        난용종계의 난질의 유전력 및 유전상관에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to improve the interior egg quality with a total of 6,093 eggs, laid at 351 Single Comb White Leghorns and 326 Rhode Island Reds, produced at National Livestock Breeding Station from March 1, 1979 through July 30, 1980. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The average albumen height of the eggs at first eggs, 300 and 500 days of age was 8.32, 7.51 and 6.74㎜ in the S.C.W. Leghorn and 8.04, 6.94 and 6.05㎜ in the R.L.Red, and the Haugh units at first egg, 300 and S00 days of age was 90.92, 79.74 and 76.25 in the S.C.W. Leghorn, and 88.54, 80.02 and 74.56 in the R.I. Red, also the egg shell thickness at first egg, 300 and 500 days of age was 0.383, (1.364 and 0.334㎜ in the S.C.W. Leghorn and 0.354, 0.332 and 0.327 in the R.I. Red. 2. The heritability estimates in the S.C.W. Leghorn and R.I. Red were 0.398∼0.847 and 0.306∼0.634 for albumen height, 0.162∼0.594 and 0.125∼0.485 for Haugh units, 0.185-0.339 and 0.176∼0.402 for egg shell thickness, respectively. 3. The genetic correlation coefficients between the interior egg qualities were as follows. In the S.C.W. Leghorn and R.I. Red, the coefficients between albumen height and Haugh units, 0.432∼0.845 arid 0.397∼0.974; between albumen height and egg shell thickness, 0.046∼0.226 and 0.068∼0.197; between Haugh units and egg shell thickness, 0.089∼0.364 and 0.165∼0.327 ; respectively.

        산란계 개량에 관한 연구 1 . 순계의 생산능력 비교시험

        This experiment was carried out to test performance of the domentic purebred fowl. The purpose of this experiment was to compare the productive performance of the purebred fowl to obtained basic materials for laying performance improvement by means of cross breeding. In this study, 1, 200 chickens was used-that is 6 purebred strains White Leghorns(720 chickens), 1 purebred strain Rhode Island Reds (120 chickens), 1 purebred strain New Hampshires (120 chickens). The results obtained in this study are as follows; 1. The average Viability of brooding, rearing and laying period was best for Rhode Island Reds and E. Strain among White Leghorns. 2. The average body weight at 8 weeks, first egg production days, 500days of age in W. L. was 546.86g. 1431.37g, 1738.34g, respectively, but there was no significant difference among. purebred strains of W. L. 3. The average Sexual maturity of 50% egg production was 170.58 days in W. L., but R. I. R. and S. N. H. were 189.94 days, 182.42days, respectively. There was significant difference at 1 % level among Strains. 4. The average hen-housed egg production was 214.16 eggs in W. L., but R. I. R. and S. N. H. were 214.22 eggs, 196.74 eggs, respectively. There was significant difference at 1% level among Strains, but the highest hen-housed egg production (231.84 eggs) was E. Strain among strains. 5. The average egg weight was 54. 48g in W. L, but R. I. R. and .S. N. H. were 56.12g, 54.90g, respectively, The highest egg weight (57.69g) was Coronial Strain of W. L. among strains. There was significant difference at 1 % Level among strains. 6. The average feed requirement was 3.01 in W. L. but R. I. R. and S. N. H. were 3.23, 3.52, respectively the highest feed requirement (2.79) was Coronial Strain of W. L. among strains. There was significant difference at 1 % level among strains. 7. On the basis of the results of this study, the productive performance was best for C. D. E. strains among W. L. and R. I. R.

        육성기사료의 양적제한급여가 겸용종계의 생산성에 미치는 영향

        The effect of feed restriction during the rearing Period on the reproductive Performance was studied using 400 birds of dual purpose breeder pullet (Rhode Island Reds). During the rearing period (7∼21 week of age) feed was affered 80%, 70%, 60% of feed consumption of full feed group, All groups were full feed during laying period after 21 week of age. The results abtained are summarized as follows ; 1. Viability was not significantly affected by the feed restriction in either the rearing period or laying period of the experiment. 2. Body weight of 60% restricted group at 22 weeks of age was 75% of control group. At 72 weeks of age it was 95% of that of full feed group and not yet recovered completely. 3. Feed consumption of restricted groups from 22 to 72 weeks of age was some what more than that of control group, but total feed consumption per hen of all age was significantly different according to the feed restriction. 4. The degree of sexual maturity as measured by age at 50% egg Production was delayed from 9 to 27 days compared to control group according to the restricted intensity during rearing period. 5. Hen-day egg production (22-72 weeks of age) was range from 67.23 to 68.79% among treatment. There was not significant difference among treatment. 6. Average hen-housed egg production over 53g per bird to the end of the experiment was 154.2 eggs for control and 159.7 eggs for 80%, 157.4 eggs for 70%, 166.9 eggs for 60% restricted group. There was significant difference at 5 % level among treatment. 7. Average egg weight was significantly increased in restricted groups relative to control. The difference between restricted groups and control was highly significant average egg weight. 8. In the economic analysis, feed cost for 1 hatchable egg (over 53g) was in the highest with the control group and was decreased as the degree of feed restricted intensity. On the basis of the results of this study, it was suggested that in dual purpose breeder the feed restriction should be fed 60% of control group during the rearing period (7-21 weeks of age) and the body weight at 22 weeks of age should be kept at the level of 75 of the control in other to get better performance during the laying period.

        Holstein 종 유우의 유량 , 유지량 , 유지율 및 최고유량에 미치는 유전 및 환경적 효과와 상호작용에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to determine the main effects and interactions of year, season, parity, performance of milk production and lactation period on daily average milk yield, fat yield, fat percentage and peak yield with the 2,811 records of Holstein cows at National Animal Breeding Institute from 1970 to 1981. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows: 1. The daily milk yield, fat yield, fat percentage and peak yield were 14.85±.06㎏, 0.55±.002㎏, 3.59±.008% and 23.96±.11㎏, respectively. 2. The fat yield and fat percentage were no significant among season, but daily milk yield and peak yield were significant (p$lt;0.05) difference in the effects of season. 3. The daily milk yield, fat yield, fat percentage and peak yield were significant (p$lt;0.05) difference among parity, and the daily milk yield, fat yield were superior in the group of 5-9th parity than other parity groups. 4. The daily milk yield, fat yield and peak yield were significant (p$lt;0.05) difference, but daily fat percentage was no significant difference among the effects of performance of milk production. 5. The daily milk yield and fat yield were significant (p$lt;0.05) difference among lactation period, but fat percentage and peak yield were no significant difference. 6. The interaction effects of season by performance of milk production, and parity by performance of milk production were highly significant (p$lt;0.01) difference for the daily yield, fat yield and peak yield, and the interaction effects of parity by lactation period, and performance of milk production by lactation period were significant (p$lt;0.05) difference for the daily milk yield.

        돼지의 번식형질에 미치는 품종 및 환경의 효과

        This study was conducted to determine the main effects of the breed, furrowing year, season and parity on gestation length, litter size and litter weight at birth, 21 days and 56 days in swine. The least square means were estimated on the basis of the data obtained from 1,551 litters of Landrace, Large Yorkshire, Hampshire and Duroc breeds raised at National Animal Breeding Institute from 1981 to 1985. The results are summarized as follows; 1 The breed mean of the gestation length was 115.28 days, and effects of breed. furrowing year, season and parity were nonsignificant. 2. The effects of breed, furrowing year, season and parity for litter size at birth were highly significant at 1% level, and Large Yorkshire breed was superior for litter size at birth than the other breeds. 3. The effects of breed, furrowing year, season and parity for litter size on suckling, 21 days and 56 days were highly significant at 1% level, and Landrace breed was superior for pig weight at birth, 21 days and 56 days than the other breeds. 4. The effects of breed, furrowing year, season and parity for pig weight on birth, 21 days and 56 clays were highly significant at 1% level, and Landrace breed was superior for pig weight at birth, 21 days and 56 days than the other breed. 5. The effects of breed, furrowing year, season and parity for litter weight on birth, 21 days and 56 days were highly significant at 1% level, and the litter size at birth, 21 days and 56 days were superior in Landrace, in spring and in 3rd parity.

        유우의 임신기간 및 생시체중의 반복력과 이들 형질에 미치는 환경효과

        This study was conducted to investigate the effects of year, calving season and parity on the gestation length and birth weight and the repeatability of these traits with the records of 1,954 from 522 Holstein cows at National Animal Breeding Institute from 1970 to 1981. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The average gestation length was 279.374±0.859 days, and year and calving season had significant effect (P$lt;0.01) on gestation length. Gestation length of cows calved in summer was shortest and that of cows calved in winter was longest. 2. The average birth weight was 40.602±0.277㎏, and year, calving season and parity has significant effect (P$lt;0.01). The birth weight of calves from heifers was lightest and that of calves from cows with 4th parity was heaviest. 3. The repeatability estimates for gestation length and birth weight were 0.775±0.021 and 0.168±0.017, respectively.

        This study was conducted to estimate the heritabilities and genetic correlations among postweaning traits in swine. The heritabilities estimated were 0.270 for daily gain, 0.350 for feed requirement, 0.272 for backfat thickness, 0.887 for days to 90㎏ and 0.565 for selection index. The genetic correlations of daily gain with feed requirement, backfat thickness, days to 90㎏ and selection index were -0.552, 0.107, -0.903, 0.716, and feed requirement with backfat thickness, days to 90㎏ and selection index were -0.058, 0.099, -0.942, and backfat thickness with days to 90㎏ and selection index were -0.237, -0.025, respectively.

        Holstein 종 유우의 산유형질에 대한 유전력과 유전상관 추정에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to estimate the heritabilities, genetic and phenotypic correlations among milk production traits on the basis of 1954 records from 522 Hostein cows produced from 54 sires at National Animal Breeding Institute from 1970 to 1981. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows: 1. Total milk yield, 305 day milk yield, milk fat yield, fat percentage, peak yield, lactation period and days of peak yield were 4,699.49±1,467.41㎏, 4,940.58±1,221.98㎏, 179.24±17.68㎏, 3.57±0.34%, 24.44±5.77㎏, 301.44±71.97 days and 44.03±29.33 days, respectively. 2. The heritability estimates were 0.228±0.064 for total milk yield, 0.272±0.072 for correction milk yield, 0.236±0.066 for milk fat yield, 0.383±0.089 for fat percentage, 0.181±0.056 for peak yield, 0.104±0.042 for lactation period and 0.203±0.060 for days at peak yield. 3. The estimate of genetic correlation between 305 day milk yield and milk fat yield, fat percentage, peak yield, lactation period and days at peak yield were 0.902,-0.087,-0.030, 0.301, 0.013, respectively. And genetic correlation coefficients between milk fat yield and fat percentage, peak yield, lactation period and days at peak yield were 0.586,-0.222, 0.379 and 0.014, respectively.

        한국재래닭의 경제 형질에 대한 육종가 추정

        본 연구는 축산연구소에서 1995년부터 2001년까지 7세대에 걸쳐 능력 검정된 11,583수에 대한 자료를 이용하여 한국 재래 닭에 대한 경제형질의 육종가를 추정한 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 육종가의 추정치는 적갈색, 황갈색, 회갈색, 흑색 및 백색계통의 150일령 체중에서 각각 $-16.563\~-0.474,\;-14.714\~9.272,\;-25.186\~12.953,\;-15.549\~6.329$ 및 $-10.708\~20.284g$이었고, 270일령 체중에서 각각 $-18.836\~21.700,\;-23.025\~11.297,\;-28.368\~18.156,\;-18.264\~14.963$ 및 $-25.112\~10.132g$이었다. 산란능력의 육종가 추정치는 적갈색, 황갈색, 회갈색, 흑색 및 백색 계통의 시산일령에서 각각 $-1.236\~0.047,\;-1.509\~0.298, \;-1.362\~0.114,\;-1.435\~0.199$ 및 $-1.385\~0.718$ 일 이었고, 시산난중은 각각 $-0.105\~0.075,\;0.109\~0.042,\;-0.166\~0.084,\;-0.l19\~0.066$ 및 $-0.l12\~0.0279$ 이었고, 270일령 난중은 각각 $-0.120\~0.398,\; -0.205\~0.173,\;-0.256\~0.091,\;-0.051\~0.132$ 및 $-0.070\~0.101g$ 이었으며, 270일령 산란수는 각각 $0.298\~1.807,\;-0.049\~l.146,\;-0.396\~l.125,\;-1.205\~1.173$ 및 $-0.474\~2.641$개 이었다. This study was carried out to evaluate the breeding values for economic traits in Korean native chicken on the basis of 11,583 birds of record along 7 generations collected from 1995 to 2001 at National Livestock Research Institute, Korea. The results obtained are summarized as follows : The breeding value estimates of the body weights at 150 and 270 days in Dark Brown, Light Brown, Gray Brown, Black and White strains were $-16.563\~0.474\;and\;-18.836\~21.700,\;-14.714\~9.272\;and\;-23.025\~11.297,\; -25.186\~12.953\;and\;-28.368\~18.156,\;-15.549\~6.329\;and\;-18.264\~4.963,\;-10.708\~20.284\; and\;-25.112\~10.132g$, respectively. The breeding value estimates of the ages at first egg in Dark Brown, Light Brown, Gray Brown, Black and White strains were $-1.236\~0.047,\;-1.509\~0.298,\;-1.362\~0.114,\;-1.436\~0.199\;and\;-1.385\~0.718$, respectively. The breeding value estimates of the egg weight at first egg and at 270 days were $-0.105\~0.075\;and\;-0.120\~0.398,\;-0.109\~0.042\;and\;-0.205\~0.173,\;-0.166\~0.084\;and\;-0.256\~0.091,\;-0.119\~0.066\;and\;-0.051\~0.132,\;-0.112\~0.027\;and\;-0.070\~0.101g$, respectively. The breeding value estimates of the egg Production to 270 days in Dark Brown, Light Brown, Gray Brown, Black and White strains were $0.298\~l.807,\;-0.049\~l.146,\;-0.396\~l.125,\;-1.206\~l.173\;and\;-0.474\~2.641$, respectively.
