Powder injection molding technique is an appropriate manufacturing process for 3-dimensional complex products. Nano powder was introduced in the process for microfabrication, but it increases the process difficulty and process cost. Nano/micro bimodal powder can be a solution to minimize the drawback of nano powder. Some research groups dealt with nano/micro bimodal powder injection molding process. However, most of their works only focused on the properties of sintered samples despite the importance of the injection molding step. Thus, in this study, the rheological property of nano/micro bimodal feedstocks was investigated with capillary rheometer. Flow index and flow activation energy were calculated from the result with the Arrhenius and powder law model. Moldability index was also obtained for each feedstock, and 12 % nano bimodal feedstock was regarded as the most desirable feedstock for injection molding process.

The Finnish Maritime Administration issued new ice class regulations on 15 December 2008. As most of the classification societies have adopted the regulations into their own ice class rules, KR also adopted the regulations into the 2010 Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships and this Rules apply to ships for which contracts for construction are signed on or after 1 July 2010. In this presentation, propulsion machinery requirements of the new ice class regulations and their technical background will be introduced.

Proper shaft alignment is one of the most important actions during the design of the propulsion system. The stiffness of recently designed marine propulsion shafting has been increasing remarkably, whereas hull structures have become more likely to deform as a result of optimized design of the scantlings and the high tensile steel. hereupon, this paper dealing with introduction of newly developed shaft alignment programme by our society and review its reliability evaluation compare with other alignment programmes.
