        The purpose of this study was to investigate and quantitatively describe the acoustic characteristics of current Korean monophthongs. Recordings were made of 33 men and 27 women producing the vowels /i, e, ${\epsilon}$, a, ${\partial}$, o, u, i/ in a carrier phrase "This character is ___." A listening test was conducted in which 19 participants judged each vowel. F1, F2, and F3 were measured from the vowels judged as intended vowels by more than 17 people from the listening test. Analysis of formant data shows some interesting results including the undeniable confirmation of the 7-vowel system in modern Korean. It turns out that quite different sounding Korean vowels and English vowels happen to have very similar formant measurements. Also the difference between "citation-form reading" vs. "natural utterance reading" is discussed.

      • 음성과 인상의 관계규명을 위한 실험적 연구

        When we hear someone's voice, even without having met the person before, we usually make up a certain mental image of the person. This study aims at investigating the relationship between the voice and the image information carried within the voice. Does the mental picture created by the voice closely reflect the real image and if not, is it related with the real image at all\ulcorner To answer the first question, a perception experiment was carried out. Speech samples reading a short sentence from 8 males and 8 females were recorded and pictures of subjects were also taken. Ajou University students were asked to participate in the experiment to match the voice with the corresponding picture. Participants in the experiment correctly match 1 female voice and 4 male voices with their corresponding pictures. However, it is interesting to note that even in cases of mismatch, the results show that there is a very strong tendency. In other words, even though participants falsely match a certain voice with a certain picture, majority of them chose the same picture for the voice. It is the case for all mismatches. It seems that voice does give the listener a certain impression about physical characteristics even if it might not be always correct. By showing that there is a clear relationship between voice and image, this study provides a starting point for further research on voice characteristics: what characteristics of the voice carry the relevant information\ulcorner This kind of study will contribute toward the understanding of the affective domain of human voice and toward the speech technology.

      • 음성학적으로 본 사상체질

        Sasang Constitution, one branch of oriental medicine, claims that people can be classified into four different 'constitutions:' Taeyang, Taeum, Soyang, and Soeum. This study investigates whether the classification of the constitutions could be accurately made solely based on people's voice by analyzing the data from 46 different voices whose constitutions were already determined. Seven source-related parameters and four filter-related parameters were phonetically analyzed and the GMM(Gaussian mixture model) was tried on the data. Both the results from phonetic analyses and GMM showed that all the parameters (except one) failed to distinguish the constitutions of the people successfully. And even the single exception, B2 (the bandwidth of the second formant) did not provide us with sufficient reasons to be the source of distinction. This result seems to suggest one of the two conclusions: either the Sasang Constitutions cannot be substantiated with phonetic characteristics of peoples' voices with reliable accuracy, or we need to find yet some other parameters which haven't been conventionally proposed.

      • 음성과 사상체질: 음원을 중심으로

        Sasang Constitutional Medicine, a branch of traditional Korean medicine, believes that the health of human beings can be promoted by taking advantage of the fact that people have different constitutions. It utilizes the characteristics in human voice to diagnose the constitution of the patients. This study aims at establishing the relationship between Sasang constitutions and their corresponding voice characteristics by investigating source-related variables. Voice recordings of 23 patients from three different constitutions were obtained whose constitutions had been already diagnosed by the experts in the fields. Fundamental frequency related variables (average pitch, maximum/minimum pitch, pitch range), phonation type, speaking tempo were measured and analyzed for each group. The phonation type seemed to be a possible candidate for a successful variable to determine constitution. No statistically significant relationship was manifested between other variables and constitutions. Despite its failure to firmly establish the relationship between voice and constitutions, the current study suggests that future research should include not only source-related variables

      • General Acoustical Characteristics of Pansori Singing Voice

        판소리의 특질을 연구하기 위하여 여덟 명창의 소리를 분석하였다. 그 결과 모두에게서 유성음임에도 불구하고 비주기성인 소리를 찾았다. 이러한 현상은 매우 높은 성대밑 공기압에 기인한다고 보았다. 이 비주기성 유성음은 명창들의 일반 대화에서도 나타나서 이러한 현상이 곧 성대의 영구적인 변화에 의한 것임을 추정할 수 있었다. 또한 판소리에서 나타나는 vibrato는 서양의 오페라에 비해 주기가 훨씬 길고 범위는 훨씬 넓음이 확인되었다. 그 외에도 모든 명창의 경우 고주파수 영역에서 매우 높은 에너지를 보여주어서 일반인의 발성과 차이가 남을 알 수 있었고, 특히 일부 명창의 경우는 1000Hz 바로 이하에서 유별나게 강한 harmonics가 나타나서 서양 음악의 소위 singer's formant와 대조를 이루었다.

        퍼머넌트 및 염색 시술 순서에 따른 모발 손상과 웨이브 효율에 관한 연구

        Now days there are many peple who are very busy to work. They don't have enough time to pursue beauty. So this thesis invest to do having hair permanent and dye simultaneously. I am going to know an effect of changing of the process on the hair. Also I research an effect of condition of the process the hair. and what's need to be Helthy hair and stylish simultaneously. So I aim to verify the process to make a goo data. The results are as follows. First of all, if dye first and have permanent hair damage is less than other order of process. Secondly, dye by alkali and have permanent have the most hair desquamates also affect adversely to surface of the hair. Thirdly, the change of the hair color brightness is the best when dye the hair first. As a result, when change customers hair by chemical in a beauty studio. It should be considered that check of the customers condition of the hair correctly. Also it is important that decide the order of process to reduce hair damage and maintain healthy hair.

        대나무 실리카와 레드비트 추출물의 모발용 염색성에 관한 연구

        Recently, as well-being and natural health have become a social trend, there is a tendency to prefer natural ingredients rather than chemical ingredients for hair dye. Natural dyes do not contain toxic substances and harmful ingredients, so they are safe for the human body and restore scalp and hair damaged by general dyeing and perming. In this study, antioxidant activity, total polyphenol content, flavonoid content, and anthocyanin content of red beet extract, a natural pigment, were measured. In order to increase the dyeability, silica was extracted from bamboo stem, mixed with the red beet extract, and used as a collecting agent. After dyeing artificial hair with the red beet extract, the dye ability of each sample was compared using a colorimeter. The results of a color difference test confirmed that the red beet extract had very good dyeing properties for all human hair, and the dye ability was different depending on the type of mordant and the treatment time. In particular, the color difference of FeSO₄ mordant was high. Therefore, as a natural dye that can replace chemical dyes, red beet extract is a very useful bio material.

        The quality of the display can be managed by effectively managing the temperature generated by the panel during use. Conventional display panels rely on an external reference resistor for temperature monitoring. However, this approach is easily affected by external factors such as temperature variations from the driving circuit and chips. These variations reduce reliability, causing complicated mounting owing to the external chip, and cannot monitor the individual pixel temperatures. However, this issue can be simply and efficiently addressed by integrating temperature sensors during the display panel manufacturing process. In this study, we fabricated and analyzed a temperature sensor integrated into an a-IGZO (amorphous indium-gallium-zinc-oxide) TFT array that was to precisely monitor temperature and prevent the deterioration of OLED display pixels. The temperature sensor was positioned on top of the oxide TFT. Simultaneously, it worked as a light shield layer, contributing to the reliability of the oxide. The characteristics of the array with integrated temperature sensors were measured and analyzed while adjusting the temperature in real-time. By integrating a temperature sensor into the TFT array, monitoring the temperature of the display became easier and more accurate. This study could contribute to managing the lifetime of the display.

        디스플레이는 진화를 거듭하여 브라운관에서 액정 표시장치로 발전하고 이어서 입체 디스플레이나 투명 디스플 레이 그리고 유연 디스플레이 등으로 계속 발전 되고 있다. 투명 디스플레이는 영화나 기타 매체에 등장하며 관심을 모았고 현재 투명 액정 표시 장치는 광고용 등에 일부 응용이 되고 있다. 투명 디스플레이가 잘 활용이 되기 위해서는 투명도가 중요하고 색재현성이나 선명성도 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 투명 디스플레이의 선명성에 대해서 분석하였으며 기존 투명 디스플레이의 문제점을 분석하고 개선 방향을 제시하였다. 편광판의 개선과 배선에 의한 회절 등이 감소되어야 선명성을 높일 수 있다. Display technology have developed to replace CRT (cathode ray tube) by LCD (liauid crystal disolay), and then the 3D(three-dimensional) display, transparent display, and flexible display have been being developed continually. The transparent display got one‘s attention through the movie or other media. Transparent LCDs are being used for advertisement and so on. The color gamut, definition of image, and transparency are important factors for the transparent display to be used widely. In this paper, we investigated the definition of transparent display and analyzed the problems related to the transparent display. The inqjrovement points were discussed and the surface treatment of polarizer and diffraction by the pattern should be reduced for the high definition display..
