As an attempts to overcome the graft incompatibility in the pines seed orchards. Three kinds of auxin (IBA, GA and 2.4-D) were treated on the grafted seedling, and air-layering at the swollen part on the graft union area was also investigated. The observations were made on the percentage of graft incompatibility in the intra- and inter species, the appearance of swollen parts at graft union area, the symptom of scion overgrowth, the development of suberin zone in meristemic tissue and in wound-xylem tissue and rooting ability on tile air-layering. The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. Grafts made within species were more likely successful than those made between species. The stocks of black pine of older graft union to those of younger age. In the korean pine, however, the age effect on the formation of graft union was negligible. 2. The major response on graft incompatibility to gibberellic acid seems to be on decrease in the development of swollen at graft union area, overgrowth of scion and suberin zone in the meristem tissue and wound-xylem tissue. 3. High rooting ability was demonstrated fly the air-layering taken from the swollen parts of graft union treated with 120㎎/ℓ of IBA.

Cation into the base and anion into the apex of Mungbean stem cutting were treated with electrical source of the voltage of 10, 20, 30 and 60mV for 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes on each voltage application. The same voltage were applied for 15minutes with electrodes reversed into the base and apex of the stem cuttings. The obtained results on the effects of rooting of electrical treated Mungbean stem cuttings are summarized as following. 1. First treatment, cation into the base and anion into apex, seemed to accelerate rooting while the reverse treatment showed inhibition effect on rooting. 2. Voltages 10-20mV seemed to stimulate but the applications of voltages 30-60mV inhibited rooting. Recommended voltage was 10-20mV for around 45 minutes to increase the rooting ability.
