This study, as a basic study for establishing a influence forecasting/estimating model when drain the deep sea water to the ocean after using it, carried out studies as follows ; 1) estimating the amount of river discharge and pollutant loads inflowing into the developing region of deep sea water in East Sea, Korea, 2) a field observation of tidal current, vertical distribution of water temperature and salinity to analysis current structures. The amount of river discharge flowing into this study area was estimated about 400.4×10³ ㎥/ day of daily mean in 2002 year. Annual mean pollutant load of COD, TN, TP and SS were estimated 606.9 ㎏/day, 350.9 ㎏/day, 3.4 ㎏/day and 758.3 ㎏/day, respectively. Field observation of tidal current results was controled by residual current. We could find a stratification within approximately the depth of 30-40 m in field observation area, and the differences of sigma-t between the surface layer and bottom layer were about 3.2 and 4.2, respectively. When sigma-t was 27.2, the depth were about 130 m and 240 m in Spring and Neap tide, respectively. And we could find that SS is diffused from the shore to the open sea, from surface to bottom layer.

The hot press forming process, which is the press hardening of steel parts using cold dies, can utilize both ease of shaping and high strength due to the hardening effect of rapid quenching during the pressing. In this study, a thermo-elastoplastic analysis of the hot press forming process using the finite element method was performed in order to investigate the deformation behavior and temperature history during the process and the mechanical properties of the pressed parts.

Recently, ultra high strength products can be manufactured by the hot press forming process of Boron steel in automotive and electronics industries. In order to get high strength, the hot press forming should be accompanied by quenching process inducing phase transformation. In the study, the heat conductive die and the cooling channel were designed by the numerical simulation and the effect of there different parameters were determined to improve cooling characteristics.

In order to get high strength, the hot press forming should be accompanied by quenching process inducing phase transformation. There are several types of the hot press forming processes according to the quenching method, water quenching and die quenching, etc. In the study, the process was numerically and physically simulated to compare the two types of quenching processes, and then the strength, hardness and dimensions of the products were compared with try-outs.
