Draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus reuteri KLR3004 from a fattening pig

국내 비육돈에서 분리된 Lactobacillus reuteri KLR3004 유산균주의 분석을 실시하였다. 이 유전체 초안은 크기가 1,996,237 bp이며 G+C content (%)는 38.75%이다. 이 초안속의 149개 contig들로부터 1,837개의 단백질 코딩 유전자가 예측되었다. We sequenced the genome of Lactobacillus reuteri KLR3004 strain isolated from a fattening pig in South Korea. The sequences were assembled into a draft genome containing 1,996,237 bp with a G+C content of 38.75% and 1,837 predicted protein-coding sequences in 149 contigs.

본 연구에서 이용된 Enterococcus faecium JB00008 (KACC 92186P) 균주는 전통발효식품인 청국장에서 분리되었다. 이 균주는 Escherichia coil에 대해 높은 항균활성능력을 보였다. 우리는 이 균주의 유전체의 염기 서열을 분석하였다. 유전체 초안은 500 bp 이상의 contig 34개로 조립되었으며, 크기가 2,847,295 bp이고, G + C 함량(%)는 37.84%이다. 유전체 초안에서 항균활성물질(bacteriocin) 중 하나인 enterocin과 연관된 유전자가 5개 확인되었다. Enterococcus faecium was commonly used as a probiotics and feed additives to human and animals because of their beneficial effects. We sequenced the genome of E. faecium JB00008 (KACC 92186P) isolated from a Korean fermented soybean paste (Cheonggukjang) that showed antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli. A 2,847,295-bp draft genome was obtained, and it has in 37.84% G + C content in 34 contigs (length, ${\geq}500bp$).

한국 만화 원작 OSMU 초기모델 연구

만화를 원천소스로 타산업으로 연계한 1980년대 초기작품으로, 이현세 작가의 <공포의 외인구단>, 박봉성 작가의 <지옥의 링>, 강철수 작가의 <발바리의 추억> 등이 있다. 이 중에서도 특히, <발바리의 추억>은 20년 이상 OSMU(One Source Multy Use)를 진행시킨 작품이다. 이 작품은 신문연재만화를 출발로, 출판만화 단행본, 단행본 시리즈 출간, 실사 영화제작, 연극, 성인용 만화 CD-ROM, 기업홍보물, 그리고 주인공 김달호 스트라이프 티셔츠까지 2차 산업으로의 확장을 이루었다. 20년 이상 원천 콘텐츠로서의 가치를 지니는 것은 본 작품이 가지는 가장 강력한 ‘발바리성’이라는 캐릭터 때문이라고 생각한다. 즉 원작의 기획력과 작품 스토리텔링뿐만 아니라, 캐릭터 스토리텔링은 작품을 오랫동안 기억하고 찾게 만드는 가장 강력한 원천인 것이다. 현재, 연재되고 있는 상당수의 웹툰이 2차 저작물로 제작되거나 계약이 이루어진 상태다. 만화가 원천소스로서 상당한 인정을 받고 있는 시기임은 분명하다. 앞으로도 이러한 추세는 증가할 것이라 생각된다. 강철수 작가의 <발바리의 추억>과 같은 초기작품에 대한 연구 분석을 통하여 앞으로의 원천 콘텐츠로서의 만화의 역할과 위상을 더욱 발전시킬 수 있는 계기를 마련해야 할 것이다. As representative cartoon works in early 1980s which were connected to other creative works in other industries, there are Hyun-Sei, Lee’s 〈Horrifying Minority Baseball Club〉, Bong-Seong, Park’s 〈Hell’s Boxing Ring〉, and Cheol-Soo, Gang’s 〈Balbari’s Memories〉. Of them, Gang’s 〈Balbari’s Memories〉, is the work having developed the OSMU(One Source Multi Use) for over 20 years. This work was first released as a newspaper cartoon, and then published a cartoon book, and followed the series of cartoon books, then was produced as a real film, an adult-cartoon CD-ROM, and even was used as a company’s promotion material, and was transformed as a stripe T-shirt featuring Dal-Ho, Kim, the main character in this cartoon. Like that the work of 〈Balbari’s Memories〉 succeeded in being expanded into the 2nd industry. The reason enabling this work to keep the value of source contents for over 20 years, I think, is because the ‘Balbari‘s personality’ the strongest character in this work. That is, the character’s storytelling ability as well as the original work’s planning power and the work’s storytelling ability are the strongest source for people to remember and read for a long time. Many webtoon (online cartoons) currently carrying on some web sites are being published as the 2nd literary works or are concluded their publication contracts. This times is undoubtedly a period that a cartoon is substantially recognized as an industrial source. I think this trend will be increased. Therefore it will set some chances to develop the role and the status of cartoon, an industrial source content through some research analysis on representative works in early period like Cheol-Soo, Gang’s 〈Balbari’s Memories〉.

The color and functionality of paprika fruits (Capsicum annuum L.) are important factors that determine consumption preferences. Paprika contains a large amount of functional phytochemicals, such as carotenoids and polyphenols. In this study, the total polyphenol contentby total phenol content (TPC) assay, antioxidant activity by 2,2’-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) and ferric reducingantioxidant power (FRAP), and total red pigment content by American spice trade association (ASTA) color were evaluated in a total of93 commercial cultivars and germplasms of red paprika. In results, the total polyphenol content, antioxidant activity by ABTS and FRAP,and total red pigment content ranged from 6.35-11.84 mg GAE·g-1dry weight (DW), 19.80-44.84 mg trolox·g-1DW, 8.82-31.06 mg trolox·g-1DW, and 5.30-75.03 ASTA value, respectively. For each trait, there were 2, 31, 16, and 44 germplasms, respectively, which were higherthan those of the commercial cultivars. The correlation analysis between the total polyphenol content and antioxidant activity (ABTS andFRAP) showed highly positive correlations, with r=0.69 and r=0.75, respectively. In contrast, the ASTA values showed very low negativecorrelations with ABTS (r=-0.15) and FRAP (r=-0.26). These results imply that the antioxidant activity in paprika was largely affected bythe total polyphenol content but was hardly affected by the ASTA value. Accessions 30, 31, and 56 were selected with high red pigmentcontent, and accessions 5, 21, 24, and 26 had high antioxidant activity as well as high polyphenol content. These germplasms will be usefulfor the development of new paprika varieties with high red pigment content or high antioxidant activity.

폼 양식은 우리 일상에서 관심받지 못하는 조용한 주인공이다. 폼 양식들은 우리 주변에 있지만, 대부분의 경우 우리가 알아차리지도 못한다. 그렇지만 그것들은 우리 사회가 기능할 수 있게 하는 deus ex machina(데우스 엑스 마키나)-문학 작품에서 결말을 짓거나 갈등을 풀기 위해 뜬금없는 사건을 일으키는 플롯 장치이다. 글자 그대로 풀이하면 기계 장치로 내려온 신이라는 뜻이다. 와 같다고 할 수 있다.- 우리가 맹목적으로 의지하고 종종 지속적으로 존재하는 것에서 발생하듯이, 우리가 완전히 당연하게 여기는 경향이 있는 유형의 현실인 것이다. 어휘의 모호성으로 인해 혼동될 수 있는 형식이라는 용어(형태로 의도된 형식과의 명백한 동음이의어)는 응용 프로그램, 등록, 증명서, 송장, 설문지, 신고서, 티켓은 식별 가능한 수많은 범주 중 일부일 뿐이지만, 그 중 가장 낮은 공통 분모는 정보를 전송한다는 사실이다. 우리는 폼양식을 신뢰하지만, 특별히 좋아하지는 않는다: 그것들은 사고, 청구서, 병원과 같은 부정적이고 짜증나고 불쾌한 사건들과 장소들과 무의식적으로 연관되어 있는 피할 수 없는 필수품이기 때문이다. 따라서 사용자와 제공자 모두가 경험하는 형태에 대한 불편함은 매우 자연스러운 것이며, 대부분의 형태가 고통받는 형편없고 불분명하며 매력적이지 않으며 불친절한 설계를 고려할 경우 거의 피할 수 없게 된다. 이러한 폼 양식의 특징들과 요소들을 분석해봄으로써 현대 사회에서 필수 불가결한 양식들이 사람들과 조금은 더 가까워질 수 있는 방법을 제시해 보고자 한다. The form style is a quiet protagonist who does not receive attention in our daily life. Forms are all around us, but most of the time we dont even notice them. However, they are deus ex machina that enable our society to function - a plot device that causes random events to conclude or resolve conflicts in literary works. Literally translated, it means God descended from a mechanical device. It is the type of reality we tend to take for granted entirely, as it arises from what we blindly rely on and often continue to exist. The term form (obvious homonym for form intended as form), which can be confused due to lexical ambiguity, is an application, registration, certificate, invoice, questionnaire, declaration, ticket with a number of identifiable categories. Although only a few of them, the lowest common denominator is the fact that they transmit information. We trust, but not particularly like, forms: they are unavoidable necessities that are unconsciously associated with negative, annoying, and unpleasant events and places such as accidents, bills, and hospitals. Thus, the discomfort of forms experienced by both users and providers is very natural and almost unavoidable given the poor, obscure, unattractive and unfriendly design that most forms suffer. By analyzing the characteristics and elements of these forms, I would like to suggest a way to make the forms indispensable in modern society a little closer to people.
