Purpose: In this paper we present a case study of developing fast curing adhesives for insulation material of LNG carriers using an extreme vertices design with four mixture components. Three material properties are considered . shear strength, viscosity, and tensile strength. In the optimization experiment, we used hardness instead of tensile strength due to shortage of specimens. Methods: We employ four-factor extreme vertices design with 19 runs and desirability function approach for simultaneously optimizing three responses. After selecting optimal condition of the mixture components, we do confirmation experiments to verify the reproducibility of the optimal condition under manufacturing circumstance. Results: Simultaneous optimal condition for the three responses, that is, shear strength, viscosity, and harness is obtained. At the optimal condition, confirmation experiments are executed in manufacturing circumstance. The variation for the shear strength is not satisfactory, which is due to the variation of the humidity. Conclusion: At the optimal condition three material properties are satisfactory. To reduce the variability for the shear strength, robust design is needed.

항공기를 개발하는데 있어 형상 결정과 요구도 입증은 주로 비행시험 결과에 의존한다. 비행시험은 많은 시간과 비용을 요구하므로 비행시험 계획을 체계적으로 수립하고 분석함으로써 비용절감과 일정단축에 기여할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국형 기동헬기에 적용된 진동 비행시험 사례를 적용하여 비행시험 계획을 체계적으로 수립하고 분석할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서는 주요 부위에서 측정한 진동수준 값을 가지고 종합적인 진동수준 만족도를 하나의 수치로 나타내기 위하여 호감도 함수를 채택하고 진동수준의 측정을 위한 비행시험을 체계적으로 수행하기 위하여 실험계획법의 하나인 부분요인배치법을 사용하였다. 또한 비행시험을 단계적으로 수행하여 비행시험 횟수를 더욱 줄일 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. In developing an aircraft, configuration determination and requirement proofing depend on flight test results. Since the flight tests require much time and high cost, systematic flight test planning and analysis are needed to reduce cost and development time. This paper presents a desirability function approach to present an integrative measure of vibration levels at important positions and suggests a fractional factorial design which is one of the experimental design methods to help perform systematic flight tests. A method to perform flight tests in stages is also suggested to further reduce the number of flight tests.
사출성형의 불량유형과 공정변수 간의 상관관계를 이용한 EVOP 절차

Evolutionary Operation(EVOP) is a method for continuously monitoring and improving a full-scale process to get an optimal operating condition while production is under way. To avoid appreciable changes in the product quality characteristics only small changes are made in the levels of the process variables. One of the reasons why EVOP is not so popular is that people in charge of the EVOP is blamed when the EVOP does not produce good results. We present an EVOP procedure when prior information of the relationship between defect types and process variables is known. The procedure is illustrated with an injection molding case study.
