        Identification of Tumor Antigens in Lung Cancer Patient by SEREX

        Serological anlysis of recombinant cDNA expression libraries (SEREX) has led to identification of several categories of new antigens recognized by the immune system of cancer patients, which are referred to as the cancer immunome. We analyzed normal testis cDNA expression libraries with serumobtained from non-small lung cancer patient and isolated 40 distinct antigen designated KP-LuT-1 through KP-LuT-40. Among these antigens 20 antigens were previously identified by SEREX analysis of other tumor types, and 20 out of 40 antigens (50%) did not match entries in Cancer Immunome Database and were considered newly identified antigens. Sequencing analysis showed that the anti-gens comprised 26 functional known proteins and 14 noble/uncharacterized gene products. Of these, the hypothetical protein KP-LuT-6 was shown tissue-restricted. RT-PCR showed it to be expressed strongly only in normal testis. In addition to normal tissues-restricted expression, KP-LuT-6 mRNA was detected in lung tumor samples(3/l0), stomach tumor samples(3/l0), and breast tumor samples(l/5), whereas not detected in colon tumor samples(O/I2). These data suggest that KP-LuT-6 is a cancer/testis (CT)-like antigen as a potential target for cancer immunotherapies. 혈청학적 유전자 검색 방법(SEREX)은 암 환자의 면역계를 인식하는 종양 면역유전체(Cancer Immunome)를 형성하는 수많은 종양항원의 발견을 이끌어왔다. 본 연구는 정상인의 고환 조직으로 만들어진 cDNA liabary을 사용하여 폐암환자의 혈청으로부터 40개의 종양항원을 동정하여 그 항원들을 KP-LuT-1부터 KP-LuT-40까지 명명하였다. 이들 항원 중에서 20개는 기존의 다른 종류의 암에서 분리된 것이며 20개는 본 실험에서 새롭게 동정 된 항원들이었다. 유전자 분석을 통하여 분리된 26개의 항원들은 그 단백질의 기능이 알려진 것이었고 14개의 항원들은 기능이 분석되지 않은 유전체의 산물이었다. 이들 항원 중에서 hypothetic단백질 KP-LuT-6는 정상조직에서 제한적으로 발현되었다. RT-PCR에 의한 발현분석 결과에서 16개의 정상조직 중 고환에서만 강력하게 발현 하였고 다른 조직에서는 발현되지 않으나 폐암(3/10), 위암 (3/10) 과 유방암(1/5)들에서 발현 하였다. 이 결과는 KP-LuT-6의 항원이 암 면역치료를 위한 잠재적 유전자로 사용될 수 있는 Cancer/Testis(CT) 항원과 비슷한 유전 자로 사료된다.

        1주일의 격일 반신수욕이 활동한선밀도 동원력에 미치는 영향

        The aim of this study is to confirm whether the experienced in short-term and intermittent half body bath (4 sessions, lower body immersion, 42±0.5℃, 30 min/session, for 7 days) can have an influence on the change of the recruitment of activated sweat gland density (ASGD). Subjects were 10 male university students (23.17±2.58 years old, 173.16±3.28 cm height, and weighing 67.68±5.23 kg) who live in Cheonan, Chungnam having no experienced in an artificial thermal stress. This study obtained the mean ASGD from torso (chest, upper back, lower back, abdomen) and limb (upper arm, forearm, thigh, leg) before and after short-term and intermittent half body bath. As the result, it was found that the experienced in short-term and intermittent half body bath significantly increased the whole body sweat loss volume and mean ASGD (p < 0.001). And ASGD increased rate higher in limb (23.8%) than torso (16.5%). In conclusion, our data support the short-term and intermittent half body bath can have an influence on the recruitment of activated sweat gland density. Therefore, evaporative cooling is further facilitated, thermoregulatory efficiency increased by ASGD.

        고온 환경에서 신체활동 전 카페인 섭취가 평균 체온과 백혈구 세포 수에 미치는 영향

        The aim of this study was to test the influence of 3 ㎎ · ㎏?¹ caffeine on mean body temperature (mTb), leukocyte counts in blood in hot environment (temperature; 30.2±0.24, humidity; 50.0±2.14%). Study was random, double blind, crossover designed. A sample of 12 sedentary female and college students (age, 22.20±1.l0 yrs; height, 162.41±3.35 ㎝; body weight, 51.20±4.76㎏; VO₂max, 32.01±0.72 ㎖ · ㎏?¹ · min?¹; body surface area, 1.52±0.99㎡; BMI, 22.14±3.65 ㎏ · m?²) were assigned to a control group (Con-G; non-caffeine), placebo group (Plac-G; starch intake of 3 ㎎ · ㎏?¹), caffeine group (Caff-G; caffeine intake of 3 ㎎ · ㎏?¹). Each groups carried out running on a treadmill for 40 minutes at 60% intensity of VO₂max. mTb was significant difference among groups (p<0.01) and showed higher. So, Whole body sweating loss volume (WBSLV) was higher on Caff-G and significant difference among groups (p<0.001). Leukocytes counts was increased rate after physical work in all groups and higher on Caff-G (19.1%) and significant different among groups (p<0.01). we derived the conclusion that while the consumption of 3 ㎎ · ㎏?¹ of caffeine before physical work in hot temperature is increasing mTb and effect on leukocyte counts. But we can not exclude the possibility completely that effects of caffeine on the immunocytes reaction.

        화폐공동체의 성립과 수령공동체의 균열 2009년 화폐개혁을 중심으로

        지난 2009년 11월 30일부터 12월 6일까지 북한은 전격적으로 화폐교환을 실시하였다. 화폐개혁은 다목적인 조치로 보인다. 주된 원인은 지나친 화폐화에 대한 북한 당국의 위기의식 때문으로 여겨진다. 우리는 화폐를 단순한 사물로 취급하는 경향이 있다. 그러나 화폐의 배후에는 사회적 관계가 은폐되어 있다. 화폐는 하나의 상징이다. 화폐적 가치를 받아들이는 사람들은 공동체를 이룬다. 이른바``화폐공동체``라고 부를 수 있을 것이다. 경제위기 이전의 북한은 배급제를 중심으로 한 재분배 사회였다. 강력한 ``수령공동체``는 자원을 집중시킨 후 배급함으로써 주민들의 충성을 이끌었다. 그러나 1990년대 들어 배급제가 붕괴되는 위기상황에 이르자 화폐는 제한되어 있던 기능을 되살리며 작동하기 시작했다. 화폐는 시장에 뿌리를 내리고 자신의 가치를 실현할 수 있는 계기를 확장했다. 화폐적 인간의 전범이 되는 사적자본가(돈주)들이 생겨나고 주민들은 화폐가 주는 쾌락에 복속되어 화폐공동체를 이루었다. 2009년의 화폐개혁은 교환한도를 초과하는 금액에 대한 국가의 디폴트선언이다. 이것은 약탈적이며 비도덕적인데, 이처럼 극단적 화폐개혁은 위기를 느낀 수령공동체가 취한 극약처방으로 밖에 볼 수 없다. 그러나 북한당국의 의도는 성공하지 못한 것으로 여겨진다. 많은 사적 자본가들은 여전히 계획의 영역을 넘나들며 영향력을 행사하고 있으며 주민들은 화폐적 부를 쌓아올리기 위해 동분서주하고 있다. 북한사회에서 화폐공동체는 팽창하고 있다. 그러나 수령공동체는 균열을 일으키고 있으며 질적인 변화과정에 있는 것이다. From Nov 30 to Dec 6 2009, the North Korea quickly implemented the money exchange. It seems that the currency reform in North Korea was a multi-purpose measurement. It is also considered that its main reason was the crisis awareness of authorities in North Korea to severe monetization. We usually regard the currency as simple objects. But, at the background of the currency, social relationships are covered. Money is just a symbol. The people who accept the value of Money consists of the community. It’s a so-called ‘Community of Money’. North Korea before financial crisis was a redistribution society based on the distribution system. Strong ‘community of leader’ led the loyalties of residents by distributing resources after centralizing them. However, crisis which the distribution system is collapsed occurred in 1990`s, the currency started to function with the revival of it which was limited. The currency rooted to the market and extended the opportunity to realize its value. Private capitals (Donju) who were the prototype of Money human being emerged and residents consisted the community of money by yielding to the pleasure of Money. The currency reform in 2009 was a default declaration of North Korea to amounts exceeding the limit of Money exchange. This was predatory and non-moral and radical currency reform like this can only be seen as an ultimate decision by ‘community of leader’ sensing the crisis. Though, it is regarded that the intention of authorities in North Korea was not successful. Most of private capitals still exercise their powers crossing the plans and residents try hard to be rich in Money. In the society of North Korea, ‘community of money’ is expanding. But, ‘community of leader’ is cracking and it seems that it is on the process of qualitative change.

        스포츠음료 함유 한약재의 작용기전에 관한 문헌적 고찰

        Objectives : The review of the literature had been done to investigate the mechanism of the herbal medicines contained in sports drink. We had thought the results could provide the theoretical basis of adding herbal medicies to sports drink. Methods : We had selected several herbal medicines contained in sports drink, and investigated the mechanism in field of oriental medicine and pharmacology. Results & Conclusions : In view of oriental medicine, it had been found in concepts treating "summer-heat pathogen" and "over-exertion syndrome", eliminating the symptoms in sports activity by tonifying the spleen, nourishing the lung, clearing away the heart-fire, promoting the production of the body fluid, inducing sedation of the mind, etc. In pharmacological view, it had been found all herbal medicines had the protective effect of oxidative stress regarded as the main cause of the physical and mental fatigue in sports activity.

        Normally, the government or a local autonomous entity selects urban railway(subway, light rail transits etc.) system after investigating logicality about a route and announcing officially for people"s convenience if the system is decided, suppliers of equipment(train, transformer, trolly wire, signal, communication, PSD, AFC etc.) are selected and ordering go forward. Stabilization of a total system is need for smooth train operation before opening to traffic by design, installation, total trial operation So, a measure against interface disharmony between each equipment is need. This treatise deals with the systematic method of management and items for interface plan from system design to opening on the evidence of experience of Gwangju subway total interface.

        단기서열순화 후 아세틸코린 투여 시 정량적 축색 발한운동 검사반응

        Tropical inhabitants are able to tolerate heat through permanent residence hot and often humid tropical climate, to clarify the peripheral mechanisms of the thermal sweating in pre-post exposure by sweating responses to acetylcholine (ACh), a primary neurotransmitte of the sudomotor functions were healthy subjects (n=8). ACh was iontophoretically 10% iontophoresis administered on the inner forearm skin. Directly activated and axon reflex-mediated sweat responses were evaluated by quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test. The AXR sweat onset-time (axon reflex) was 1.62±0.82 min and 1.24±0.62 min in human subjects by pre-post exposure, respectively (P<0.001). The AXR(1) sweat volume (axon reflex) was 1.25±0.75 ㎎/㎠ and 2.08±0.85 ㎎/㎠ in human subjects by pre-post exposure, respectively (P<0.001). The AXR (2) sweat volume (axon reflex) was 2.03±0.65 ㎎/㎠ and 3.05±0.72 ㎎/㎠ in human subjects by pre-post exposure, respectively (P<0.001). The DIR sweat volume (directly activated) was 4.96±1.38 ㎎/㎠ and 5.68±1.27 ㎎/㎠ in human subjects by pre-post exposure, respectively (P<0.001). Activated sweat volume in the sudomotor functions was higher the output for the post-exposure than the output for the output pre-exposure. It was concluded that the post-exposure had the higher sweat output due to the combination of the higher sweat volume and the shorter of onset time. In conclusion, higher sudomotor responses to ACh receptors are indicative of accelerated sympathetic nerve responsiveness to ACh sensitivity by exposure environmental condition.

        마이크로웨이브법에 의해 제조된 HAp 및 BCP 분말이 뼈모세포 및 파골세포의 활성에 미치는 영향

        Hydroxyapatite (HAp) and biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) nano powders were synthesized using the microwave-assisted synthesis process dependent on pH and microwave irradiation time. The average size of a powder was less than 100 nm in diameter. Through in-vitro cytotoxicity tests by an extract dilution method, the HAp and BCP nano powders have shown to be cytocompatible for L-929 fibroblast cells, osteoblastlike MG-63 cells and osteoclast-like Raw 264.7 cells. The activation of osteoblast was estimated by alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity. When the HAp and BCP were treated to MG-63 cells, alkaline phosphatase activities increased on day 3, compared with those of the untreated cells. Also, the collagen fibers increased when the HAp and BCP powders suspension were treated to MG-63 cells, compared to those of the untreated cells. Quantitative alizarin red S mineralization assays showed a trend toward increasing mineralization in osteoblast cultured with powder suspension. In conclusion, hydroxyapatite and biphasic calcium phosphate appeared to be a bone graft substitute material with optimal biocompatibility and could be further applied to clinical use as an artificial bone graft substitute.

        대식세포가 β-tricalcium Phosphate 뼈이식제의 생분해에 미치는 영향

        Various calcium phosphate bioceramics are distinguished by their excellent biocompatibility and osteoconductivity. Especially, the exceptional biodegradability of $\beta$-TCP makes it a bone graft substitute of choice in many clinical applications. The activation of osteoclasts, differentiated from macrophage precursor cells, trigger a cell-mediated resorption mechanism that renders $\beta$-TCP biodegradable. Based on this evidence, we studied the biodegradation process of granular-type $\beta$-TCP bone graft substitute through in vitro and in vivo studies. Raw 264.7 cells treated with RANKL and M-CSF differentiated into osteoclasts with macrophage-like properties, as observed with TRAP stain. These osteoclasts were cultured with $\beta$-TCP nano powders synthesized by microwave-assisted process. We confirmed the phagocytosis of osteoclasts by observing $\beta$-TCP particles in their phagosomes via electron microscopy. No damage to the osteoclasts during phagocytosis was observed, nor did the $\beta$-TCP powders show any sign of cytotoxicity. We also observed the histological changes in subcutaneous tissues of rats implanted with granule-type $\beta$-TCP synthesized by fibrous monolithic process. The $\beta$-TCP bone graft substitute was well surrounded with fibrous tissue, and 4 months after implantation, 60% of its mass had been biodegraded. Also, histological findings via H&E stain showed a higher level of infiltration of lymphocytes as well as macrophages around the granule-type $\beta$-TCP. From the results, we have concluded that macrophages play an important role in the biodegradation process of $\beta$-TCP bone graft substitutes.
