Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of game-combined laughter program on ego-resilience, happiness, subjective well-being and psychological well-being among children and teenagers in community child center. Methods : This study was conducted using a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 36 children and teenagers. 16 children and teenagers is in the experimental group using game-combined laughter program during 4 weeks and 20 children and teenagers is in the control group. This program starts with a dance that can be easily followed by considering the characteristics of children and teenagers who are active and desire to achieve, then merges the games and laughter techniques with appropriate compensation depending on the results of the game to satisfy the sense of accomplishment and to repeatedly use the expression of mind through laughter. Results : The study found that ego-resilience(t=1.54, p<.001), subjective well-being(t=1.08, p=.038), and psychological well-being(t=1.22, p=.001) were statistically significant, but happiness was not statistically significant. Conclusion : Therefore, it would be necessary to use the games for children and teenagers at community child center as an arbitration that can enhance ego-resilience and well-being by continuously conducting a game-combined laughter program.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the satisfaction with clinical practice and clinical performance ability by types of self-directed learning ability of nursing students. Methods: This was a triangular study that was conducted to understand clinical performance ability. The subjects were 260 junior and senior students from a university in P city. The data were collected from April 22 to December 30, 2015. Data were collected by Q-card, Q-block an assessment tool, a structured self-reporting survey and a questionnaire. Results: We classified the self-directed learning abilities into four types: Type 1: a self-reflective person; Type 2: a person who prepares for the future; Type 3: a person with a sense of responsibility and obligation; and Type 4: an enthusiastic learner. We found that clinical performance ability was higher for Type 4 than Type 3. We found that clinical performance satisfaction with clinical practice was also higher for the Type 4 individual than a Type 3 person. Conclusion: To improve students’ clinical performance ability, we need plans and support to lead students toward becoming an ‘enthusiastic learner’ type of person with self-directed learning ability. It is necessary to increase students’ satisfaction with clinical practice.

This study measures the subjectivity of powerlessness in elderly. The purpose of this study is as follows; 1) to find out typologies based on opinions and attitude toward powerlessness in elderly. 2) to describe the characteristics of each type. As a research method, Q-statements were collected through indepth interviews and review of the current literature. For this study 31 Q-statements were selected. 27 elderly were subjects for the research. The elderly sorted 31 Q-statements using the principle of forced normal distribution, which has nine scales to measure individual opinions. The data were analyzed by the PC QUANL program with principal component analysis. According to the results of this study, there were three cetegories of opinion concerning powerlessness in elderly. The first type is the realistic problem oriented approach; the second type is the self responsibility or pursuit of life meaning approach: the third type is the group approach for problem solving. The result of this study, we need to develop and revise a more realistic way of powerlessness in elderly. In conclusion, this study will provide insights and information to the educational program for powerlessness in elderly.
