The Galloway-Mowat syndrome, a rare inherited disorder, is characterized by congenital microcephaly with various neurological abnormalities and early onset of nephrotic syndrome with unresponsiveness to treatment, progressive deterioration in renal function and death in early lifetime. In this report, we describe a girl with microcephaly, seizures. and psychomotor retardation who developed nephrotic syndrome at 17 months of age. 다양한 신경학적 이상을 동반한 소두증과 조기발현 신증군을 보이는 Galloway-Mowat 증후군은 치료반응이 불량하며 신기능의 저하가 진행되 조기에 사망하는 드문 유전성 질환이다. 임상적, 조직학적 다양성을 보이는 소두증과 신증후군을 동반한 일련의 질환군에 대해 아직 그 견해가 정립되지 않았고 향후 지속적인 연구가 이어질 것으로 생각되며 유전성 및 예후 등을 고려할 때 주목해야 할 필요가 있다고 생각되어 저자들이 경험한 소두증과 신경학적 이상을 동반한 조기발현 신증후군 1례를 보고하는 바이다.

Waterborne polyurethane dispersion (PUD) was synthesized by capping the NCO groups of polyurethane prepolymers, prepared from isophorone diisocyanate, polycarbonate diol and dimethylol propionic acid, with aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APS), Subsequently, silylated acrylic polyurethane dispersion was synthesized by reacting the PUD with the mixture of acrylate monomers, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and methyl methacrylate, The average particle size of silylated acrylic polyurethane dispersion, measured by the dynamic light scattering method, was increased from 39.0 nm to 399.8 nm by increasing the addition amounts of APS. Also, the pencil hardness of coating films of silylated acrylic polyurethane dispersion was enhanced from B grade to F grade with increasing APS content.

Nutcracker증후군은 좌측 신정맥이 대동맥과 상장간막 동맥에 압박되어 발생하는 드문 질환으로 혈뇨, 단백뇨, 기립성 단백뇨의 원인이 된다. 초음파와 도플러 검사로 진단이 가능하다. 저자들은 기립성 단백뇨와 특발성 만성피로를 보인 보기드문 심한 Nutcracker 증후군 환아를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. The nutcracker syndrome is the congestion of left renal vein due to the compression of left renal vein by the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery and has been known as tile cause of hematuria with or without left renal flank pain, mild to moderate proteinuria and orthostatic proteinuria. We present here one case of 13.5 year of girl has severe typical nutcracker syndrome with orthostatic protinuria and idiopathic chronic fatigue. (J. Korean Soc Pediatr Nephrol 5 . 64- 8, 2001)

Waterborne polyurethane dispersions (PUD) were synthesized from isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), polycarbonate diol (PCD) and dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) as starting materials. Subsequently, waterborne polyurethane- acrylic hybrid solutions were prepared by reacting the PUD with different amounts of the mixture of acrylate monomers, HEMA (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) and MMA (methyl methacrylate). As a result, the average particle size of waterborne polyurethane-acrylic hybrid solutions was increased with increasing the addition amounts of acrylate monomers. Also, the prepared coating films from waterborne polyurethane-acrylic hybrid solutions showed better abrasion resistance and chemical resistance than those of pure PUD.

Isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), polycarbonate diol (PCD), dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA)를 출발물질로 하여 수 분산 폴리우레탄(waterborne polyurethane dispersion, PUD)을 합성하였다. 이 PUD에 아크릴 단량체인 HEMA (2- hydroxyethyl methacrylate):MMA (methyl methacrylate), HEMA:BA (butylacrylate), HEMA:BMA (butyl methacrylate), HEMA:HEA (2-hydroxyethyl acrylate), HEMA:PETA (pentaerytritol triacrylate) 혼합물을 첨가하여 수분산 폴리우레탄 -아크릴 혼성 용액을 제조하였다. 또한 아크릴 단량체의 종류가 수분산 폴리우레탄-아크릴 혼성 용액의 내약품성과 내 마모성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 실험 결과 내약품성은 HEMA와 MMA를 중합한 것이 가장 우수했으며, 내마모 성은 HEMA와 PETA를 중합한 것이 가장 우수한 결과를 나타내었다. 가와사끼병은 주로 소아연령에서 발생하는 급성 열성 혈관염으로 관상동맥의 확장이 치명적 합병증으로 나타날 수 있다. 저자들은 3개월된 영아에서 반복적인 정맥용 면역글로불린, 스테로이드, 경구용 methotrexate의 치료에도 불구하고 진행되는 관상동맥 병변으로 다발성 거대 관상류, 협착 및 관상동맥 내 혈전을 보이며 심전도상 심근 허혈 소견과 함께 심장 자기공명영상에서 좌심실의 확장과 전벽 및 중격의 심한 운동저하를 나타낸 증례를 보고한다. 환아는 보존적 요법에 반응하지 않는 관상동맥병변으로 내원 88일째 수술적으로 우측 거대관상동맥류를 절개하고 Gore-tex tube를 삽입하여 각각의 측부순환과 연결하였으며, 좌측 관상동맥 협착부위는 세로로 절개한 후 심장막 반(pericardial patch)을 삽입, 확장하였으나, 수술 후 심폐부전으로 사망하였다. Kawasaki disease is an acute systemic vasculitis of unknown origin. Giant coronary aneurysm is one of the most serious complications, although peripheral artery vasculitis can produce life-threatening events. Myocardial ischemia and infarction can be caused by coronary artery stenosis, aneurysm, and stagnation of blood flow in coronary arteries which triggers thromboembolism. Atypical presentation in young infants often interferes with prompt diagnosis and timely treatment, resulting in poor outcomes. We describe a 3-month-old infant with multiple giant coronary aneurysms with flow stagnation, stenosis and large mural thrombus due to Kawasaki disease. He presented with a prolonged course of severe coronary involvement in spite of all measures to reduce coronary complications. Finally, surgical intervention was tried because of the worsening coronary artery abnormalities. The patient died of acute cardiorespiratory failure shortly after weaning from cardiopulmonary bypass.

Acrylic terminated polyurethane prepolymers were synthesized by capping the NCO groups of polyurethane prepolymers, prepared from isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), polycarbonate diol (PCD) and dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA), with pentaerythritol triacrylate (PETA). Subsequently, silylated acrylic terminated prepolymers were prepared by capping the NCO groups of acrylic terminated polyurethane prepolymers with different types of silane coupling agents, glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) or aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APS). The average particle size of pure waterborne polyurethane solution, measured by the dynamic light scattering method, was increased from 14.3 nm to 208.6 nm by adding PETA and APS. Also, the coating film of silylated acrylic terminated waterborne polyurethane showed better abrasion resistance and pencil hardness than that of pure waterborne polyurethane.

Subsequently, acrylic terminated polyurethanes were prepared by capping the NCO groups of polyurethane prepolymers with different types of acrylate monomers, such as 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA) and pentaerythritol triacrylate(PETA). The average particle sizes of the acrylic terminated polyurethane solutions were increased by capping acrylate monomers. Also, the prepared coating films showed better abrasion resistance and pencil hardness than those of pure waterborne polyurethanes. The coating film with PETA exhibited the best abrasion resistance and pencil hardness of coating films prepared with three acrylate monomers.

NCO terminated polyurethane prepolymers were synthesized from isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI), poly (tetramethylene glycol)(PTMG) and dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA). Subsequently, waterborne polyurethanes were prepared by capping the NCO groups of polyurethane prepolymers with different types of silane coupling agents, such as methyltsimethoxysilane(MTMS), glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane(GPTMS), methaeryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane(MPTMS) and aminopropyl triethoxysilane(APS). The avenge particle size of the waterborne polyurethane solutions was increased by adding silane coupling agents. Also, the coating films prepared from GPTMS, MPTMS and APS, exhibited better pencil hardness than those from pure waterbome polyurethane. On the other hand, the coating films from MTMS did not show an improved pencil hardness than those from pure waterbome polyurethane.
