Vol.19 No.1
In recent, as rediscovery of the modern value is develop through the support by the government and the reinterpretation of the traditional culture, a Korean-style house(Hanok) also becomes an object of interest. Among these various viewpoints to see the Korean-style house, the necessity of a new spatial design approach to contain the types and functions of the architectural space of the Hanok appropriate to the modern society is raised which is not a passive approach to preserve the existing cultural assets. Out of the methods of the new spatial design of the Hanok which reflect the paradigm of the times, this study has the purpose to make an approach from the viewpoint of ‘Restoration design’. As the 21st century started, the recycle design whose active discussion and performance is made largely by Europe and Japan can be called a design method in the hardware part which enables continuous adaptive use of a building by applying a new use purpose and method to a building which doesn’t use the recycle design or has low efficiency. In that meaning, it can be considered to be a very important architectural activity historically, architecturally and spatially. Based on the methodological characteristics of the recycle design, this study largely divides the types of recycle into coherent recycle and imagery recycle and dedto s detailed methods of space, consinto ion and material and wardrobe used for each case to analyze the methods of concrete recycle design through the methodological analysis of recycle cases of the existing modern buildings. For the objects of recycle cases of the Hanok made recently based on the design methods acquired here, it was examined how the architectural and spatial characteristics of the Hanok can be reconsinto ed through what kinrecycmethods. The approach of the recycle design is considered to be a cornerstone to show a new architectural and spatial value in the viewpoint of the Hanok existence in modern times.

Yong Ho,Park. Sang Hun,Han. Sang Ju,Shin. Vol.14 No.3
The modern tunnel tends to be long and deep and therefore has a lot of difficulties for effective smoke ventilation on fire due to the semi-hermetic structure. Also, it has difficulty on evacuation and fire fighting by toxic gases together with high increase rate of temperature. The smoke occurring on fire is to avoid spreading over adjacent area and secure a escape road for prolonging the escape time. Accordingly, test on performance evaluation has been carried out applying air curtain, local smoke extraction facilities, in this study. As a result of the test, it can be seen that the smoke barrier formed by the air curtain has an effect on prevention of the smoke layer spreading. In addition, in the result of the measurement on the carbon monoxide inside and outside the barrier by the air curtain, there was difference of 40-time carbon monoxide inside and outside. Therefore, it has been shown that the effect to prevent the smoke from spreading is expected on fire of the tunnel applying the air curtain.

Vol.30 No.1
The purpose of this study was to develop a core exercise program for balance and lower extremity muscle strength and to evaluate its effects using biomechanical variables. A total of 26 participants were included in the study and 3 dropped out during the study. The participants who completed 8-week core exercise program were 10 in control group (CG) and 13 in exercise group (EG). Body balance and the lower extremity muscle strength were examined pre and post exercise program by using AMTI force platform and Isokinetic dynamometer. Center of pressure (COP) ranges showed a significant difference between groups (F=7.75, p=.011). There was a statistically significance in correlation effects of M/L COP velocity but not in A/P COP velocity. Hip extensor showed a significant difference between pre and post-test (F=6.82, p=.016). Participants in the EG showed statistically larger values A/P COP range, M/P COP velocity, and A/P COP velocity than in CG at pre-test (p<.05). Participants in training group decreased their level of M/L COP velocity at post-test compared with pre-test. Knee flexor in training group found to be increased after the exercise program significantly (p<.05). The correlation effect of body balance and lower extremities strength showed negative correlation between A/P COP velocity and Ankle plantar-flexor (r= -.25, p=.046). The core training was found to be an effective method for improving the balance and increasing isokinetic strength of lower extremity.

At the completion of the construction, various finishing processes are concentrated. This imposes a burden on the on-site manager and imposes on experience based quality control, thereby causing deviations in the quality of construction depending on supervisor or worker's individual competence. In addition, the information related to quality control is frequently scattered in various types of documents such as specifications and drawings, and checkpoints are frequently omitted. It is necessary to provide a tool that can effectively provide the practitioner before or during the inspection work by systematically storing the information related to the defect prevention and linking them in a mutually referential state. This paper proposes an quality inspection support model that can systematically store necessary information on activity or room basis for the quality check of the apartment house finishing work. Establish a defect prevention information base and a information nexus by linking specifications, design standards, checklists, regulations, defect cases, and drawings to the finishing process and the rooms. Based on this, information registration and search interface are presented. It can contribute to securing a certain level of construction quality or more by suggesting a frame that can be utilized by linking various defects prevention information with the focus on closing activity and room.

Background: There are a few reports with conflicting results regarding the potentiation of hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) by repeated hypoxic challenges. The aim of this study was to determine if preoperative one lung ventilation (OLV) in the lateral position (LP) for a short time decreases the development of arterial hypoxemia and improves the level of arterial oxygenation via the potentiation of HPV in patients undergoing thoracic surgery with OLV. Methods: Forty patients were randomly divided into two groups according to presence or absence of preoperative OLV. Preoperative OLV in LP was achieved for 10 minutes with 100% O2 in group P (n = 20). Thereafter, the two lungs were again ventilated with 50% O2 until OLV with 100% O2 had been achieved. In group C (n = 20), the two lungs were continuously ventilated with 50% O2 until OLV with 100% O2 was achieved. The arterial blood samples were obtained 15 minutes after the two lung ventilation in the supine position (baseline) during preoperative OLV in LP, before pulmonary vein ligation, as well as before and after pulmonary artery ligation. The development of arterial hypoxemia (peripheral blood oxygen saturation in pulse oximetry < 95%) in patients undergoing thoracic surgery with OLV was also recorded. Results: Arterial hypoxemia during OLV was observed in 2 cases in group C and 3 cases in group P. There was a similar level of arterial oxygen tension during OLV between the two groups. Conclusions: This study showed that the preoperative OLV in LP for 10 minutes neither potentiated the HPV response during OLV nor decreased the frequency of arterial hypoxemia during OLV. As the buildings becomes larger and more complicated, various facility managemet systems have been developed to support increasing maintenance workload. However, the large amount of maintenance information are not being utilized and reused properly. In addition, the information necessary for the maintenance is not transferred from the design/construction to the maintenance. In this study, the authors proposed a program-level smart architectural maintenance framework. A maintenance process model based on the use of BIM was developed and the information occurred at each process was identified. The proposed framework can contribute to promote continuously improving maintenance quality in architectural work by supporting the practitioner"s work through systematic information management.
