In this paper, driving functions of the Korea Train Express (KTX) were decomposed based on systems engineering architecture for a preceding research of hazard identification and scenarios deduction of the KTX. Moreover, interfaces of the decomposed driving functions were analysed to figure out purposes of the driving functions.

The engineering safety management activity begins with the production of Preliminary Safety Plan by project. The project then establishes a Hazard Log. Hazard Identification and Analysis and Risk Assessment are then carried out. On the basis of the Risk Assessment, Safety Requirements are prepared. On the basis of the Safety Requirements, Engineering Safety Management activity plan is made. Then Engineering Safety Management activity is performed in order that Safety Requirements of system are lowered to reasonable practicability The railroad stability assessment program is the program for evaluates safety analysing Preliminary Risk Analysis, Risk Assessment Reports, Safety Requirements Specification, Safety Plan, Safety Case. This research will discuss an assessment item escape related to Engineering Safety Management activity assessment program development.
