C/V 흑연 주철의 흑연형상에 미치는 응고인자(control factor)들의 영향을 조사하기 위해 첨가제, holding time과 열처리의 유무등을 변화시켜 보았다. 이때 흑연형상의 척도로서 길이/폭의 비를 사용하였으며, 단면적의 감소는 구상흑연의 증가와 더불어 이 비율의 증가가 확인되었으나 현격한 변화라고 단정 지을 수는 없었다. Mg-Ti합금과 Rare earth silicides의 첨가에 따라 다른 미세조직이 관찰되었으나 이 또한 기지조직의 차이에 의한 것이었고 실제 흑연의 형상에는 영향이 없었다. 4, 5분의 유지 시간으로는 흑연형상의 변화를 감지할 수 없었으며, 탄소/실리콘의 변화도 기지조직 이외에는 변화를 일으키지 않았다. 소둔 열처리의 경우 Rare earth를 첨가한 13㎜ 직경의 경우만 C/V 흑연이 약간 두꺼워졌을 뿐 대체로 괄목할 만한 차이가 확인되지 못했다. N/A Aluminum alloy 2024 matrix composites reinforced with Al₂O₃particles, were prepared by rheo-compocasting, a process which consists of the incoporation distribution of reinforcement by stirring within a semi-solid alloy. The microstructures and characteristics of the interfaces have been studied using optical microscope and scanning electon microscope in 2024 aluminum alloy composites reinforced with Al₂O₃particles. The main results are as follows: (1) Al₂O₃particles were well distributed in composites by using rheo-compocasting. (2) As the addition of Al₂O₃particle increases, the average dendrite numbers and the hardness were increased. (3) Interaction between Al₂O₃particles and alloy 2024 resulted in the formation of Mg and Cu element rich region around the Al₂O₃particles.
구상흑연주철의 Mn 성분과 펄라이트-베이나이트변태처리의 변화가 미세조직에 미치는 영향

N/A The purpose of present investigation is to obtain ductile cast iron with ferrite-bainite matrix by pearlite-bainite transformation treatment. Ductile cast irons having three kinds of Mn ampunt had been manufactured. Mn increased pearlite volume fraction iin as-cast ductile cast iron. Ductile cast irons of different pearlite fraction were austenitized at 875℃ for 230-350 sec or 925℃ for 130-170 sec followed by austempering at 300℃ or 400℃ for the various periods of time from 5 to 30 min. When specimen was austenitixed for 130 sec at 925℃ and for 230 sec at 875℃, pearlite was transformed into austenite. Bainite around graphite was found at 925℃ for 170 sec. Bainite in grain boundary of ferrite was happened at 875℃ for 350 sec. During the austempering process, acicular bainite was precipitated at 300℃ and lath bainite was precipitated at 400℃. Increment in manganese content restrained bainitic transformation. Retained austenie was of little quantity.
오스템퍼링 조건과 Mn 의 양이 ADI 의 기계적 성질에 미치는 영향

N/A In this study, we investigated effect of austempering factors and Mn addition on mechanical properties of ADI with ferrite-bainite matrix by pearlite-bainite transformation treatment. Ductile cast iron specimens containing various of Mn were austenitized at 875℃ for 350 sec or 925℃ for 160 sec and then austempered at 300℃ or 400℃ for the various periods(5 to 30 min). Manganese increased pearlite volume fraction in as cast ductile cast iron. The obtained results are as follows ; 1) In austenitizing, hardness of sepecimens austenitized at 875℃ for 350 sec was higher than that of 925℃ for 160 sec. 2) In effect of austempering temperature, tensile strength and handness of specimens austempered at 300℃ was higher than that of 400℃. However, elongation had reverse tendency. 3) Increasing austempering time decreased hardness due to the increment of bainite and retained austenite fractions. However, toughness are increased.
Al-Si 합금의 일방향 응고시 응고거동에 미치는 Sr 의 영향

N/A The effects of Sr on the solidification behaviors of eutectic and hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys under the condition of unidirectional solidification were investigated. The liquid-solid interfaces of the alloys without Sr addition were irregular and the degree of irregularity increased with increased solidification rate. The eutectic silicon of the alloy with Sr addition was not modified at the slow solidification rate of 2㎜/h. The modification effect of Sr was enhanced with increased solidification rate. Meanwhile the unmodified eutectic silicon grew first into liquid and was surrounded by α-aluminum solid solution, the modified one grew in the deviated directions from solidification direction. The Sr was segregated in the eutectic silicon. The undercooling of eutectic Si of hypoeutectic alloy with Sr addition was much greater than that without Sr addition.
과공정 Al-Si 합금의 초정 Si 미세화에 미치는 냉각속도와 P 첨가량의 영향

N/A It is well known that the coarse primary Si in hypereutectic Al-Si alloys deteriorate castability, machinability, and mechanical properties. So, many treatment has been tried to refine the primary Si increasing cooling rate and adding refinement agent. Therefore, the purpose of our work was the observation of the effect on the refinement of primary Si and the analysis of the trend to apply to the casting process by changing the amount of P addition and the cooling rate while fixing the temperature at 750℃ of P addition and the type of AlCuP. In the condition of amount of P addition was fixed, primary Si was finer as cooling rate increased but in case of cooling rate was fixed, the effect of refinement was resisted as incersed the amount of P addition. At a relatively slow cooling rate of 22℃/sec, refinement was governed by the amount of P addition rather than cooling rate. At elevated cooling rate of 51℃/sec and 99℃/sec, the undercooling due to faster cooling rate promoted nucleation of primary Si rather than P addition more significantly.
