This paper deals with the analysis on the scavenging performance of the poppet-valve type two-stroke engine with RSSV. In order to ultimately optimize scavenging process using RSSV system for an automotive two-stroke engine. the scavenging flow characteristics is investigated by flow visualization under steady condition. The dye is introduced into the cylinder to observe the pathline of the scavenging flow with different RSSV geometries. And single-cycle method using the difference of specific gravity between two working fluids is used to evaluate the scavenging efficiency and the trapping efficiency.<br/>

Active thin films are ubiquitous in the manufacture of all forms of flat panel display (FPD). One of the most widely employed thin films is indium tin oxide (ITO) and metal films used electrically conductive materials in display industries. ITO is widely used for fabrication of LCD, OLED device, and many kinds of optical applications because of transparency in visible range and its high conductivity and metal films are also widely employed as electrodes in various electric and display industries. It is important that removing specific area of layer, such as ITO or metal film on substrate, to fabricate and repair electrode in display industries. In this work, we demonstrate efficient selective ablation process to ITO and aluminum film on glass using a femtosecond laser (λp = 1025㎚) respectively. The femtosecond laser with wavelength of 1025㎚, pulse duration of 400fs, and the repetition rate of 100㎑ was used for selectively removing ITO and Al on glass in the air. We can successfully remove the ITO and Al films with various pulse energies using a femtosecond laser.

Circumstances require improving diesel engines, and many studies have done in constant volume chamber(CVC). However the combustion mechanism of a diesel engine has many difficulties with non-homogeneous nature, so those give a limitation to analyzing with CVC. The study is often given in real engine, but also it has a limitation due to hard modification. To get more easy way with more engine like test, a rapid compression machine has introduced.<br/> This study addresses to designing a rapid compression expansion machine(RCEM) driven by compressed air, and to applying it on IDI diesel combustion chamber.<br/> Firstly rapid machine is introduced and its characteristics are tested, then whole test apparatus for diesel combustion analysis is explained. The system is applied to analyze IDI combustion chamber which results are shown.<br/>

The pent-roof geometry of the cylinder head in a four-valve engine has been known to be favorable to the tumbling motion. The formation of a tumbling vortex is an effective way to enhance pre-ignition turbulence and it eventually promotes faster burning rates. This study presents experimental results of the tumble flow structure, including the flow motion phenomena, tumble mean velocity, angular momentum and turbulence intensity. Two four-valve cylinder heads were selected for changing tumble flow intensity and the tumble velocity was obtained under motoring conditions (at 1000rpm) by LDV measurement<br/>
