The simulation of refrigeration cycle is important since the experimental approach is costly and time-consuming. The present paper focuses on the simulation of a refrigeration cycle equipped with a capillary tube-suction line heat exchanger(SLHX), which is widely used in small vapor compression refrigeration systems. The present simulation is based on fundamental conservation equations of mass, momentum, and energy. These equations are solved through an iterative process. The non-adiabatic capillary tube model is based on homogeneous two-phase flow model. This model is used to understand the refrigerant flow behavior inside the non-adiabatic capillary tube. The simulation results show that both of the location and length of heat exchange section influence the coefficient of performance (COP).
전통마을의 형국이 비보경관(裨補景觀) 형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

The Korean traditional villages located less prepared in circumstances than perfect in ideal circumstances, and the man-made Bibo landscape replaced the role of natural landscape. The Bibo landscape utilized mainly forest, built-mountain, pond, mast and the name of a place etc, these Bibo landscape of traditional villages followed the condition of natural topography. These conditions reflected various characteristic, and decided the outline of Bibo landscape.
전통마을에서 인지(認知)되는 흉상(凶相)이 비보경관 형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

An ideal spot which has perfect circumstances isn’t common in Korean traditional villages, so villages were positioned at the place where had a certain circumstances, after they found wrong circumstances having a bad effect in villages, they had made Bibo landscape. Where there were the defective places, they had made Bibo together. Where there were the harmful places, they had made Oyumseung which pressed the energy using dislikable things. These Bibo landscape had made up for the unfit places in living environment, and had created pleasant living places having a good effect in human life. The BIbo landscape type will be directly influenced by the shape and type of wrong circumstances being noticed in villages.

본 연구에서는 폐기물 소각재를 활용한 용융슬래그를 사용하여 여과재로 활용하기 위한 여과실험을 수행하였으며, 표준여과사와 비교함으로서 용융슬래그의 여과재 적용 가능성을 검토하였다. 표준여과사와 소각용융슬래그를 이용하여 여과실험을 수행한 결과 SS와 COD 제거율은 표준여과사와 소각용융슬래그가 비슷한 처리율을 보였으며, T-P의 경우는 6.6%, T-N은 소각용융슬래그가 27.0%가 더 높은 제거율을 보였다. 용융슬래그와 표준여과사를 이용하여 시간변화에 따른 여과율실험을 수행한 결과 소각용융슬래그 No.40#(0.43 mm)의 경우 여과능이 표준여과사와 동등한 여과능을 보이는 것으로 나타남에 따라 여과재 입경을 고려할 경우 표준여과사 보다 동등하거나 그 이상의 여과성능을 예상할 수 있으며, 소각용융슬래그가 더 빠른 여과속도를 나타내어 소각용융슬래그가 표준여과사에 비하여 시간당 통과 유량을 증대시킬 수 있고 면적당 처리 유량이 크게 증대 가능하다. The objective of the study is to find a way to utilize the MSWI(municipal solid waste incinerator) slag as filter material and used the standard sand as actual filtering experiment to analyze filtering efficiency. As the result of filtering test, the removal efficiency of SS and COD showed about same level of filtering capability similar to standard filter sand. The MSWI slag has shown 27.0% higher with T-N, and 6.6% higher with T-P compared to the standard filter sand. Also, the removal efficiency comparison result with No. 40#(0.43mm) the MSWI slag showed equal or greater filtering capability and higher filtration velocity. Thus, the MSWI slag could help to advance treatment efficiency if used as filtering material instead of the filter sand.
백화사설초 메탄올 추출물에 의한 HL-60 세포고사과정에 있어서의 transcriptional factors 활성변화 연구

Objective : Hedyotis diffusa has been used as an anticancer agent for several decades in oriental medicine. We test whether the methanol extract of the herb affects transcriptional activation factors including $NF-{\kappa}B$ and AP-1. Methods : 1. HL-60 cells were treated with various concentrations(from 200 to $50{\mu}g/ml$) of methanol extract and $H_2O$ extract($200{\mu}g/ml$)of hedyotis diffusa, After 48h later, the cells were tested for viability by MTT assay. 2. The HL-60 cells were treated with $200{\mu}g/ml$ of methanol extract for the indicated periods. First. Nuclear extracts were isolated and incubated with oligonucleotide probe of $NF-{\kappa}B$ and AP-1. Second. Nuclear extracts were isolated and reacted with p50, p65. c-rel pan-Jun, c-Jun, JunB. JunD antibody on ice for 30min. Finally The cell lysates were prepared and analyzed by western blotting using anti-Fas, anti-FasL and anti-p53 antibody. Results : 1. The methanol extract decreases the viability of human lymphoid origin leukemia HL-60 cells in a dose-dependent manner. 2. $NF-{\kappa}B$ is rapidly activated by the addition of the methanol extract, reaches a peak at 30min and gradually returns to resting level. We confirm that $NF-{\kappa}B$ is a heterodimer mainly composed of p65 subunit with c-Rel. 3. Transcriptional activation of AP-1 is detected at 30min and reaches a maximum at 1hr after stimulation of the cells with the methanol extract. AP-1 is mainly composed with Jur-D and partially Jug-B proteins. 4. the methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa induces the expression of Fas, Fas ligand and p53 proteins of HL-60 cells in a time dependent fashion. Conclusions : These results suggest that the methanol extract of Hedyotis diffusa exerts anticancer effects to induce the death of human leukomic HL-60 cells via activation of trascriptional factors such as $NF-{\kappa}B$ and AP-1, increase in expression of Fas mediated signalling proteins, and induction of tumor suppressor gene. p53.

In July, 2000, A 71-year-old man complained of these symptoms: frequent defecation, urgent need to defecate, fecal leakage, anal pain, flatus, and diarrhea after surgery for colorectal cancer. The symptoms are caused specifically by injury to the bowel and sphincter function. The patient suffered physically and psychologically; but, there was no special treatment in western medicine. Therefore, we treated him with electrical acupuncture for the management of sphincter tone and the alleviation of anal pain. We also treated him with herbal medicine for the recovery of strength and gastro-colic function. As a consequence of these treatments, the bowel disorders improved immediately and successfully, even though there were some limitations. So, We report this case with a brief review of related literatures.
마찰 계수와 점성 계수 모델이 단열 모세관 유동에 미치는 영향 평가

Capillary tubes are widely used as expansion device in small refrigeration systems. The refrigerant flowing in the capillary tube experiences frictional and accelerational head losses, and flashing, simultaneously. In this paper flow characteristics of adiabatic capillary tubes with various friction factor models, two-phase viscosity models, and two-phase frictional multiplier models were simulated. The predicted pressure distribution, mass flow rate are compared with experimental data reported in literature. It is confirmed that the predicting accuracy with homogeneous model can be improved by employing the suitable correlations of friction factor and two-phase viscosity model, and two-phase frictional multiplier.
