There are some researches about adjustable brake pedal apparatus for automobiles to mitigate any inconvenience of conventional brake pedal apparatus. However, previous researches consider only the initial positions and the orientations of adjustable brake pedal apparatus. In this research, it is found that, at some initial positions of an adjustable brake pedal, it is not that convenient to push the pedal because it requires more foot effort. In this paper, the foot effort, which is defined as the contact force between the foot and the pedal, is analyzed and some design guide lines are proposed.
