Today power system technology is being converged with communication system technology or information technology (IT). This conversion action affects on two parts vigorously so that IT has become very essential in power industry. But terminologies of two parts are confused and it is necessary that these are standardized to develop the industry mush more because the standardization is the first step of preparation to FTA environments.

There are some rebate programs for energy efficient appliances, which are lighting s, vending machines, ASDs, motors, transformers, pumps, to reduce national energy consumption in Korea. Among these appliances, motors are of the essential target in the programs because these take about 64% of electrical energy consumption nationally. In this paper reasonable rebate levels are proposed using an advanced diffusion model and avoided cost analyses.

In this paper, a modified diffusion model integrated with the effects of rebate programs is developed. The greater part of motors is included to various systems such as pump systems, fan systems, ventilation systems, motor itself, and so on. Hence, the existing rebate program is not suitable for these systems and a generalized rebate model for these systems is necessary. In the pre-study, a new diffusion model for motor rebate program was proposed and the adequacy of this model was evaluated in the case of Korea. This paper shows that the motor rebate model could be applied to the case of pumps.
새로운 매트릭스분류체제에 의한 전력 IT용어 제정에 관한 연구

Based on classification systems of power and IT standard dictionaries, scientific and technological standard, SPARK, power IT fields of IEC and organization units of corporations, we propose a new classification system for the standardization of power IT terminologies. The classification system consists of a hierarchical structure with general classification, application fields and specific technologies while keeping the conventional matrix-type classification system. Interpretation work of the power IT terminologies confirms that the proposed classification system is efficient.
