Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is an uncommon disease charaterized by abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, eosinophilia in peripheral blood and eosinophilic infiltration of gut. We experienced a case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis, which developed after ingestion of medicinal plant, Acanthopanax sessili florum, reported with review of literature.

N/A The peptic diseases in infants and children are no longer rare conditions in these days. Upper G-I barium study is usual method of choice to make diagnosis of peptic disorders in children in Korea. We report the endoscopic experiences on pediatric age group, 90 cases, in the endoscopic unit during five years period until september l984 1) Olympus GIF type Q, type P-10 and Fujinon UGI type FP were available endoscopes. 2) 0.3% procaine viscous was used for pharyngeal anesthesia over 5 years of age without diazepam injection or general anesthesia. No premedication was used for under 5 years of age. 3) Chief complaints or signs of patients were abdominal pain, hematemesis and/or melena and vomiting in order. 4) Of ninty patients, 40 children were found to be normal endoscopic finding, 15 were gastritis, 15 duodenal ulcer, 6 gastric ulcer, 4 esophageal varices, 3 duodenitis and 2 achalasia respectively. 5) Among 22 upper G- I bleeders, 37% were due to peptic ulcer origin. Four of 5 unknown original bleeders were identified to be nasal origin. 6) There were no significant complications or sequelae during and after endoscopic procedures. 7) Pediatric endoscopy by experienced personels was thought to be safe, effective and easy matter.
컴퓨터활용교육 : 초등학생의 컴퓨터 사용 습관이 수면 및 식생활 습관에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 학생들의 컴퓨터 사용습관과 이에 따른 수면패턴 및 식생활 습관의 실태를 분석하여 문제점을 분석하고 개선 방향을 제시하는데 있다. 먼저 컴퓨터 사용습관과 이에 따른 수면패턴 및 식생활 습관의 실태를 분석하여 문제점을 분석하기 위하여 초등학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문 대상은 초등학생 3~6학년의 학생들로 농촌 지역과 도시 지역으로 구분하였다. 설문의 주요 내용은 컴퓨터 사용의 목적, 컴퓨터 사용 시간, 평소 수면 시간, 수면의 질, 수면 부족의 원인 등과 컴퓨터 사용으로 인한 식사 습관의 변화 등으로 구성하였다. 설문 조사 결과 일부 초등학생의 경우 컴퓨터의 사용 기간과 시간이 식습관과 수면 패턴에 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 학생들의 올바른 식습관과 수면을 위해서는 관련 교과에서의 컴퓨터 사용에 따른 기초 생활지도가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this paper are to analyze about sleeping and eating habits of children and to propose short and long-term plans for problems. To analyze problems of sleeping and eating habits of children, we did survey for children. The oriented children of survey are students who are the third grade or sixth grade of elementary school. They are distinguished between rual and urpan area. The main of survey are the purpose of using computer, computer using time, daily sleeping time, the quality of sleeping, the cause of insufficient sleep and change of eating habits by using computer. According to result of survey, computer using time affect sleeping and eating habits in case of a part of children. Therefore, a teaching plan for computer using habits is needed in elementary school.

Objective : Standard of measurement in Korean Medicine has been changed in dynasty and location. Thus, cun (寸) and chi (尺) as unit of measurement for meridians and acupoints could be recognized as the length of equally divided portions of a certain long bone or the distance between two anatomical landmarks and as an symbolical meaning to date. The goal of this study is to propose a new standard measurement in the metric system for the relative measurement of cun and chi as unit of measurement for meridians and acupoints in normal male legs. Methods : This study was conducted by gauging each parts of normal male legs in the metric system and comparing to the relative measurement of cun and chi as follows; to calculate 1 cun, the length of each parts was divided into the unit of cun referred to Measurement of the Bone in Neijing Lingshu (靈樞 骨度篇); it was compared the unit of cun referred to Measurement of the Bone in Neijing Lingshu with cun which was calculated by dividing subject's height into 75 cun, respectively. Result : There has no significant difference in length of 1 cun among each leg's areas based on a standard of subject's height. The unit of cun by the metric length in the legs was similar to the unit of cun referred to Measurement of the Bone in Neijing Lingshu based on each subject's height. Conclusion : It is suggested that an unit of cun as the measurement for meridians and acupoints in the male legs should be considered to the ranges from 2.4cm to 2.6cm.

Generating of direction parallel tool path is one of the fundamental geometric operations in CAD/Cam (Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing) systems and has been used for various manufacturing processes such as material removal and deposition. This report describes a direction parallel tool path generation algorithm which can avoid singular cases and serve in simple and robust manner by making a very small movement of vertices and calculating intersections based on line-segment. The proposed algorithm is implemented in C++ language. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, three models are tested. The result showed shorter processing time than a conventional direction parallel tool path algorithm.

N/A Objective: Various GI symptoms of the patient with liver disease can be related to gastrointestinal functional disorders without mechanical or mucosal abnormalities. We studied to evaluate the presence of delayed gastric emptying of solids which may be one of the causes of gastrointestinal dysfunction in patients with liver cirrhosis. Method: A Dual-Head Gamma Camera coupled to a computer was used in 20 normal volunteers and 12 patients with liver cirrhosis and GI-II ascites after ingestion of the mixture nf 99mTc-labelled scrambled egg in order to determine gastric emptying time. Results: Gastric lag time was 17.2 minutes in normal volunteers and 19.8 munutes in patients with liver cirrhosis, half gastric emptying time was 74.6 minutes in normal volunteers and 82.1 minutes in patients with liver cirrhosis. Although the patients with liver cirrhosis represented slightly delayed gastric emptying, there was no significant difference. The remnant radioactive count after one hour was 36100 in normal volunteers and 50200 in patients with liver cirrhosis, the remnant radioactive count after two hours was 15700 in normal volunteers and 29800 in patients with liver cirrhosis. Although the patients with liver cirrhosis represented high radioactive counts, there is was significant difference. Conclusions: As there is no definitely delayed gastric emptying of solids in patients with liver cirrhosis and ascites, it is needed to study in large numbers of patients and to evaluate other causes of gastrointestinal functional distrubance.

Objectives : When we understand the characters of certain person or object, we try to follow each one`s or its past up. Korean Journal of Acupuncture is one of the most significant journal in acupuncture study fields in Korea. To understand the trends of study in acupuncture study fields, I made a subject with Korean Journal of Acupuncture. Methods : I made an evaluation and classification for all 713 articles` headline from vol. 17(2000 year) to vol.32(2015 year). Results : 1. Experimental Reseach : There were major portion articles for pharmaco-acupuncture study out of studies for acupuncture, moxibustion, chiropratics, devices and so on. 2. Bibliographical Research and Basic Theory Research : There were major portion articles for medians and acu-point study out of studies for article review and text book itself. Also, there were major portion articles for meridian and acupuncture study out of studies for Qigong, pulse, anatomy and so on. 3. Clinical Research : There were major portion articles for acupuncture study out of studies for moxibustion, chiropratics, devices, complex treatments and so on. 4. Others : There were major portion articles for diagnosis and measurement devices out of acupuncture, laser, pulsing device and so on. Also, there were surveys for recognition of patients and medical services and evaluations for measuring diagnosis utility and those effects. Conclusions : With thise results, I hope that several researchers could consider scope and subject when they submit articles for Korean Journal of Acupuncture.
『비급천금요방(備急千金要方)』 침구편(鍼灸篇)으로 구성한 經穴 네트워크에 공간적 위치 변수가 미치는 영향

Objectives : Recently, network science is very popular topic in various scientific fields and many studies have reported that it gives meaningful results on studying characteristics of a complex system. In this study, based on network theory, we made acupoints network using data of combined acupoints which appeared at 『Beijiqianjinyaofang』. We focused to find out the distinctive roles of remote and local combinations on the network. Furthermore, we aimed to identify the possibility of numerical and quantitative application to acupuncture researches. Methods : Based on examples of combined acupoints in 『Beijiqianjinyaofang』, the network consisted of 291 nodes and 2,431 links. The spatial distances between combined acupoints were calculated by the human dummy model. We removed the links step by step for the three cases - remote, local, and random cases, and observed the characteristic changes by calculating path lengths, similarity indices, and clustering coefficients. Also cluster analysis was carried out. Results : The network had a small number of remote links, and a large number of local links. These two links had the distinct characteristics. Whereas the local links formed a cluster of nearby nodes, remote links played a role to increase the correlation between the clusters. Conclusions : These results suggest that acupoints network increases the connectivity between the distal part and the trunk of human body, and enables various combinations of the acupoints. This finding conclusively showed that mechanism of combined acupoints could be interpreted meaningfully by applying network theory in acupuncture researches.
