Vertical distribution of wind speed is subjected to the Power Law on wind speed and height. 10m high Met Mast which was set up by Korea Meteorological Administration to measure wind speed aiming at analyzing its impact on human life can't be used in forecasting wind power generation. Therefore, it is general to operate the Met Mast for the purpose of investigating the validity of wind power generation, and the height of a mast is becoming higher as most of current size of wind power generators requiring higher masts. However, it is more common to installation it within 60m height due to economical factors and permission/approval system factors. Height correction wind speed is calculated by using Deacon equation, and surrounding area's geometrical mean height, ground roughness , measure height are included in internal parameter. In addition to this, by applying 2 data of actual measurement of wind speed which is acquired in different height into Deacon equation, it is calculated by extrapolation. In this study, by comparing vertical distribution which is calculated using Roughness length rating of Risø and Roughness length rating in accordance of USGS vegetation analysis, the result is inputted into Deacon equation's illuminance index, and it is compared with actual measurement of wind speed to suggest recommendations for illumination index, and its rating classification methods which has to be applied to Deacon equation in domestic complicated area and costal area.

본 논문에서는 대형 풍력발전시스템에서 신뢰성 및 품질에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 기계적인 부품에 있어서 증속기어를 제거함으로서 잠재적인 고장 및 전력품질 저하의 문제점을 해결하고자 한다. 제안된 방식은 회전가능한 고정자와 슬립링을 적용하고, 고정자를 회전시킴으로써 기존의 증속기를 갖는 풍력발전시스템과 유사한 발전특성을 확보하고자 한다. 또한, 제안된 방식의 동작과 성능을 확인하기 위해 PSIM 시뮬레이션 패키지를 사용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 성능을 검증하였다. As the demands for offshore wind power generation systems on a large scale have grown dramatically, and extensive developments in PMSG (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator) and DFIG (Doubly-fed Induction Generator) wind turbine system have been going on. However, the wind power systems have been more sophisticated, and their reliability becomes critical issues. Averagely, wind turbines have shut down for about a week per year for repairs and maintenance. Especially the high speed gearbox of DFIG is inevitable components for high power generation, but becomes one of the critical failures. In this paper, a new reliable gearless wind turbine structure is proposed. The gearless wind turbine can operate on a maximum power points by controlling the speed of a rotational stator. The proposed approach is verified by PSIM simulations, resulting in increased energy reliability.
A Study on Thermoelectric Converter Using DMFC (Direct Methanol Fuel Cell) System

This article describes a thermoelectric converter, which is powered by thermoelectric (TE) power modules. This system uses TE devices that directly convert heat energy to electricity to power a converter using direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) system. The characteristics of the TE module were tested at different temperatures. A boost DC-DC converter was designed and controlled by a power-supply controller chip. Efficiency of about 80% can be achieved and because the thermoelectric converter system has not moving parts and has a small volume, the system can be carried about easily and conveniently to supply portable electric equipment and this is very important for some mobile equipment.
REMOTE MONITORING OF WIND-PHOTOVOLTAIC HYBRID GENERATION SYSTEM USING MOBILE PHONE AND INTERNET

In this paper, a remote monitoring system of wind-photovoltaic hybrid generation system using mobile phone and internet has been developed. Many kinds of data can be acquired, analyzed and saved automatically by this system. The hybrid system is composed of l[㎾] PV with DC/DC converter, battery banks and 5[㎾] wind power system with power inductor and AC/DC converter. In addition, wind monitoring sensors, voltage and current meters, current transformers and potential transformers are used as accessory instruments. All of these signals are fed into DAQ <Data Acquisition> board after converting the data which have been processed by many types of converters, dividing circuits and signal conditioning circuits. These data can not only be displayed on a computer, transmitted using the server program to remote computer and saved on a computer as a file day by day but also be sent as a CDMA message. The monitored-data can be downloaded, analyzed and saved from server program in real-time via mobile phone or internet at a remote place. All of the programs were designed with Lab VIEW software.
