Teaching the concept of genetic dominance is challenging in several aspects. The metaphor of dominance not only promotes several misconceptions but also misleads cultural perspectives of inheritance. The concept of genetic dominance itself has provoked much debate. It is clear now that a certain phenotype is expressed by complex interactions between the two alleles as well as interactions among many genes in the cell. In addition, environmental factors influence the phenotype. It is therefore especially important for students to understand the complex and dynamic relationships between genotypes and phenotypes. The science textbooks currently being used in middle schools, however, introduce the concept of dominance as the law of dominance . No other biology or genetics textbooks used at the college level describe the law of dominance as one of Mendel s laws. The concept of dominance should rather be understood as an operational definition than be given as a natural law. Before revising textbooks for the 8th Curriculum, we need to redefine what to teach and how to deliver it for better understanding of inheritance.

이 연구는 여성노인 요가참여자의 자신감이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 여성노인 요가 참여자에게 건강하고 행복한 삶의 방향을 제시해 줄 수 있는 근거 자료를 제시 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울과 경기도에 위치한 요가센터에서 요가 프로그램에 참여하고 있는 여성노인 참여자 316명을 대상으로 질문지를 이용하여 여성노인의 요가 참여가 자신감과 생활만족도에 미치는 영향에 대한 검사를 실시하였다. 자료처리 방법으로는 각 변인에 대한 신뢰도 및 타당도를 검증하기 위하여 신뢰도 분석과 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였고, 제시된 가설을 검증하기 위하여 상관관계분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 이상의 연구절차에 따라 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 요가에 참여하는 여성노인들의 자신감이 책임감에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보기 위하여 검증한 결과 능력입증요인이 책임감에 많은 영향을 미친다고 나타났다. 또한 코치지도력요인이 성취도에 많은 영향을 미친다고 나타났고, 사회적지지요인 역시 성취도에 많은 영향을 미친다고 나타났으며, 능력입증요인이 긍정성에 많은 영향을 미친다고 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to positively provide evidentiary materials with analyzing the confidence and life satisfaction of yoga participant. To accomplishing above purpose, tests were done to find an effect on confidence and life satisfaction of elderly women participating yoga with a questionnaire subjecting 316 of elderly woman participants who are participating yoga program in yoga center locating at Seoul and Kyoung-gi do. Reliability Analysis and Investigative Factorial Analysis were carried out to verify reliability and validity for each variable, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were carried out to search the correlation on life satisfaction by confidence. Results are as following: In first, there was statistically significant on the ability confirmation and physical/mental preparation according to confidence and life satisfaction depending on whether or not the partner of the elderly women participating yoga is survival and there was also statistically significant in physical/mental preparation between a group, which its participants are being divorced or separated, and a group that the partners of its participants were passed away. There also was statistically significant in the sense of responsibility according to how many children the elderly women participating yoga have and the result of the analysis of perceived gap on confidence and life satisfaction.

고부가가치를 지닌 전통 민속주를 개발하기 위하여 먼저 시중에서 구입한 전통주 발효제의 미생물 분포를 조사한 결과, 세균이 가장 많았고($1.3\times10^7$ CFU/g-Koji), 효모와 곰팡이는 비슷하게 분포하였다. 또한 발효제의 amylase 활성은 120.0 Unit/g 이었고, protease 활성은 36.6 Unit/g 이었다. 전통주 발효제로부터 최종 6균주의 효모들이 분리되었고 Hansenula alni (No 1), Hansenula canadensis (No 2), Hansenula silvicola (No.3), Hansenula califrnica (No 4), Hansenula beijerinckii (No 9), Hansenula saturnus var. sturnus (No11) 등으로 동정되었으며 Saccharomyces 속균은 분리되지 않았다. 전통주 발효제로부터 14균주의 곰팡이를 순수분리하여 동정한 결과 1-41번 균주들은 Rhizopus sp.으로 추정되었고, 나머지 46번, 53번과 64번 균주들은 모두 Aspergillus sp.로 추정되었다. 이 균주들 가운데 Rhizopus sp. 균들은 a-amylase 활성이 없었고 오직 Aspergillus sp. (46번 균주)만이 a-amylase 활성이 5 Unit 이었으며 Rhizopus sp.인 8번 균주의 protease 활성이 45.2 Unit으로 가장 높았다. Microflora and enzyme activity of traditional wine-koji were investigated. Bacteria was contained the greatest of $1.3\times10^7$ CFU/g-Koji, and its amylase and protease activities were 120.0 u/g and 36.6 u/g, respectively. 6 Kinds of yeast were isolated from the koji and identified as Hansenula alni (No 1), Hansenula canadensis (No 2), Hansenula silvicola (No.3), Hansenula califrnica (No 4), Hansenula beijerinckii (No 9) and Hansenula saturnus var. sturnus (No11). Furthermore, 14 kinds of mold were also isolated from the koji and identified as Rhizopus sp(No 1-41, 11 species) and Aspergillus sp.(No. 46, 53, 64, 3 species). Only Aspergillus sp. No 46 was showed a-amylase activity of 5.5 Unit and protease activity of Rhizopus sp. No 8 was the highest of 45.0 Unit.

제 7차 교육과정의 과학교과서에 수록된 멘델유전학 관련 내용 분석

Genetics is one of the central themes in biology education. According to the 7th Curriculum, the basic concepts of genetics are first introduced into the science class at the 9th grade. The part titled as Heredity and Evolution in the science curriculum is composed of three major chapters including Mendelian Genetics, Human Genetics, and Evolution. Biotechnology based upon the application of modern genetics is also covered in the science textbooks at various levels. In this study I examined whether the textbook materials described Mendelian Genetics well enough to have the student understand the important ideas of both Mendelian and modern genetics. The parts of Heredity and Evolution in nine science textbooks currently available were subjected to investigation. Although all the textbooks included the Mendelian genetics as one of the major chapters, the content was limited to a simple introduction of Mendel s experimental results. Futhermore, most of the textbooks inclined to emphasize excessively on the relation between dominant and recessive alleles by naming the relationship as the Rule of Dominance and by describing a partial dominance as an exceptional case of the rule. These parts covered more than half of the content in the chapter of Mendelian Genetics. For students to better understand the basic genetic concepts, we recommend to emphasize the Mendel s critical experiments on the segregation of genes.

In this study, a fundamental study of biomass gasification was conducted in a tube furnace. Syngas compositions and gas yield are monitored as a function of time with different temperature and steam to biomass ratio. Syngas is mainly composed of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane. The gasification process can be separated in devolatization and char gasification, and syngas production is highly influenced by the gasification temperature and steam amount. Adding steam enhances the char gasification and hydrogen yield is significantly affected by the steam and gasification temperature.
