생물학적 유추와 유기주의 모더니즘의 형성 및 발전과정에 관한 고찰

현대 디자인 이론과 실습에 있어서 유기적이라는 용어는 빈번하게 사용되고 있다. 이 용어는 디자인의 방법론 상의 문제를 다룰 때 사용되기도 하고, 최종적인 디자인 결과물의 특성을 나타내기도 한다. 방법론 상의 문제에서는 유기적 관계라는 용어로 보통 언급되어지고, 결과물을 평가할 때는 유기적 형태, 유기주의 디자인, 생체유기적 형태 등으로 표현하기도 한다. 이렇게 다양한 명칭으로 디자인의 여러 분야에서 폭넓게 활용되고 있는 바, 이 유기적이라는 용어의 정의와 기원 그리고 철학적 배경을 파악하여 현대 디자인에서의 의의를 찾아 보고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 유기적이라는 개념의 기저 상태를 파악하여 이 용어의 다양한 의미가 어떻게 변천해갔는지를 파악코자 했다. 먼저 건축 디자인 분야에 있어서 이 용어가 중요하게 대두하기 시작한 시점인 19세기 말의 설리반과 프랭크 로이드 라이트의 유기적 건축 개념을 파악하고, 그 개념의 최초의 기원을 그리스 아리스텔레스의 철학에서 찾았다. 또한 19세기의 낭만주의와 진화론과 같은 생물학적 개념이 라이트의 유기적 건축 개념에 영향을 미친 요인을 파악했다. 직접적인 생물학적 유추로서 유기적인 형태의 기원은 고전주의나 고딕 건축에서 그 유래를 찾아볼 수 있었고, 무엇보다 디자인 운동의 주류에서 생물학적 유추를 적극 수용한 것은 아르 누보였다. 이러한 태도들이 현대 조각의 영향 아래서 어떻게 1960년대의 유기주의 모더니즘을 태동시켰는지를 확인할 수 있었다. 60년대이 후의 발전 과정과 21세기의 현 시점에서 유기주의라 불릴 수 있는 작품들의 경향이 근본적으로 라이트의 유기적 건축 개념과 60년대의 유기주의 모더니즘에 그 뿌리를 두고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. Recently, we can find the organic, free flow and curvilinear design which looks like organic creatures. Designers call these objects organic design, which means the design comes from the concept of the organic modernism in the 60's. Unfortunately, however, the exact meaning of organic design is so ambiguous that the problem of communication occurs often in the field. In order to find the exact meaning of it I payed attention to the movement of Organic modernism of 60's, and again I traced back to the concept of Organic architecture of Frank Llyod Wright, to the study of biology in 19th century, and even to the philosophy of Greek Aristole and biological analogy of Gothic architecture. I found that the original meaning of the word, organic, in design and architectural connotation comes from the concept of Organic architecture of Frank Llyod Wright. The concept of organic architecture grew enormous in the 60's. The word, organic, currently used originates from that period. I found the two characteristics on the basis of the design and architectural works of 60's. One thing is 'organic wholeness' that subsumes the harmonious relationship between the whole and the parts, but is also tied to natural process such as birth, growth, and death from the conceptual point of view. This point of view tends to create two forms of design. One is the additive form that construct the whole form from the smaller parts, and the other is one form that contains the every parts in deep relationship. On the other hand the other thing indicates the form so called 'Biomorphic form' through the biological analogy. This point of view tends to put on the free flow and continuous shape. These day the organic modernism revives in every field od design, but the characteristics of recent organic design tendencies are somewhat different from the organic modernism of 60's. The recent tendency absorbes the characteristics of De-Construction and Surfacism using natural analogy instead of biological one.

Nadja의 초현실적 의식 현상

Nadja est le moins facile des livres de Breton, et la caracte´ristique de Nadja se loge dans le contraste entre la partie consacre´e a` Nadja et l`e´pilogue ou` rayonnent le nouvel amour et sa facilite´. Cette oeuvre semble un roman policier car les indices ne renviennent a` rien de saisissable. Il se de´veloppe avec la dialectique de l`ordre et du de´sordre. Breton adopte Nadja pour trouver la re´ponse de la question ; Qui suis-je?. Car Nadja, elle entretient des me´tamorphoses et des e´nigmes dans sa conscience. Andre´ Breton voudrait sortir de la causalite´ qui est a` l`origine de la dualite´ humaine. Il a mis authentiquement en lumie`re l`inconscient, la folie, l`enfance, l`imagination, le fantastique et bien d`autres the`mes plus obscurs. Il a refle´te´ ces e´le´ments aux images de Nadja dans toutes ses oeuvres pour e´clairer le caracte`re de la litte´rature surre´aliste. Au total, l`e´le´ment de Nadja adopte´ pour Breton est le plus apte a` provoquer l`e´merveillement d`une rencontre impre´visible entre deux ou plusieurs personnes, objets ou situations hors de tout projet consciement e´labore´. Il semble qu`on puisse aussi de´membrer Nadja et re´partir ses e´le´ments parmi les autres textes de Breton. Avec Nadja, nous ne pe´ne´trons jamais dans l`espace d`une myrthologie grandiose et de tous les signes qui bordent l`expression de la litte´rature surre´aliste de Breton, guide´ par la de´mente, conservant leur mate´rialite´ de´risoire et leur ambigui¨te´. Breton de´samorce le soupc¿on romanesque en unite´s plus vastes, au sein desquelles l`accumulation et le phe´nome`ne analogue cre´ent l`impresson de la cohe´rence dans le discontinu et l`anti-litte´raire. Nous pouvons saisir l`identite´ de Nadja : l`a^me errante. Et nous pouvons sentir pariculie`rement l`au-dela`, le surre´el et l`alchimie des e´le´ments surre´alistes dans les images de Nadja.

In this study, hourly measurements of $PM_{2.5}$ and its major chemical constituents such as organic and elemental carbon (OC and EC), and ionic species were made between January 15 and February 10, 2018 at the air pollution intensive monitering station in Gwangju. In addition, 24-hr integrated $PM_{2.5}$ samples were collected at the same site and analyzed for OC, EC, water-soluble OC (WSOC), humic-like substance (HULIS), and ionic species. Over the whole study period, the organic aerosols (=$1.6{\times}OC$) and $NO_3{^-}$ concentrations contributed 26.6% and 21.0% to $PM_{2.5}$, respectively. OC and EC concentrations were mainly attributed to traffic emissions with some contribution from biomass burning emissions. Moreover, strong correlations of OC with WSOC, HULIS, and $NO_3{^-}$ suggest that some of the organic aerosols were likely formed through atmospheric oxidation processes of hydrocarbon compounds from traffic emissions. For the period between January 18 and 22 when $PM_{2.5}$ pollution episode occurred, concentrations of three secondary ionic species ($=SO{_4}^{2-}+NO_3{^-}+NH_4{^+}$) and organic matter contributed on average 50.8 and 20.1% of $PM_{2.5}$, respectively, with the highest contribution from $NO_3{^-}$. Synoptic charts, air mass backward trajectories, and local meteorological conditions supported that high $PM_{2.5}$ pollution was resulted from long-range transport of haze particles lingering over northeastern China, accumulation of local emissions, and local production of secondary aerosols. During the $PM_{2.5}$ pollution episode, enhanced $SO{_4}^{2-}$ was more due to the long-range transport of aerosol particles from China rather than local secondary production from $SO_2$. Increasing rate in $NO_3{^-}$ was substantially greater than $NO_2$ and $SO{_4}^{2-}$ increasing rates, suggesting that the increased concentration of $NO_3{^-}$ during the pollution episode was attributed to enhanced formation of local $NO_3{^-}$ through heterogenous reactions of $NO_2$, rather than impact by long-range transportation from China.
