민족 갈등의 장에서 이탈리아적 도시로

Trieste, which had boasted cosmopolitan features until the end of the 19th century, lost its former diversity and changed into an entirely Italian city after going through two world wars. So far, the emergence of the fascism, and the following coercive nationalization have been pointed out as decisive occasions that took away the hybridity of Trieste. This study specifically examined the process of Italianization in two dimensions: the assimilation policy for minorities and nationalization to eliminate local characteristics and culture. To this end, while paying attention to the nationalist driving force and centralization attempts, we tried to observe the reactions of the various forces that cope with them. As a clue to the first theme, by analyzing the demographic change and denationalization policy immediately after World War I, we found that Italianization had progressed considerably before the rise of fascism. Regarding the second theme, we were able to see how the demands for totalitarianism in Trieste were applied in encounter with the existing values, and to identify the extent and limits of actual change. 19세기 말까지 세계시민적 면모를 자랑했던 이탈리아의 트리에스테는 양차대전을 거치면서 다양성을 상실하고 이탈리아 일색의 도시로 바뀌었다. 지금껏이 도시의 이탈리아화 과정은 19세기 말의 민족주의 운동에서 발원하여 파시즘에서 정점에 이른 것으로 이해되어왔다. 특히 트리에스테의 혼종적 특징들을앗아간 결정적 계기로는 파시스트 체제의 등장 및 20여 년간 이어진 강압적국민화가 지목되었다. 본 연구는 이탈리아화의 실제 과정을 재규명하고자 소수민족에 대한 동화정책과 지방적 특색과 문화를 일소하려 한 국민화라는 두 차원에서 고찰했다. 이를 위해 민족주의적 추동력과 중앙집권적 시도에 주목하면서, 그에 대처하는 여러 세력들의 다양한 대응도 살펴보고자 했다. 첫 번째 주제에 관한 실마리로 제1차 세계대전 직후의 인구 구성 변화와 탈민족화 정책을 분석함으로써, 파시즘 등장 이전에 이탈리아화가 상당히 진행되었음을 확인했다. 두 번째 주제와 관련해서는 트리에스테라는 도시 차원에서 전체주의 압력이 자치와 혼종성을 중시해온 기존 가치와 조우하여 어떻게 적용되는지를 파악하고 실제적 변화의 정도와 한계를 확인할 수 있었다.

Evaluation of Reliability of Large Hybrid Curvic Gear Using Thermography

Stabilizing the operation of dual fuel diesel engines is very important. The shipbuilding industry is rapidlygrowing, but gear components requiring reliability are still imported from other countries. The reasoning for thisis three-fold. Firstly, it is compulsory that all ships must use devices that meet the performance standardsspecified in the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and the convention of MARine POLlution (MAPOL) to preventpollution caused by ships. Secondly, most ships must comply with the ship classifications specified by shipowners. Therefore, it is specified that key engine gear components must be inspected and authorized for thequality and performance specified by the Ship Register Authority. Thirdly, it is essential that devices (enginegear) for human safety in ships comply with quality standards specified in the regulations and rules by thegovernment. The Ship Register Authority’s strict quality standards and approval requirements contribute to thereduction of motivation towards new investment and technology development by device component manufacturers. Therefore, this study aims to develop a method for using infrared thermography to examine gear reliability inorder to ensure gear component reliability and national competitiveness in the global market.
