자기누설탐상법은 비파괴검사 방법의 하나로 대상물체를 외부에서 착자시켜 결함이 발생할 경우에 결함부위에서 자기누설이 발생하도록 하여, 누설된 자기장을 측정하여 결함의 유무와 크기 등을 판정하는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 MFL 방식의 범용 NDT 검사기의 개발을 위해 영구자석을 이용하여 소형 비파괴 검사기를 설계하고, 3차원 유한요소법을 이용하여 해석하고 실제 데이터를 측정하여 그 결과를 비교 분석하였다.

자기누설 탐상시스템은 자성체인 구조물에서 검사 대상 물체를 자화시켜 결함부위에서 자기 누설의 여부를 측정함으로써 구조물의 결함, 부식 등을 탐지하는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 소형 비파괴 검사시스템을 설계하고 제작하였다. 또한, 3차원 유한요소법을 이용하여 해석하고 측정하여 그 결과를 비교 분석하였다.

This paper presents the numerical study of casing treatments on a centrifugal compressor stage for improving stability and enhancing surge margin. A high efficiency, a high pressure ratio and a wide operating range are required for a high performance centrifugal compressor. In the present study, the ring groove arrangement was applied to the transonic centrifugal compressor. According to the numerical analysis by using a commerical code ANSYS-CFX, the unstable phenomena limiting the range of the centrifugal compressors were compared with and without ring groove. Although ring groove decrease the efficiency, but increase the operating range by suppressing the separation at the leading-edge of the impeller especially near shroud part. Newly designed ring groove arrangement improved the compressor performance and increased the operating range of the compressor.

In the welding process, weldments usually include repair weld during the manufacturing process. Repair welds is supposed to cause strong tensile residual stress. Moreover weldments, usually made by Alloy 82/182, is susceptible to PWSCC. Therefore, mitigation of welding residual stress in weldments is important for reliable operating. PWOL is one of the methods for mitigation and verified for over twenty years. In this paper, residual stress distribution of repaired weldments and the effect of PWOL on mitigation is examined for surge nozzle.

Fretting is the oscillatory motion with very small amplitudes, which usually occurs between two solid surfaces in contact. Fretting wear is the removal of material from contacting surfaces through fretting action. Fretting wear of steam generator tubes in nuclear power plant becomes a serious problem in recent years. The materials for the tubes usually are Inconel 690 (I-690) and Inconel 600 (I-600). In this paper, fretting wear tests for I-690 and I-600 were performed under various applied loads in water at room temperature. Results showed that the fretting wear loss of I-690 and I-600 tubes was largely influenced by stick-slip. The fretting wear mechanisms were the abrasive wear in slip regime and the delamination wear in stick regime. Also, I-690 had somewhat better wear resistance than I-600.

Recently authors have proposed a new method to estimate failure strength of a pipe with local wall thinning subject to either internal pressure or global bending. The proposed method was based on the equivalent stress averaged over the minimum ligament in the locally wall thinned region, and the simple scheme to estimate the equivalent stress in the minimum ligament was proposed, based on the reference stress concept. This paper extends the new method to combined internal pressure and global bending. The proposed method is validated against FE results for various geometries of local wall thinning under combined loading. The effect of internal pressure is also investigated in the present study. Comparison of maximum moments, predicted according to the proposed method, with published full-scale pipe test data fur locally wall-thinned pipes under combined internal pressure and global bending, shows good agreement.
