        동애등에 분말 사료 급여가 토종닭의 폐사율과 육질에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with Ptecticus tenebrifer powder on the mortality and meat quality of Korean native chickens. A total of 40,000 Korean native chickens (1 day old, Hanhyup No. 3) were allocated to two dietary treatments (20,000 chickens in each treatment), which were fed the following: basal diet (control) and 1% of Ptecticus tenebrifer powder (T1). Feeding trials were conducted for 12 weeks, and mortality was measured weekly. At the end of the experimental period, 16 chickens (8 chickens in each treatment) were selected and slaughtered to obtain breast meat. The items used to analyze meat quality were pH, TBARS, and meat color. The weekly mortality rate was decreased by around 2 to 3 times in the T1 treatment group compared with the control group. The pH, TBARS, L<sup>*</sup>, and b<sup>*</sup> values of Korean native chicken breast were not affected by Ptecticus tenebrifer powder supplementation (p>0.05); however, a<sup>*</sup> values showed statistical significance (p<0.05). In conclusion, the addition of 1% Ptecticus tenebrifer powder reduced mortality rate and demonstrated its potential in livestock environmental management.

        밀폐유도용해로 제조된 Co<sub>1-x</sub>Fe<sub>x</sub>Sb<sub>3</sub>의 열전특성

        [ $Co_{1-x}Fe_xSb_3$ ] skutterudites were synthesized by encapsulated induction melting and their thermoelectric properties were investigated. Single phase ${\delta}-CoSb_3$ was successfully obtained by the subsequent heat treatment at 773 K for 24 hours in vacuum. However, ${\delta}-CoSb_3$ was decomposed to FeSb2 and Sb when $x{\leq}0.3$, which means that the solubility limit of Fe to Co is x<0.3. The positive signs of Seebeck coefficients for all Fe-doped specimens revealed that Fe atoms acted as p-type dopants by substituting Co atoms. Thermoelectric properties were remarkably enhanced by Fe doping and optimum composition was found to be $Co_{0.7}Fe_{0.3}Sb_3$ in this study.

        열간압축성형으로 제조한 Co<sub>1-x</sub>Fe<sub>x</sub>Sb<sub>3</sub>의 열전특성

        The hot pressing was employed to prepare Fe-doped $CoSb_3$ skutterudites and their thermoelectric properties were investigated. Single phase ${\delta}-CoSb_3$ was successfully obtained by the hot pressing under 60MPa at 773 K for 2 hrs. Iron atoms acted as electron acceptors by substituting cobalt atoms. Thermoelectric properties were remarkably improved by the appropriate doping. $Co_{0.7}Fe_{0.3}Sb_3$ was found as an optimum composition for the best thermoelectric property in this work.

        The purpose of this study was to determine the possibility of black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) as a animal feedstuff. Insect resources have been widely recognized that it exhibits its own biological activity by whole body or its metabolic intermediates. To accomplish this, its general and biological activities were measured. The present study was conducted to compare antioxidant activity of black soldier fly larva, pupa and grasshopper by examining radical scavenging activity using DPPH (2,2 diphenyl 1-picryl hydrazyl). DPPH radical scavenging activity was conducted on the EtOH, MeOH, H2O fractions of black soldier fly larvae. Results showed that black soldier fly pupa on the H2O fraction contained the highest DPPH radical scavenging activity among the samples. FRAP assay are more suitable methods to evaluate antioxidant activity of black soldier fly extracts. Among the samples, the FRAP value showed higher antioxidant activity in the extracts from black soldier fly pupa extract on H2O fraction. These results suggest that black soldier fly larva and pupa extract has antioxidant activity and its fractions can be utilized to develop functional feedstuff.

        향정신성 약물 중독에 의한 QTc 연장과 그 위험성에 대한 고찰

        Purpose: The aims of the present study were twofold. First, the research investigated the effect of an individual’s risk factors and the prevalence of psychotropic drugs on QTc prolongation, TdP (torsades de pointes), and death. Second, the study compared the risk scoring systems (the Mayo Pro-QT risk score and the Tisadale risk score) on QTc prolongation. Methods: The medical records of intoxicated patients who visited the emergency department between March 2010 and February 2019 were reviewed retrospectively. Among 733 patients, the present study included 426 psychotropic drug-intoxicated patients. The patients were categorized according to the QTc value. The known risk factors of QTc prolongation were examined, and the Mayo Pro-QT risk score and the Tisadale risk score were calculated. The analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression, Spearman correlation, and ROC (receiver operating characteristic). Results: The numbers in the mild to moderate group (male: 470≤QTc<500 ms, female: 480≤QTc<500 ms) and severe group (QTc≥500 ms or increase of QTc at least 60ms from baseline, both sex) were 68 and 95, respectively. TdP did not occur, and the only cause of death was aspiration pneumonia. The statically significant risk factors were multidrug intoxications of TCA (tricyclic antidepressant), atypical antipsychotics, an atypical antidepressant, panic disorder, and hypokalemia. The Tisadale risk score was larger than the Mayo Pro-QT risk score. Conclusion: Multiple psychotropic drugs intoxication (TCA, an atypical antidepressant, and atypical antipsychotics), panic disorder, and hypokalemia have been proven to be the main risk factors of QTc prolongation, which require enhanced attention. The present study showed that the Tisadale score had a stronger correlation and predictive accuracy for QTc prolongation than the Mayo Pro-QT score. As a result, the Tisadale risk score is a crucial assessment tool for psychotropic drug-intoxicated patients in a clinical setting.

        Thermoelectric Properties of Ce<SUB>z</SUB>Co₄Sb<SUB>12</SUB> Skutterudites

        N-type Ce<SUB>z</SUB>Co₄Sb<SUB>12</SUB> were synthesized and filling effects of Ce on the transport and thermoelectric properties of skutterudites were examined. Ce<SUB>z</SUB>Co₄Sb<SUB>12</SUB> skutterudite phases were decomposed to Ce₂Sb and CoSb₂ when z ≥ 0.3, indicating that a filling fraction limit of Ce is lower than 0.3. The electrical conductivity increased with increasing Ce filling content. The power factor increased with increasing temperature, and then decreased after reaching maximum. The lattice thermal conductivity decreased with increasing Ce filling content, and Ce<SUB>z</SUB>Co₄Sb<SUB>12</SUB> showed low values of approximately 2.5∼4.8 W/mK at all temperatures examined. Ce<SUB>0.2</SUB>Co₄Sb<SUB>12</SUB> showed the highest ZT = 0.44 at 823K.

        한국산 잡견에서 신장의 초음파검사법

        Ultrasonography observations were made of the kidneys of 21 dogs. Ultrasonography images obtained in transverse and longitudinal planes. A 3.5-MHz linear transducer was used. All examinations were peformed on dogs in dorsal recumbency under anesthesia. The right kidney was 3.2~3.8cm long, 1.7~3.5 cm wide and 1.0~1.9cm deep in 0~5 of body weight group, 3.6~4.6cm long, 2.4~3.6cm wide and 1.4~2.1cm deep in 5~10 of body weight group, and 4.6~6.4cm long, 3.3~4.2cm wide and 2.0~2.0cm deep in 10~15kg of body weight group(p< 0.01). Diameter of the parenchyma of the right kidney ranged between 0.4~0.9cm in 0~5kg group, 0.6~1.0cm in 5~l0kg group and 0.9-1.1cm in 10~15kg group(p<0.01). Diameter of the renal sinus of the right kidney ranged between 0.3~0.5cm in 0~5kg group, 0.4~0.7cm in 5~10kg group and 0.5~0.9cm in 10~ 15kg group(p< 0.01). Similar ultrasonic measurements were obtained for the left kidney. It was concluded that the ultrasonographic findings described in this study can be used as references for diagnosis of morphologic changes in e canine kidney.

        A case of nonsecretory multiple myeloma in a 66 year-old-woman is reported. At first, she complained severe neck pain and radiologic finding showed C2 pathologic fracture. She complained severe low back pain 4 month later and L1 compression fracture was found. The lumbar MRI showed a 1.4cm-sized round enhancing lesion in the body of T12. Bone marrow aspiration biopsy at L1 spine showed a few polymorphous and small nests of mononuclear cell. L1 lamina bone biopsy showed many abnormal plasma cells. Pathologic diagnosis was multiple myeloma. However, plasma electrophoresis and protein immunoelectrophoresis of serum and urine of patient were normal. So, it is a nonecretory multiple myeloma case and the incidence of nonsecretory multiple myeloma is known to about 1% of all multiple myeloma.

        한우에서의 초음파화상진단에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out to get fundamental information about the normal ultrasonogram of the liver and heart in Korean native cattle and calves. The interventricular septum, left ventricular internal diameter, left ventricular free wall thickness, aortic diameter, left atrial diameter, and right ventricular internal diameter of hear in 10 Korean native calves were determined at 4-5 right intercostal spare by use of ultrasonography. The caudal vena cava, portal vein, gallbladder, liver of 9 Korean native cattle and 10 calves were determined at 12, 11 and 10th intercostal spares by use of ultrasonography. Cursor-directed M-mode and gray-scale, B-mode ultrasonograms were obtained with electronic scanning ultrasound equipment with a 3.5 or 5.0-MHz convex transducer. The results obtained through the experiments were summarized as follows: 1. The result of ultrasonographic examination of the korean native calves' heart 1) Interventricular septum in systole and diastole was 1.23 and 0.81 cm, respectively(vc=28.84, 17.4). 2) Ventricular internal diameter in systole and diastole was 2.50 and 4.91 cm, respectively(vc=17.44, 12.73). 3) Left ventricular free was thickness in systole and diastole was 1.44 and 0.92 cm, respectively(vc=26.85, 23.54). 4) Aortic diameter was 2.69.m, .rspectevely(vc=11.29). 5) Left atrial diameter was 1.82 cm(vc=15.31). 6) Right ventricular internal diameter in systole and diastole was 1.12 and 1.9 cm, respectively(vc=33.71, 24.43). 3. Ultrasonographic measurments of caudal vena cava, portal vein, gallbladder of Korean native calves 1) Dorsal margin of caudal vena cava at the 12, 11 and 10th intercostal space was 13.5, 15.3 and 18.1 cm, respectively(p<0.01). 3) Depth of caudal vena cava at the 12, 11 and 10th intercostal space was 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6 cm, respectively. 3) Diameter of caudal vena cava at the 12, 11 and 10th intercostal space was 11.6, 1.7 and 1.6 cm, respectively. 4) Dorsal margin of portal vein at the 12, 11 and 10th intercostal space was 16.2, 18.6 and 21.4 cm, respectively(p<0.01) 5) Depth of portal vein at the 12, 11 and 10th intercostal spare was 4.5, 4.4 and 3.9 cm respectively. 6) Diameter of portal vein at the 13, 11 and 10th intercostal space was 2.1, 2.2 and 1.9 cm respectively. 7) Dorsal margin of gallbladder at the 11 and 10th intercostal space was 23.6 and 23.9 cm, respectively(p<0.01), 8) Longitudinal diameter of gallbladder at the 11 and 10th intercostal space was 7.1 and 5.9 cm, respectively(p<0.05). 9) Transverse diameter of gallbladder at the 11 and 10th intercostal space was 2.4 and 2.1 cm respectively(p<0.01). 3. Ultrasonographic measurments of caudal vena cava, portal vein, gallbladder of Korean native cattle 1) Dorsal margin of caudal vena cava at the 12 and 11th intercostal space was 22.2, and 25.4 cm, respectively(p<0.01). 2) Depth of caudal vena cava at the 12 and 11th intercostal space was 103 and 11.1 cm, respectively(p<0.01). 3) Diameter of caudal vena cava at the 12 and 11th intercostal space was 3.1 and 3.0 cm, respectively. 4) Dorsal margin of portal vein at the 12 and 11th intercostal space was 29.3 and 32.9 cm, respectively(p<0.01). 5) Depth of portal vein at the 12 and 11th intercostal space was 9.6, and 9.2 cm, respectively. 6) Diameter of portal vein at the 12 and lith intercostal space was 3.4 and 3.3 cm, respectively. 7) Dorsal margin of gallbladder at the 11 and 10th intercostal space was 43.1 and 45.5 cm, respectively(p<0.01). 8) Longitudinal diameter of gallbladder at the 11 and 10th intercostal space was 10.1 and 9.4 cm, respectively. 9) Transverse diameter of gallbladder at the 11 and 10th intercostal space was 4.0 and 3.7 cm, respectively. 4, Ultrasonogaphic measurments of dorsal margin, ventral margin, size and angles of the Korean native calves' liver. 1) Dorsal margin of liver at the 12, 11 and 10th intercostal space was 11.0, 9.6, and 12.4 cm, respectively(p<0.01). 2) Ventral margin of liver a
