본 연구는 시각장애 학생이 지니고 있는 비합리적 신념의 특징을 알아보고, REBT 집단활동을 통해 비합리적 신념을 합리적 신념으로 변화시키기 위한 것이다. 그리고 성별, 실명시기, 시력정도, 학업성취도 등의 변인에 따라 차이가 있는가를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실험 처치인 REBT 집단상담 프로그램은 실험집단의 비합리적인 신념을 통계적으로 유의미하게 변화시켰다. 둘째, 실험 처치인 REBT 집단상담 프로그램은 실험집단의 남녀 학생들의 비합리적인 신념을 통계적으로 유의미하게 변화시켰고, 시력 정도에 따른 실험집단의 비합리적인 신념을 통계적으로 유의미하게 변화시켰으며, 학업성취도에 따른 비합리적인 신념을 통계적으로 유의미하게 변화시켰다. The purpose of this study is to discover the effect of group counseling based on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. The assumption of this research is that REBT will change their irrational belief into rational ones and there are meaningful differences in the results of these activities in relation to sex, age, degree of residual vision, academic achievement. This study was carried out on 20 blind students. Those student who wanted to attend the REBT counseling program were assigned to either experimental or control group. For the experiment group, the program was put into practice 10 times for 60~120 minutes twice a week. Major findings of this study can be summarized as followings; First, REBT group counseling program has some effect of reducing the irrational beliefs of experimental group student. Second, REBT group counseling program has some effect of reducing the irrational beliefs of boy student group than that of girl student group. Fourth, REBT group counseling program has some effect of reducing the irrational beliefs of blind student group than that of low vision student group. Fifth, REBT group counseling program has some effect of reducing the irrational beliefs of grade of fair and poor group than that of grade of good group.
