        6가 크롬 폭로가 랫트의 태반 기능과 출산에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the toxic effects of chromium (VI) on the placental function and reproduction in rats. For the study, the placental prolactin-growth hormone (PRL-GH) gene expression, placental trophoblast cell differentiation and reproductive data were analyzed. Methods : The pregnancies of F344 Fisher rats were checked by the presence of a copulatory plug or sperm in the vaginal smear, which was defined as day 0 of the pregnancy. Pregnant rats were divided into the three groups. The control group was given tap water (chromium level < 0.001 ppm) and the remaining groups were given 250 or 750 ppm of chromium (VI) [as potassium dichromate], from day 7 to 19 of the pregnancy. Rats were sacrificed at days 11 and 20 of pregnancy. The mRNA levels of PRL-GH and Pit-1a and b isotype genes were analyzed by Northern blot hybridization and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The hormonal concentration was analyzed by radioimmunoassay, and the differentiation of placental trophoblast cells were observed by histochemical studies. Reproductive data, such as placental and fetal weights, pregnancy period, and litter size, were surveyed at day 20 of pregnancy and after birth. A statistical analysis was carried out using the SAS program (version 8.1). Results : The mRNA levels of the prolactin-growth hormone (PRL-GH) family of genes were dose dependently reduced by chromium exposure. The mRNA levels of Pit-1a and b isotype genes that induce the expression of the PRL-GH family of genes were also reduced by chromium exposure. The PRL-GH hormonal concentration in the rat placenta, fetus and maternal blood were decreased by chromium exposure. In the middle stage of pregnancy (day 11), a high dose of chromium suppressed the differentiation of spongiotrophoblast cells that secret the PRLGH hormones. In the last stage of pregnancy (day 20), a high dose of chromium induced apoptosis of placental cells. Reproductive data, such as placental and fetal weights, litter size, were reduced, but the pregnancy period was extended in the group exposed to chromium compared with the controls. Conclusion : Chromium (VI) disrupts the ordered functions of the placenta, which leads to reproductive disorders in rats.

        부산시내 지하생활권의 공기오염도와 온열인자에 관한 조사연구

        For the purpose of preparing the fundamental data on air pollution in underground shopping center and also contributing to the health improvement of residents, the authors measured the level of $SO_2,\;NO_2,\;TSP,\;CO,\;CO_2$ and also some related factors as air temperature, air movement, relative humidity and mean radiation temperature at inside and outside of underground shopping center in Pusan from January to February and from July to August 1994. The results were as follows : 1. The mean concentration of CO within the underground shopping center was $3.1{\pm}1.3ppm$ in winter and $2.1{\pm}0.9ppm$ in summer. There was a negative correlation (p<0.01) between inner CO concentration and temperature in summer and no correlation between inner CO concentration and outer CO concentration in underground shopping center 2. The mean concentration of COE within the underground shopping center was $876{\pm}353ppm$ in winter and $757{\pm}125ppm$ in summer. There was a negative correlation (p<0.01) between inner $CO_2$ concentration and air movement in summer and positive correlation (p<0.05) between inner $CO_2$ concentration and outer $CO_2$ concentration in underground shopping center. 3. The mean concentration of $SO_2$ within a underground shopping center was $0.036{\pm}0.019ppm$ in winter and $0.040{\pm}0.013ppm$ in summer. There was a positive correlation(p<0.01) between inner $SO_2$ concentration and temperature in summer and positive correlation between inner $SO_2$ concentration and outer $SO_2$ concentration in summer and winter in underground shopping center. 4. The mean concentration of $NO_2$ within a underground shopping center was $0.052{\pm}0.038ppm$ in winter and $0.042{\pm}0.016ppm$ in summer. There was a no correlation between inner $SO_2$ concentration and thermal factors in summer and winter and low correlation between inner $SO_2$ concentration and outer $SO_2$ concentration in underground shopping center 5. The mean concentration of TSP within a underground shopping center was $430{\pm}214{\mu}g/m^3$ in winter, $366{\pm}73{\mu}g/m^3$ in summer, and very in excess of the atmospheric environmental quality standards of Korea ($150{\mu}g/m3{\downarrow}$). There was low correlation between inner TSP concentration and temperature in summer and high correlation between inner TSP concentration and outer TSP concentration in underground shopping center.

        일부 스티렌 폭로 근로자의 뇨중 대사산물과 신경행동학적 검사

        In order to prepare the fundamental data for the health promotion by assessing the exposure level of styrene, the author determined the concentration of mandelic acid and phenylglyoxylic acid in urine of 42 workers who were exposed to styrene by high performance liquid chromatography and surveyed 16 symptoms, by questionnaire and also tested neurobehavioral test(digit symbol, benton visual retention) in 2 FRP plants of Kyung Nam area from July to September, 1995. Control was sampled by age sex matching method. The concentration of styrene in air was determined by gas chromatography. The results were as follows; 1. Geometric mean concentration of styrene in air was 17.4ppm, geometric mean concentration of mandelic acid(MA) in urine were 404.3mg/g creatinine for exposure group, 46.4mg/g creatinine for control group, geometric mean concentration of phenylglyoxylic acid(PGA) in urine were 57.5mg/g creatinine for exposure group, 9.5mg/g creatinine for control group. Mean concentration of MA and PGA showed statistically significant difference between exposure group and control group(p<0.01). 2. Number of symptom were 2.9 for exposure group, 3.3 for control group, number of digit symbol were 24.1 for exposure group, 32.5 for control group, number of Benton visual retention test were 6.1 for exposure group, 6.0 for control group, respectively. As result of adjusting the education year, number of Benton visual retention test showed statistically significant difference between exposure group and control group(p<0.05). 3. Excellent correlation were observed between environmental styrene exposure and urinary MA(r=0.80), PGA(r=0.73), and MA+PGA(r=0.81).

        부산지역의 대기 중 중금속 농도

        This study was carried out to assess the present level of atmospheric metals. Five metals - lead, cadmium, chromium, manganese, vanadium - were checked on the industrial(Sasang) and residental area(Daeshindong) in the city of Pusan. Sampling period was the year of 1986, 1990 and 1994, and the sampling time was 2 days of each site. As the result of comparison with the atmospheric standard of ASHRAE(1980), the average concentrations of lead was above the standard, the average concentrations of chromium was around the standard, and the average concentrations of cadmium and vanadium was below the standard. The average concentrations of manganese was above the standard of industrial environment. And the average concentrations of five metals was higher in the industrial area than the residental area. The average concentrations of lead, cadmium and chromium showed the increase tendency by the year, and the average concentrations of vanadium showed no change, and the average concentrations of manganese showed the decrease tendency. As a result of correlation analysis, lead and cadmium(r=0.31), vanadium and manganese(r=0.24), vanadium and chromium(r=0.19) showed significance.

        Bisphenol A가 흰쥐의 태반 기능과 출산에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of bisphenol A (BPA), an estrogen-like environmental endocrine disrupter, on the placental function and reproduction in rats. The mRNA levels of the placental prolactin-growth hormone(PRL-GH) gene family, placental trophoblast cell frequency and reproductive data were analyzed. Methods : The pregnancies of F344 Fisher rats ($160g{\pm}20g$) were detected by the presence of the copulatory plug or sperm in the vaginal smear, which marked Day 0 of pregnancy. Pregnant rats were divided into three groups. The control group was intraperitoneally injected with a sesame oil vehicle. The two remaining groups were injected with 50 or 500 mg/kg B.W/day of BPA, resuspended in sesame oil, on either days 7 to 11 or 16 to 20 of pregnancy, with the rats sacrificed on either day 11 or 20, respectively. The mRNA levels of PRL-GH and Pit-1a and b isotype genes were analyzed by Northern blot hybridization and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. The hormone concentrations were analyzed by radioimmunoassay, and the frequency of the placental trophoblast cells observed by a histochemical study. Reproductive data, such as the placental weight and litter size, were surveyed on day 20. The fetal weight was surveyed for 4 weeks after birth. A statistical analysis was carried out using the SAS program (version 8.1). Results : The mRNA levels of the PRL-GH gene family, such as placental lactogen I, Iv and II, prolactin like protein A, C and Cv, and decidual prolactin-related protein were significantly reduced due to BPA exposure. The mRNA levels of the Pit-1a and b isotype genes, which induce the expression of the PRL-GH gene family in the rat placenta, were also reduced due to BPA exposure. The PL-Iv and PL-II concentrations were reduced in the BPA exposed group. During the middle to last stage of pregnancy (Days 11-20), a high dose of BPA exposure reduced the frequency of spongiotrophoblast cells, which are responsible for the secretion of the PRL-GH hormones. Reproductive data, such as the placental and fetal weights and the litter size, were reduced, but that of the pregnancy period was extended in the BPA exposed compared to the control group. Conclusions : BPA disrupts the placental functions in rats, which leads to reproductive disorders.

        일란성 쌍둥이를 대상으로 아로마 사용여부에 따른 얼굴 피부 상태 비교

        The purpose of this paper is to determine potential variations in moisture, sebum and elasticity of the facial skin depending upon skin care with additional application of aroma, which has proven its persistent effectiveness in skin care, as demonstrated in many other laboratory findings, so that it can provide fundamental data for skin care in the future. To meet the goal, a total of five pairs of identical twins in their late twenties, who had no skin diseases in their health history and kept good health conditions, were asked to participate in a weekly experiment conducted for eight weeks from January to February in 2008. In order to compare potential variations in the skin between an aroma group and a control group, we measured moisture, sebum and elasticity of each group`s forehead, cheek and jaw regions three times before- and after-experiment. The comparison with mean differences between the two groups has led us to the conclusion that the aroma group showed higher moisture and sebum than the control group.

        생쥐 치아 발생과정 중 법랑질모세포에서 Dynamin II 발현

        Immunostaing intensity of Dynamin II protein in ameloblast during mouse tooth development showed a significant increase of 48% at the postnatal day 3 and a significant increase of 50% at the postnatal day 5 as compared with the postnatal day 1, but showed a significant decrease of 16% at the postnatal day 7 and a significant decrease of 12% at the postnatal day 10 as compared with the postnatal day 1. From the above results, Dynamin II had relevance to secretion of amelogenin, ameloblastin, enamelin and matrix metalloproteinase-20 proteins for enamel formation in ameloblast. Dynamin II may be involved in the transport of vesicles containing proteins for enamel formation through the acceleration of vesicular formation and may be had a good possibility of secretory regulation of proteins for enamel formation in ameloblast. Therefore, Dynamin II have potential for being used in the field of gene theraphy for periodontal disease and in the regeneration for enamel and dentin tissues lost to dental caries.

        연구논문 : 네일아트 시술별 유기화합물의 노출수준

        For the purpose of preparing the fundamental data on nail art and preventing the health damages of worker in nail art industry, the author determined exposure level of organic compounds in the air by GC/FID and urinary metabolites of organic compounds by HPLC and HSS/GC/MSD. The obtained results were as follows; The author could found several chemicals, such as isopropyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, acetone, toluene, and so forth, in each nail art goods. In the result of exposure level about organic compounds in the each nail art technique, the author found various organic compounds were exposed in the air. The concentration of acetone, toluene, and ethyl acetate was relatively high in the process of coloring. The concentration of acetone was higher than other`s one in the process of tip & silk. In the process of acrylic, isopropyl alcohol and methyl methacrylate were shown the high concentration. The ethyl acetate were detected high concentration in the process of gel. In the analysis of metabolite, we found five times higher concentration of hippuric acid in the urine of exposure group and the hippuric acid was detected as the highest concentration after performing the acrylic process. The acetone was detected only in the exposure group, and the concentration was three times higher than other processes` one in the coloring process. As above results, for preventing the health impairment among workers of nail art, the author recommend that should be established monitoring system for working environment and prepared the ventilation system.

        규칙적인 피부관리가 노년기 여성 얼굴 피부의 수분량 개선에 미치는 효과

        Swedish massage is one of the well-known techniques helpful for skin care. This study was performed to observe the effects of maintenance and improvement of moisture among seruor women's facial skin with regular skin care using swedish massage. In the comparison of each measurement pre and post the skin care at the same day, moisture level was increased (p<O.lO). In addition, all the level of moisture was increased with increasing frequencies of the skin care (p<0.10). However, all of the measurements were not different in measurement time and type of cosmetic product application simultaneously in the results of RM-ANOVA Moisture level of the aged facial skin was improved with regular skin care. Even though this study could not observe the apparent effects because of the small subject numbers, author expect that regular skin care will contribute to maintain and improve the health of skin even in the aged women.

        미용사의 근골격계 증상과 관련된 직업 및 스트레스 관련요인

        This study was conducted to prepare the fundamental data and prevention measure on musculoskeletal symptoms among hair dresser by investigating musculoskeletal symptoms prevalence and its related risk factors. The author surveyed the prevalence in term of NIOHS diagnostic criteria and work-related risk factors to 580 hair dresser in Busan and Kyeong-Nam area, Korea, using structured self- administered questionnaires from March 1st to April 10th, 2010. The collected data was analysed by the statistical package for the SPSS program Prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms by NIOSH diagnostic criteria were 44.5% for shoulder, 34.4% for finger/wrist and 32.4% for back, respectively. Statistically significant risk factors of general characteristics in analysis of univariate logistic regression were age, marage state etc.. Statistically significant risk factors of job related characteristics in analysis of univariate logistic regression were carrier, working hours etc.. Statistically significant risk factors of musculokeletal symptoms were age(OR;1.26), marage state(OR;0.66), carrier(OR;0.55), working hours(OR;1.12), stress(OR;1.38) in multivariate logistic regression. The author recommend to change of method in handling task, to reduce the working time and stress. Therefore author suggest that surveillance system and monitoring program should be established for effective management and prevention of muskeloskeletal symptoms among hair dresser.
