It is well known that the thermal load in PSC box-girder bridge is the principal cause of detrimental crack. The longitudinal stress caused by the lateral stress from the temperature gradient in slab of PSC box-girder bridge has a considerable influence on the durability and economy of bridge structure. The dependency of geographic condition including meteorology, location, solar radiation, geometry, orientation of bridge is important factor in the determination of thermal load, but a few research group in Korea has studied the thermal load in bridge in connection with regional condition. As the basic study for the rational consideration of thermal load and the derivation of design guide, the inverse thermal analysis program for PSC box-girder bridges using field measurement data is developed. In this study, thermal analyses are performed using field monitoring data .for the sample PSC box-girder bridge. It is proposed that the link between monitoring program and the inverse analysis program is available. It is expected as a result of this study that the thermal load design guide appropriate to Korea's geographic condition can be derived dependent on the long term analysis data considering various regional variation.

The serviceability of concrete pavement is deteriorated by traffic load and environmental condition like temperature etc. Temperature distributions in the concrete pavement are affected by exterior heat source; e.g. solar radiation, convection due to wind. The temperature of pavement surface is higher than that of inner section in daylight, the exact reverse is seen during nighttime. The warping and curling of concrete pavement, the cause of local failure, is produce by the reversal thermal gradient in concrete pavement. The understanding of thermal action of concrete pavement is basic step in the estimating design life and serviceability, load-resistance relationship. Therefore, the thermal analysis program for the predicting temperature distribution and thermal gradient in the concrete pavement is developed in this study.
