Thermal energy richly exists and readily available use in various industries areas such as geothermal and solar plant. However, thermal energy is used as the main energy and remain as waste heat in various temperature ranges. In particular, low–grade heat, which is less than 130 ℃ of waste heat, cannot be used at 100% energy due to energy loss. Thermoelectric device has been studied in order to this heat usefully, but this device has a problem of low efficiency in low–grade heat. Recently, when the temperature of organic capacitor increases, a potential rise due to a thermal–galvanic effect is discovered and is theoretically more efficient than thermoelectric device. However, this effect has not been reported for aqueous electric double layer capacitor (EDLC). In this research, we made pouch type of aqueous EDLC using commercial activated carbon and measured performance of EDLC and thermal–potential change (TPC) using electrochemical analysis.

Recently, Energy harvesting have been used for the studies on how to use energy efficiently according to depletion of petroleum fuel. One of study is a Thermoelectric device that performs energy harvesting with thermal energy. However, the Thermoelectric device has low efficiency at the low-grade heat (< 100 ℃) despite to high material cost and system complexity. Another study is a Thermogalvanic Cell that performs energy harvesting with entropy change due to thermal energy at electrochemical cell such as the supercapacitor. In 2015, Hartel et al. they studied the generation of additional Potential called Thermal Potential Change (TPC) in commercial Electrical Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) and constructed Thermodynamic-Electrochemistry cycle. In this research, we measured Thermal Potential Change in commercial Pseudo capacitor and Lithium ion capacitor using electrochemical analysis device.

Recently, polymeric materials have been used for the studies on electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding in order to induce the absorption mechanism rather than reflection mechanism by metallic sheets. However, the low thermal conductivity of a polymer, which generally ranges in 0.1 to 0.4 W/mK, has been an unsolved problem for this application. Adding nanoparticles with high thermal conductivity leads to overcoming this drawback. The electrical conductivity of the nanocomposite also improves by adding nanoparticles along with the increase in the thermal conductivity. In this research, we measured the sheet resistance of a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) film and also the thermal conductivity of the film using a suspended microdevice.
정신분열병 환자에서의 흡연과 새로운 것을 추구하는 경향: 여성 정신분열병 환자에서 흡연군과 비흡연군과의 비교 연구

Objectives:Individuals with schizophrenia in particular have extremely high rates of smoking. In addition, cigarette smoking affects symptoms and courses of schizophrenia per se in several aspects. This study compared the biogenic temperament related cigarette smoking behavior between smoking- and nonsmokingschizophrenics. Methods:Twenty-two female smoking-schizophrenics (experimental group) and 22 female nonsmoking-schizophrenics (control group) were recruited into this study. All subjects completed the temperament dimension of Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI). Independent t-test was used to compare the temperament dimension scores of TCI between the two groups. Results:There was no significant difference in baseline demographic and clinical variables between two groups. Novelty Seeking scale score was significantly higher in the experimental group compared with that in the control group. Conclusion:The results of this study suggest that cigarette smoking in patients with schizophrenia is related to the Novelty Seeking tendency, which is thought to be common characteristics in developing substance abuse including alcohol and cocaine in patients with schizophrenia. Further study with age- and intelligence-matched control group would be necessary.
