This case study was peformed to assess the effectiveness of taping therapy for the patient who have delayed onset muscle soreness(DOMS ). The results were as follows: 1. Pain degree of VAS was decreased at every taping therapy. 2. The range of motion of ankle joint was increased at every taping therapy. 3. Diameter of calf muscle was increased at every taping therapy. 4. Pattern of gait was normalized at every taping therapy. We found improve of pain degree, ROM of ankle joint, diameter of calf muscle, and pattern of gait. Therefore we can infer that taping therapy had effectiveness to those who had DOMS.

In order to investigate a pathogenesis of liver damage induced by skin burn, thermal injury was induced by scald burn on entirely dorsal surface in rats (total body surface area 30%) except for inhalated injury. At 5 and 24 h after scald burn, biochemical assay in skin tissue, serum and liver tissue were examined. The effects of burn injury on the levels of glutathione, lipid peroxide and on the activities of oxygen of histologic and ultrasound changes, measuring. the protein concentration in plasma, and counting the number of intravascular polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Post burn 24 h, the content of glutathione was decreased (47.50%), whereas that of lipid peroxide was increased (37.01%), and the activity of superoxide dismutase was diminished (p<0.001). Thus decreasing the capacity of oxygen free radical scavenging enzymes led to oxidative injury in skin tissue. In liver tissue, at 24 h after scald burn, both the content of glutathione and the activity of catalase were markedly decreased (p<0.01, p<0.05), thus the imbalance between free radical generating and scavenging capacities has been induced.

This study was investigated the effects of ultrasound for collagen fiber in open wounded of skin. Each group was treated under the following conditions; group I was applied 1MHz continue wave US. group II was applied 1 MHz pulse wave, group III was applied control group. The results were prominent in observation of scar tissue of group II.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of home exercise program on the improvement of muscle strength in the elderly. Subjects were forty members living in Daegu (20 males, 20 females), between 65 and 81 years of age. The subjects were divided into two groups; an experimental group and a control group, and each group included 10 males and 10 females. The subjects for the experimental group were participated in the home exercise program for 8 weeks, between April 2001 and June 2001. The results of this study follow: 1.General characteristics statistically significantly affecting for knee extensor strength were weight, height, right sight vision, diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, obesity and thigh BMD; vision and thigh BMD were for knee flexor strength 2. After the exercise program, knee extensor strength in the experimental group improved 30.8% (p<0.001), and knee flexor strength improved 23.9% (p<0.001). 3. After the exercise program, there was significant difference in knee extensor strength (p<0.05) and knee flexor strength (p<0.05) between the experimental group and the control group. As a continuous health care for the elderly using this home exercise program could be helpful to enhance health of the elderly and promote their quality of life.
Cu가 흡착된 Si(100) - 2×1 표면의 원자구조 및 전자구조 연구

Cu가 흡착된 Si(100) 2×1 표면의 원자구조와 전자구조를 연구하기 위해 기판온도와 증착량을 변화시키면서 각 조건에 대해서 LEED 패턴과 수직방향(θ_e=0°) UPS 스펙트럼을 분석했다. UPS 스펙트럼들에는 상온증착했을 때 1.3 ML 이하 증착량에서 실리사이드와 관련된 전자구조가 약하게 나타났고, 증착량을 증가시킴에 따라 Cu 3d 밴드의 세기가 급격히 증가하였다. 실리사이드 형성을 나다내는 전자구조는 상온증착 후 300℃ 이상 열처리 하거나 기판온도 400℃에서 증착했을 때 더욱 뚜렷이 구분되어 관찰 되였다. 이 전자구조들은 실리사이드의 유리 및 탈착온도인 750℃로 열처리 했을 때 사라졌다. 특히, 기판온도 400℃에서 증착하면 낮은 증착량에서는 페르미 준위를 지나는 표면상태 피크가 관측되었다. Rigid band model에 따르면 이 피크는 표면의 비어있는 전자상태(surface empty state)에 Cu의 4s¹ 전자가 체워지면서 생기는 것으로 여겨진다. LEED 패턴 관찰에서는 상온증착 및 상온증착 후 열처리 했을 때 Cu에 의한 초격자상은 관찰되지 않았지만, 기판의 온도를 변화시키면서 증착하였을 때 기판온도에 따라 Cu에 의한 여러가지 초격자상이 관찰되었다. 즉, 400℃에서 1.5 ML 증착하면 청정표면 2×1+2×2, 450℃에서 0.5 ML 증착하면 청정표면 2×1+5×1, 450℃에서 3 ML 증착하면 청정표면 2×1+2×2+5×2+5×5+10×2 등 LEED 패턴을 관찰할 수 있었다. We have investigated the atomic and electronic structures of Cu-adsorbed Si(100)-2×1 surface, by using LEED and UPS. In the UPS spectra, the weak structures (peaks) related to Cu silicide appeared for low coverages less than 1.3 ML at room temperature, and the intensity of Cu 3d band rapidly increased with respect to Cu coverages. The Cu silicide peaks become clear after Cu deposition at room temperature followed by high temperature annealing (≥300℃) or for Cu deposited surface at the substrate temperature of 400℃. On the other hand, these structures disappeared by annealing at 750℃. At very low coverage, a surface state near Fermi level (E_F) was observed at 400℃. According to the rigid band model, it seems to be originated from the surface empty state occupied partially with Cu 4s¹ electron. In the LEED patterns, no Cu-induced superstructure observed for RT-depositions and post annealing, while there were several surface structures which depend on substrate temperatures and coverages. we observed the clean surface 2×1+2×2 phase for 1.5 ML at 400℃, the clean surface 2×1+5×1 phase for 0.5 ML at 450℃ and the clean surface 2×1+2×2+5×2+5×5+10×2 mixed phases for 3 ML at 450℃.

There are some efforts to improve the performance of electrical heat pump(EHP) and replace it with an alternative cooling equipment such as gas engine-driven heat pump(GHP), a gas cooling equipment, in order to solve the problem of summer electricity supply through reducing the summer electricity peak. This paper analyzes cost-benefit in accordance with replacement of electrical cooling system by gas cooling system using california standard test and sensitivity analysis of some scenarios.
