트위터 프로필 사진 유형과 메시지 유형이 트위터 계정소유자 (TAO)의 인상형성에 미치는 영향

최근 소셜미디어를 통한 커뮤니케이션이 늘어나면서 소셜미디어에서의 인상형성에 대한 관심도 급증하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 트위터 프로필 사진의 유형과 타임라인 메시지 유형이 트위터 계정소유자(TAO)의 인상을 어떻게 형성하는가를 알아보고자 했다. 즉, 온라인상에서 TAO의 메인화면을 구성할 때 격식적 사진과 비격식적 사진, 정보적 메시지와 일상적 메시지 등 각각의 유형에 따라 피험자가 느끼는 인상이 어떤 차이를 보이는지를 분석했다. 더 나아가 온ㆍ오프라인으로 각각 관계를 발전시킬 의향 역시 측정하였다. 그 결과, 메시지 유형이 정보적 메시지일 경우, 일상적인 메시지일 경우보다 TAO의 신뢰도 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 온라인 안에서의 관계 형성 의지를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 프로필 사진이 비격식적인 사진일 때가 격식적인 사진일 때보다 TAO의 호감도를 높여주었다. 정보적 메시지와 격식적 사진이 함께 제시 되었을 때 신뢰도가 가장 높았다. 일상적 메시지와 비격식적 사진이 함께 제시되었을 때 신뢰도는 가장 낮은 반면 호감도는 가장 높았다. 결과적으로 소셜미디어에서의 인상형성을 TAO가 원하는 양상으로 구성할 수 있을 것이라는 의미를 도출해낼 수 있었다. Increasing communication through social media forming impression becomes more important. In this research, how three stimulus can build the impression of Twitter Account Owner(TAO) such as the types of the profile pictures, the types of timeline messages and the number of followers. We analysed the feelings of respondents when they face TAO’s formal picture and informal picture, informative message and normal message, the number of followers. We, in addition, measured the willingness of respondents whether they want to develop their relationship online and offline as well. As a result, informative message draws positive reliability and makes respondent want to build deeper relationship with TAO at online. Respondent answered TAO’s informal picture was more likable than formal picture and more reliable when informative message and formal picture were provided together. Our study shows that there are actual differences at attitudes of respondents by the types of the profile pictures and the types of timeline messages. Thus, we can conclude that TAOs can modify their impressions at online as they hope to.

숙의민주주의의 이론적 전망에 기초하여, 바람직한 민주주의를 위한 온라인 토론의 모습은 어떤 것이어야 하는가에 주목한 본 연구는 숙의민주주의의 개념을 통해 온라인상에서 일어나고 있는 토론의 양상을 객관적이고 체계적으로 분석할 수 있는 지표를 개발하고자 하는 목적을 가지고 있다. 지표에는 정치적 정당성과 다양한 의견의 확보를 위해 필수적인 참여와 상호작용의 측면, 다양한 의견과 논점의 제시, 정확한 정보와 이성에 기반한 논증, 그리고 토론 참여자들의 숙의를 촉진하는 적절한 시민성의 덕목이 어느 정도로 나타나고 있는지의 측면이 포함된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 온라인 토론 평가지표를 제시하고 이를 통해 실제 온라인상에서 이루어지고 있는 토론의 양상을 분석하였다. 이러한 지표개발과 경험적 분석의 목적은 일차적으로 온라인 토론의 양상을 적절하게 파악할 수 있는 분석틀을 제안하는 것에 있으며, 나아가 실제로 온라인 토론공간이 숙의민주주의를 실현하는데 얼마나 기여를 하고 있는 지를 탐색하고 우리 사회의 민주적 토론 문화의 정착을 위해 나야가야 할 지향점을 도출하려는 데 있다. The primary purpose of this paper is to develop indicators for evaluating the cyber public sphere for facilitating deliberative democracy. Cyber public sphere has made remarkable progress in recent years and became important political discussion space for the general public. Even though many researchers has studied the potential of this space whether it has possibility of realization of deliberation in real conditions, however, it is evident that the evaluation on the cyber public sphere had not been performed systematically. Thus, this study tried to clarify the factors that indicate deliberative discussions in cyber space based on preceding researches. The indicators are comprised of the participation and the interactivity that is a prerequisite for the political legitimacy and various opinions, of the diversity of opinions and points, of the reasonable discussions based on accurate information, and of the civility that facilitates deliberation between participants in discussion. Based on these indicators, we also examine the present conditions of Korean cyber public sphere to find out the potential of deliberative democracy in cyberspace. This study suggests that these indicators and empirical investigation can help analyze the present conditions, as well as helpful for maximizing the democratic potential of political discourses in cyberspace.
