Mushroom is well known for a safe food for a long time and, what is more, has a lot of useful characteristics related on the pharmacological activities. It is expected to be one of the most important functional food due to its diverse bioactive compounds. Especially, medical potentiality on immunomodulator and antitumor continues to be focused. Recent research trend and commercialization of functional healthy food using mushroom and its bioactive compounds will be herein introduced. Industrialization of mushroom functional substances will be also discussed.
Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous 변이군주에 의한 Carotenoids 생산 발효의 특성 연구

Various ${\beta}$-ionone resistant mutants were isolated from the wild-type red yeast Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous KCTC 7704. Although the growth of X. dendrorhous KCTC 7704 was strongly inhibited at 0.025 mM ${\beta}$-ionone, one of the ${\beta}$-ionone resistant mutants isolated at 0.1 mM ${\beta}$-ionone by NTG mutagenesis showed rather 70% of relative survival at 0.15 mM ${\beta}$-ionone. Fermentation kinetics study with the mutant was carried out at $20^{\circ}C$ for 4 days in 300-mL baffled flasks. The mutant yielded up to 2.3-fold higher carotenoids content(viz. $1.2{\mu}g$ of total carotenoids per mg of dry cells) compared with the wild-type strain. The production of metabolites such as organic acids could be neglected. Studies on the kinetics with various carbon substrates revealed both an increase in final dry cell mass and a higher total carotenoids content in cell mass with glucose when compared to fructose or sucrose. As a further part of study, the effect of pH on the fermentation kinetics was investigated in glucose-limited chemostat at a dilution rate of $0.04h^{-1}$. When compared to steady-state kinetic parameters obtained at pH 4.0, a significant reduction in cell concentration at pH 3.0 and a lower carotenoids content at pH 5.2 were evident. 본 연구에서는 적효모 X. dendrorhous KCTC 7704로부터 여러 ${\beta}$-ionone 내성 변이균주를 선별하였다. 야생균 KCTC 7704는 ${\beta}$-ionone 0.021 mM 농도에서 생육이 현저히 저하되었지만, NTG처리 후 ${\beta}$-ionone 0.1 mM 농도에서 선별된 변이균주는 ${\beta}$-ionone 0.15 mM에서도 70% 이상의 상대 생육율을 나타내는 매우 강한 ${\beta}$-ionone 내성을 갖고 있었다. 여러 ${\beta}$-ionone 농도에서 선별한 변이균주들을 $20^{\circ}C$에서 4일간 회분식 발효로 배양하여 그 특성을 조사하였다. 선별된 가장 우수한 변이균주는 야생균주보다 카로티노이드 생성능이 2.3배 향상(즉 $1.2{\mu}g$ of total carotenoids per mg of dry cells)되었으며 유기산과 같은 대사산물은 거의 생성하지 않았다. 여러 탄소원 들에 대한 비교 발효특성 연구 결과 과당이나 자당을 사용했을 때봐 비교하여 포도당 배지에서 최종 균체농도 및 총 카로티노이드 생성량이 많았다. 포도당이 제한되는 연속발효(dilution rate $0.04h^{-1}$) 실험을 통하여 pH의 영향을 조사한 결과 균체농도 및 총 카로티노이드 생성은 pH 4.0 조건하에서 최적인 것을 알 수 있었다.

이 연구는 평생 발명교육 프로그램 개발의 기초를 마련하기 위하여 수행되었으며, 평생 발명교육의 설계 및 운영방안을 탐색하여 제시하고자 하였다. 이 연구의 결과로서 제시한 평생 발명교육 설계 및 운영방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성인 발명교육 프로그램을 분석결과, (준)전문인력 대상으로 지식재산 법, 제도 등 보호분야 콘텐츠가 약65%로 편중되어 있었으며 이를 창출, 보호, 활용이라는 체계적 절차를 교육내용에 담도록 개선되어야 한다. 둘째, 평생 발명교육은 교육대상(개인, 기업, 가족), 교육기간(1/2/3/10일. 캠프형), 운영주체(자체형, 보급형)라는 3차원 설계모형에 따라 프로그램을 설계·개발한다. 셋째, 평생 발명교육은 교육 대상과 주제에 따른 산업협회, 지역의 대학 및 평생교육기관, 시·도 교육청 등 관련 기관과 연계하는 운영방안이 필요하다. The purpose of this investigation was to design model a program for lifetime invention education and to suggest its operation plan in order to provide a foundation for lifetime invention education program. The main results of this study were as follows; Firstly, based on the analysis of invention education program for the public, the protected contents such as intellectual property, law, and institution for professionals are approximately 65%. Thus, it has to be improved by including systematic procedures (i.e., creation, protection, utilization) in the education content. Secondary, lifetime invention education program has to be developed according to education target (individual, company, family), education period (1,2,3,10 days, camping), and operating subjects (self, entry-level). Thirdly, lifetime invention education needs operating plans in conjunction with the relevant agencies such as industry associations, local universities, continuing education institutions, and provincial offices of education.
공과대학생들의 학습성과(PO)에 대한 교육요구도 사례 연구

The purpose of this study is to provide the information of decision making that can be used to improve curriculum of engineering education by surveying and analyzing that educational needs of OO university engineering students about program outcomes. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, it was found that engineering students surveyed valued much of the necessity of PO2(analysis ․ experiment), PO3(design capability), PO6(teamwork) among program outcomes. In addition, it was found that engineering students surveyed thought their ability was low in PO3(design capability), PO4(problem solving), PO10 (knowledge of current events). Second, it was found that the order of educational needs about program outcomes was PO3(design capability), PO2(analysis ․ experiment), PO1(knowledge ․ application), PO5(practical ability), PO4(problem solving) which suggested that engineering students surveyed had high educational needs for engineering program outcomes. On the other hand, it was found that engineering students surveyed showed lower awareness of PO7, PO10, PO11 which had characteristics of humanities. It is necessary that systematic establishment of course completion system in basic design, element design and comprehensive design by giving weight to design education that aims to strengthen design capability should be made in curriculum of engineering education. It was found that there was considerable difference in educational needs about program outcomes especially in PO1(analysis ․ experiment), PO4(problem solving), PO5(practical ability), PO6(teamwork) according to grade, gender and specialty and therefore this should be considered in designing curriculum. It is judged that operation of flexible education program should be arranged if learning achievement through regular curriculum Is limited.
