In this paper, heat transfer characteristics of a loop type capillary heat pipe were experimentally investigated for the effect of several fill charge ratios of working fluid and heat loads. This type of heat pipe consists of a heating section, a cooling section and an adiabatic section. The heat pipe used has a 0.002m internal diameter, a 0.34m length in one turn and consists of 19 turns. Heating and cooling sections each have a length of 70mm. Experiments were performed to measure the temperature distributions and the pressure variation of the heat pipe. Heat transfer performance, effective thermal conductivity, boiling heat transfer and condensation heat transfer coefficients were calculated for various operating conditions of heat pipe and it was found that heat transfer characteristics of this type heat pipe were very excellent. As shown by this experimental study, this type of heat pipe operates by oscillatory flow caused by pressure and temperature oscillations.

釜山水産大學 實習船 釜山 403號의 主機關인 中速디젤機關을 利用하여 機關 冷却水溫度와 給氣溫度를 변화시키며 機關性能 및 燃燒性을 考察한 結果 다음과 같은 結論을 얻었다. 1. ??를 높임에 따라 ??가 上昇하며 ?? 10℃ 上昇時 ??는 約 7.6℃ 上昇하였으며, ??를 60℃로 하여 運轉하는 경우에도 공기과잉율의 低下에 의하여 燃燒性이 不良해지는 현상은 일어나지 않았다. 2. ?? 增加時 O₂濃度 감소, CO₂濃度 增加의 현상이 나타났으며 ?? 40℃일 때 ?? 25℃ 上昇時 공기과잉율은 約 0.41程度 低下하였으나 이러한 현상은 ??가 增加할수록 둔화되었다. 3. ??가 上昇함에 따라 同一한 공기과잉율에서 이산화탄소 생성량이 增加하였으며 이는 同一한 條件에서 冷却水溫度의 上昇에 따라 燃燒性이 向上됨을 알 수 있다. 4. 馬力當 燃料消費率이 가장 적은 것은 負荷 100% BHP의 경우이며 이때 正味燃料消費率은 173.76gr/BHPㆍh이다. This investigation tries to find the better operating condition that the fuel oil is saved for the medium speed diesel engine installed on training ship "Busan" 403˝. This study observes the performance and combustibility of the engine under the condition for various temperature of cooling water and scavenging air. The combustibility increases with the increase of the cooling water temperature. Though the temperature of scavenging air rises to 60℃, the combustion of the engine is good in condition.

Intramedullary neurilemmoma of the spinal cord is extremely rare. This is not surprising, since schwann cells, considered the histogenetic source of such a tumor, normally are not present within the spinal cord. A case of intramedullary neurilemmoma in 47-year-old man is reported and the hypotheses as to it's origin are discussed. In a discussion on the origin of the condition, it is concluded that this case might have an origin from the dorsal root entry zone.

Microscopic calcification within the basal ganglia was reported by Virchow and Bamberger in 1855. The description of symmetrical cerebral calcification, particularly of the basal ganglia and often of the dentate nuclei, associated with hypoparathyroidism as related by Eaton, Camp and Love(1939) was a significant development in the field of calcification. Calcification of the basal ganglia has been visualized by skull radiography and computed tomography(CT) scan, and in two-thirds of cases, it has been associated with metabolic and endocrine abnormalities. Computed tomography is more sensitive to detect the intracranial calcification than plain skull radiography. The purpose of our report was evaluate the significance of basal ganglia calcification as visualized by CT, and dicussed on pathogensis of calcification, clinical significance and management under the hypocalemia.
Narrow Spinal Canal에 대한 임상적 관찰

Authors analysed 25 cases of the narrow spinal canal in cervical and lumbar region, who admitted to the Catholic Medical Center, Seoul from Jan. 1970 to August 1976. Correlation between neurologic feature and radiologic finding was attempted and compared the measurements of narrow cervical and lumbar spinal canal with that of the healthy Korean. The mean anteriorposterior diameter of the cervical canal in healthy Korean was 16.2㎜. at C4, 16.4㎜. at C5, 16.6㎜. at C6, and 16.4㎜. at C7. The ratio of canal to vertebral "body in the plain lumbar spine was 1:3.9 at L3, 1 : 3.8 at L4 and 1 : 3.8 at L5. The measurements of 25 cases of narrow spinal canal were significantly reduced comparing with the healthy one. The clinical symptoms were closely related to the severity of the narrow spinal canal while there was intermittent or insidious course of symptom in the group of mild narrow spinal canal. Symptom of root compression or neurogenic claudication is frequent manifestation in the severe narrow spinal canal, and the symptom is correlated to the severity of the narrowing. Urinary disturbance and pyramidal tract sign were evident in the cervical narrow canal. The characteristic myelographic feature was multiple constrictive defect at the level of the narrow canal. Common findings in laminectomy were the thickened laminae and hypertrophied ligamentum flavum in the narrow canal. Herniated disc was not found but in one case in the cervical narrow canal at surgery. The recovery of the symptom was better in the group of the narrow canal who had mild degree of narrowing or who had the symptom in short duration rather than prolonged course.

Aneurysms of the great vein of Galen are rare and the authors report a case of primary type aneurysm of the great vein of Galen. Clinicaly aneurysm of great vein of Galen give rise to different sympoms and signs at different age. New born infants have intractable heart failure, infancy have hydrocephalus, and adolescents have headache and syncope. The diagnosis rests upon angiography, especially four-vessel angiography is mandatary to delineate all of the feeding arteries. The posterior cerebral arteries supply most of the blood to the aneurysm. The only effective treatment is ligation of the feeding vessels at the point of entry into the vein of Galen.
