        환경교육 연수에 참여한 교사들의 환경교육 범주에 대한 인식과 환경교육 전문성 함양의 변화 분석

        The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in perceptions of the categories of environmental education and environmental education professionalism of teachers participating in a in-service teacher training programs for environmental education. For this study, surveys and interviews were conducted before and after participation of 20 elementary and secondary school teachers who had participated in 'in-service teacher training program for professional development in environmental education' in August of 2005. Before participation, most of teachers answered that 'Education for Environment' was essential factor among the categories for environmental education. After participation, 15 teachers retained their perception but 5 teachers had changed to 'Education about Environment' or 'Education for Environment'. Environmental professionalism was conducted in '5 ability categories of environment teachers' of Hungerford et al.(1994). Categories has goal domains such as 'Goal domain Ⅰ(level of basic)', 'Goal domain Ⅱ(level of conceptual perceptions)', 'Goal domain Ⅲ(level of investigating and evaluation)', 'Goal domain Ⅳ(level of environmental action skill)', 'Goal domain Ⅴ(level of educational apply)'. Before participation, teachers had a low level of professionalism in environmental areas, but after participation environmental education professionalism improved significantly into the all 'Goal domains'.

        과학 수업에서 통합적 적용 경험에 따른 초등학교 교사들의 통합과학 교육에 대한 인식 및 교과교육학 지식(PCK)의 차이 분석

        The purpose of this study was to investigate significant differences between the application group and non-application group of integrated science education in the science class about elementary teachers` perceptions and PCK. The results are as follows. First, no significant differences were found about science teachers` fundamental background variables between the two groups, This results showed that the application of integrated science education didn`t have relation with the fundamental background variables, It was found that the application group of integrated science education has a lower frequency than the application group, however, it has been analysed that the application group has been applied at the introduction stage for students` motivation, focused on biology as twice every month. Second, to apply a successful integrated education in the elementary science class, it has analysed that not only teachers should need to understand about application method and concept of integrated science education but also science textbook and teaching-learning material should be developed and diffused in the well-integrated science. Third, it was found that professionality of elementary teachers to teach the scientific content knowledge is not comparatively high and non-application group of integrated science education has a lower PCK than the application group. Therefore, it should be provided that not only training programmes to learn interdisciplinary knowledge related to science, can lead to more understanding about instructional design, teaching strategies and concept for integrated science education should be developed but also chances to participate in various training programmes should be provided to enhance elementary teachers` professionality for integrated science education.

        성인 대상 환경교육을 위한 국립수목원 ‘식물교실’ 프로그램 만족도 조사

        The purpose of this study was to suggest implications for improvement of ‘Plant School’ programs of Korea National Arboretum by investigating satisfaction and requirements of customers who attended each program steadily. The ‘Plant School’ consisted of four programs; native plant photography school, winter bud observation school, horticulture school, and botanical illustration school. The suggested results are as follows. First, to generate excitement about plant education, education programs should be combined with external factors such as media, design, and painting. Second, it was found that program contents should focus on professional knowledge such as plant ecology and botany, so that plant school can act as a place for plant learning. Third, as more and more adults participate in plant schools, Korea National Arboretum should meet the increasing need; the variety of trees should be increased, education programs should be offered more often, and lecture rooms should be extended to outside such as exhibition gardens. Therefore, these results will be applied to improve the plant school programs and could be applied to operate other plant schools in botanical gardens in Korea.

        경기도 민통선이북지역 주민과공무원의 자연환경보전에 대한 인식 및 태도분석

        민통선이북지역은 주민들의 열악한 생활환경 개선을 위한 지역개발이냐 자연환경보전이냐의 상반되는 의견으로 끊임없는 논란을 야기시켰다. 이에 본 연구는 민통선이북지역에 거주하고 있는 주민들과 공무원들의 민통선 일원의 자연환경에 대한 인식과 자연환경보전 및 개발에 대한 태도를 알아보기 위해 파주시와 연천군 민통선지역 주민 265명과 시·군공무원 285명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 주민과 공무원들은 민통선 일원의 우수한 자연경관과 자연환경 및 다양한 생물종 보유에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하며 이에 대한 자부심과 긍지가 높은 것으로 나타났고, 자연환경은 많이 훼손되어 잘 보전되지 못한 것으로 인식하고 있으며 특히 연천지역 주민은 더 그렇다고 응답했다. 전체적으로 주민들이 자연환경보전을 우선시하거나 최소한 보전과 조화를 이룬 개발을 원하는 것으로 파악되었고, 지역 공무원들 또한 지역의 발전을 위한 희생적인 태도가 강한 것으로 파악되어 민통선지역에 대한 지속가능발전의 인식 토대는 긍정적인 것으로 평가되었다. 지역별로 처한 상황에 따라 주민과 공무원간의 의견차이가 유의미하게 나타났는데 파주지역의 경우 주민들이 지역개발을 더 원하는 데 비하여 공무원들은 환경훼손에 대한 우려와 자연환경보전 의지가 상대적으로 더 높아 갈등이 예상되었다. 향후 지역개발과 자연환경보전의 목표를 동시에 달성하기 위하여 자연환경에 대한 학술조사와 함께 주민의 의사를 충분히 반영하고 조화롭게 진행되도록 지역주민의 생활환경에 대한 심층적이고 지속적인 연구가 요구된다. The objective of the study is to examine the perception of the residents in the Civilian Control Zone (CCZ) and the competent local government officials for nature conservation and local development. A survey was conducted on 265 residents as well as 285 government officials from Paju and Yeoncheon Municipals. Both residents and officials perceived the value of biodiversity, natural ecosystem and landscape in the CCZ and seemed to have a sense of pride regarding it. However, they conceived that nature has not been conserved properly and residents in Yeoncheon showed more concern on this matter than residents in Paju. Overall, residents were more devoted to nature conservation or perceived the importance of accordance with nature conservation in local development, which implicates the sound foundation of perception and good prospect for sustainable development in CCZ. Owing to the difference in situation, there was a significant difference in perception between residents and officials. There is a possibility of conflict in Paju because residents desired more local development, whereas officials showed more purpose for nature conservation. In order to achieve simultaneously local development and nature conservation in CCZ, we should pay special attention to studies on living standards of local residents and scientific surveys on natural resources.

        DMZ 일원 생태체험교육 프로그램 운영 실태 및 개선 방안에 대한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate improvement plans and actual conditions and satisfaction of eco-experience education programs around DMZ district targeting participants of the「PEEP your DMZ」program. The results are as follows. First, in spite of the fact that educational programs for nature exploration and experience to enhance both the importance of environmental education and the educational applicability of ecological experience learning have spreaded out, 59.9 percent of participants have no experience to take part in the relevant programs. Second, the high educational satisfaction of those who participate in ecological experience programs is generally confirmed. Also, though the satisfaction on human resources involved in ecological experience programs and guidebook convenience is high, the satisfaction on the facility utilization is mostly low. Third, the study shows that DMZ district is effective for the awareness intensification as a biosphere conservation area, the awareness intensification of sense of national security and the historical understanding intensification on the separation of Korean peninsula. Fourth, though the pride on superiority of natural landscape and unique ecological conservational state is high, the recognition on the inhabitation of rare plant and animal species is low. Besides, the recognition on the natural environment conservation is very strong and participants are well aware of the necessity of legal and institutional protection of the biosphere. Fifth, participants perceive the values as a source to understand the geographical value of DMZ district, unique natural landscape, the inspection of unusual biosphere and the history and culture of separation as the biggest advantage of the ecological experience educational programs. Therefore, we must consider program variability and originality when developing DMZ ecological experience educational programs and also continue endeavor for the qualitative improvement in order to intensify educational contents and theories.

        에듀테인먼트 공간으로 조성된 국립수목원 어린이정원의 시설 및 프로그램 만족도 조사

        The purpose of this study was to investigate satisfaction of student, adult and forest interpreters about facilities and program of childrens garden, which was constructed as edutainment space within Korea National Arboretum on May 2011. The results are as follows. First, an information about construction of childrens garden should be provided actively, because 70.8% student and 68.6% adult of respondent did not know existence of childrens garden. Second, it has been analysed that a fundamental conception of GREEN-I be reflected in construction childrens garden, especially, reflecting conception of Enjoy and Edutainment was comparatively high. Third, It was found that ecological experiencing activities program of childrens garden was positively to develop environmental literacy for student. Fourth, It was found that satisfaction of uncommon planting area was very low among planting area and satisfaction of forest interpreters was very low about place of ecological experience learning using five senses. Finally, for effective operation of childrens garden, childrens garden should be provided planting for environmental education connected with the school curriculum and ecological experiencing activities program to enjoy time with the family. Therefore, these results will be applied to improve childrens garden and could be applied to construct other childrens garden in botanical gardens.

        ESD 중등교사 기초과정 연수를 통해 나타난 교사들의 ESD에 대한 인식과 교육실천의 변화

        This study was to analyze the changes in secondary teachers perception and practice of ESD over the course of an ESD in-service training. The in-service training, which was funded by the Ministry of Education and hosted by Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity and Korea National University of Education, was a basic level ESD course and offered to middle and high school teachers from Kyeonggi and Seoul area. 56 teachers participated in this study and varied in their disciplinary majors. To capture the teachers experiences, reactions and reflections throughout the training, this study employed participation observation, reflective journals of both the researcher and teachers, and pre- and post- open-ended questionnaire. Over the training, it was found that more teachers i) integrated environment, society, and economy into their concepts of ESD, ii) valued ESD, and iii) showed interest and confidence in implementing ESD. This study followed up for two months and explored the teachers practice of ESD at schools and their plans for future ESD practice. Implications for ESD professional development regarding how to design and manage in-service training are discussed.

        정원 문화 확산을 위한 국립수목원 ‘정원놀이터’의 시설 및 프로그램 만족도 조사

        본 연구는 국립수목원 내 어린이정원에 정원문화 확산을 위해 조성된 ‘정원놀이터’의 시설 및 프로그램 만족도를 성인 57명을 대상으로 조사하여 앞으로의 어린이정원 기능 증진을 위한 개선 방안을 찾고자 수행하였다. 정원놀이터 만족도 개선을 위한 시사점은 첫째, 관람객은 정원놀이터에서 휴식하기보다는 실제적으로 체험하는 공간으로 이용하므로, 실제적으로 체험할 수 있는 정원 도구들이나 재료의 양을 보충하여 만족도를 높여야 하며, 둘째, 교육 공간으로서 정원놀이터를 활용하기 위해서는 정원도구함 터널과 같이 생활 속에서 이용할 수 있는 정보를 주는 공간의 확대가 더 필요하다. 셋째, 식재 요구도 조사 결과, 정원놀이터에 열매를 먹을 수 있는 과일 식물이나 꽃이 예쁜 식물, 향이 좋은 식물을 충분히 식재하여 정원놀이터의 만족도를 높일 수 있는 식재 계획이 필요할 것으로 시사된다. 이러한 시사점을 바탕으로 정원놀이터를 개선해 나간다면 정원놀이터에서의 환경 교육 효과를 극대화하여 공·사립 식물원과 수목원의 모범이 될 수 있다고 판단되며, 이를 위한 테마 개발을 위해 지속적인 연구와 노력이 요구된다. This study was conducted to survey the satisfaction with the facilities and programs of a playground created to promote gardening culture by conducting a survey of 57 adults at Childrens Garden within Korea National Arboretum and seek ways to improve the functions of Childrens Garden for the future. The implications of improving the functions of Childrens Garden are as follows. First, visitors satisfaction should be improved by installing more substantial tools and materials to the playground as they prefer to use it as an experience space rather than rest area. Second, to utilize the playground as a space for education, it is required to install more spaces, such as a garden tool box tunnel, which provides information that may be made available in their daily lives. Third, as the results of the survey on food materials suggest, it is necessary to make food material plans by preparing more food materials, such as plants bearing edible fruits or pretty blossoming flowers and aromatic food materials. Results showed that garden the playground will be a model for other botanical gardens by maximizing the effect of environmental education based on the findings, and further studies about the development of a theme based on the garden playground would be required.
